Flamingo Frenzy

Hello there! Bob cut six inches off my hair last Sunday, and I think you can tell in the pictures below. At first I wasn't sure about it, but, now I love it. Most of my life I've had hair this short or shorter. I just prefer shorter hair on me. It's also easier to handle. At this length my hair looks better when it's straightened, but during the work week I just don't want to take the time to blow dry my hair completly & then straighten it. Today Bob and I may be going to the movies to see "Aloha". I know he'll be cooking and baking a few things today though, so not sure if we are still going. I'm, going to work out, read, take outfit pictures, and pretty much just relax. I also think we're booking our hotel today for our NYC trip for our anniversary next month. We are probably just staying over for one night.
It actually rained late last night/this morning. We have barely gotten any rain in probably a month and a half. But, right now it's sunny, and going to be quite warm today. I'm happy tomorrow is June 1st! Summer is my favourite season, and the start of June is definitely the start of summer in my book. Even though we've been having summerlike weather for weeks now, which has been great!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Banned Apparel flamingo dress that I got from Viva La Dulce Marina's website. I love the style of this dres; the band right below the chest is great and flattering, and the straps are convertible, they can be worn like this or as a halter style. I like to wear it both ways. The company accidentally sent me a size smaller than I ordered, but, it worked out well, because this dress fits, and even has a little bit of room, still. I had never bought anything of that brand before, and wasn't sure on sizing. This outfit is kind of flamingo crazy! I just had to wear my flamingo dress and one of my flamingo brooches with it, ha. I wore this outfit to Friendly's last night. I'm glad my coral shoes match the dress; I don't have too many outfits that match my coral shoes, so when I find a match, I'm very happy!

Some Americana

Hello there! Bob is working today. He's worked the last three Saturdays. They've been really busy lately. I'll be cleaning, doing laundry, and working out. Tonight we are meeting his family for dinner at Friendly's. Friendly's is right around the corner from us, and I haven't been there in awhile. I always order the same thing there: chicken fingers & fries, with lots of honey mustard.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Trahsy Diva Americana dress. I won it off of eBay last Saturday. It's the first time I ever scored a TD item from eBay. I was so excited to win! There were a couple of other bidders, so I was nervous I wouldn't get it. This is a dress I have wanted for a long time, it was one of my "white whales". It's a size bigger than I normally am in TD, but the bust is tight. There's a little room in the waist, but you can't see that with the belt on. There was another TD dress on eBay that I really wanted to win, but lost out on, because the bidding went too high. I just love the look of this dress. I adore dresses with collars like this. I have a red Haunted Housewife Pin Up Girl Clothing dress that's similar to this one, too. I can wear this dress to just about anything. It's great for work, Christmastime, weekend wear, etc. There's a lot of room in the arms, which is nice, and makes for comfortable movement. I don't think I can have enough red TD dresses. I have three right now, and am eyeing another on eBay.
I'm also wearing my new brooch, from Atomicmingo, an Australian Etsy shop. It's my first time ordering from her. I love it! I have two more milkshake brooches coming from her.

BBQ Season

Hello there! We had a really good time yesterday at my parent's house. All my grandparents were there, and my aunt and uncle. I love the start of BBQ season! It was a little cool out yesterday, but we sat outside for quite awhile. It was sunny though. Today it's supposed to be warmer, and by Tuesday it'll be 88 degrees. You know what they say about New Jersey and some other places (I'm sure Colorado, too!); if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, and go outside again.
Today we are going to Bob's aunt and uncle's for another BBQ. His other aunt and uncle will be up. They live in Georgia, and we don't see them much. We're going to bring cornhole. I haven't played that since last summer.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Banned Apparel dress I got from Modern Pinup. Love the print! Believe it or not, I have almost no dresses with a pink background, so I'm glad this one does. I also have a dress on the way with a pink background, concidentally. This will also be a perfect dress to bring to Brooklyn next month, when we celebrate our anniversary, and check out the tiki bars.

Tiki Time

Hello there! I'm so glad the three day weekend is finally here. I know it'll go wayyy too fast, but, I'm trying to savor every moment of it. Today I'm going to clean, do laundry, work out, go to Target, go to a BBQ at my parent's with Bob, and maybe go for a walk-in hair cut. I am in dire need of one, and I just need to go and do it. I'm excited to have a cheeseburger tonight! I haven't had one in a longgg time.
So many websites are having great Memorial Day sales! I'm especially eyeing a couple of items on the PUG site. I'm waiting to my place my order/s, until I see if I win an eBay auction that ends on Sunday. That'll determine how much more money I want to spend on other items, ha. There's actually another item on eBay I really want as well, but I have there's a lot more bids on it than the other one, and I think it'll go too high for me, unfortunately.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a new dress. It's Collectif brand, and it's from Red Velvet Vintage. I spotted it on Red Velvet's Instagram, and they sent me a Paypal Invoice for it. I hadn't seen it on their website, so I had asked them if I could order it, and luckily I could. They only had one left in this size! I wasn't sure if it'd fit my chest, since it's a size small, and I had never ordered this brand before. But, the ladies at Red Velvet told me that since there's smocking in the back, there's extra room, and a lot of girls have sized down. I'm so glad I did get a small, becaise there's even some extra room in the chest and waist, and I almost never have extra room in the bust. I'm so glad I found it on a U.S. website, and didn't have to pay shpping from overseas. I just adore the print on the dress! It's so cute and kitsch. It'll be just perfect to wear in NYC next month, at tiki bars.

Change Is Good

Hello there! I am so excited for this three day weekend to arrive. It will just be so nice to have an extra day off. I really hope to get a hair cut this weekend. I've been wanting to get one for awhile now. I tried to make an appointment at my usual place, but the phone number doesn't work. They must have closed, which really stinks. I hate going somewhere new. I am planning on going Saturday morning to Super Cuts in town. I've never been to one before.
I know their prices are good though. I'm not sure yet just how short I'll go, but I really need a change.
Tomorrow night I'm meeting up with my good friend for a drink. I think Saturday night we are going to my parent's for dinner, and Sunday we are going to Bob's aunt and uncle's for a BBQ. Monday I'm just staying home.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my first Hell Bunny dress. I have it in lavendar, too. But, I like this one the best. I have so many accessories that pair so well with a red dress, too.

So Many Oranges!

Hello there! Yesterday Bob and I went out to PA. We ate a late lunch/early dinner and drinks at Brew Works, one of our favourite restaurants. I had what I always have there; Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese soup dip. It is always delicious! We wanted to sit outside, but ended up not, because it was so overcast and supposed to storm while we were there. It ended up not storming until after we left though, of course. After we left there we headed to The Sands Casino, which is five minutes from the restaurant. We had a couple drinks, and Bob gambled a bit. I only placed one bet, and lost. They have such high minimums, that usually when we go I don't gamble at the tables at all. It was pretty humid yesterday, and is today too.
Today I went to Target, and I'm going to work out, take some outfit pictures, and just relax. Last night Bob and I were talking about what to do for our upcoming anniversary. I think we are going to stay over night in NYC. We have never done that before. It was his idea, and I really like it. I think we will stay in Brooklyn, because we were just planning on going to NYC sometime soon anyway, and the places we want to go to are in Brooklyn. We are going to hit some tiki bars, and some shops, of course!
In the pictures below is the outfit I wore yesterday. It is truly one of my very favourite outfits. I've had the dress for almost a year now, and it is one of my most treasured pieces. I love my new yellow B.A.I.T. heels paired with it! I'm glad that there is some yellow in the skirt part, because I don't have green or orange heels to match the dress.

PUG Separates

Hello there! I'm so glad it's the weekend. And I'm VERY excited to have a three day weekend next weekend! It'll be so very nice to have an extra day off. Last night I met up with my good friend for a drink. Today I'm going to clean, do laundry, and work out. Bob is working today, but after he gets home and showers, we're going to head to Bethlehem to go to Brew Works. I want to sit outside and eat there, but, it depends if it'll be raining then or  not. It's very overcast now. I'm going to brighten the day up though, by wearing my PUG oranges dress.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Pin Up Girl Clothing outfit. It arrived yesterday. This is the first time I've ever ordered a shirt from PUG. I really like both pieces I got. The top will go with a lot of my skirts, which is great. It does show cleavage, but I can just wear a bandeau under it for work/family gatherings. I want the top in red, too. I already had a dress of this same print, and same brand, Heart of Haute. I love the print so much, that I needed the skirt too. I just sold my previus PUG Jenny harlequin skirt, so I figured it'd be nice to have a replacement, that I liked better. I love PUG Jenny dresses, but just am not into the skirts on me.
Speaking of PUG, last night they released a preview of their collection of Amelia & June inspired pieces. (They have a blog called Junebugs & Georgia Peaches.) I'm very excited for the Katie red short sleeve belted dress! I have been wanting a solid red short sleeve dress for awhile now. I already have a 3/4 sleeve red dress with a collar, a halter one, and a sleeveless one. Red dresses are my basics, since I don't wear solid black dresses. I'm pretty sure the collection won't be available until June. It's hard to wait!! I'm glad they did show a preview now though, so I know what I will be ordering! I may just get the one dress. But, there's a couple others that have caught my eye, too. Will have to think it over! I set up alerts, so I'll know the second they are available.

Admit One

Hello there! Tonight I'm just relaxing at home. Last night I met some friends after work that I hadn't seen in awhile. I worked with them at a previous job. It was really nice to catch up. One of them is moving to Florida in a month. The group of us are planning on meeting up again the beginning of June, before she goes. Friday night I'm meeting my good friend for a drink. Saturday Bob and I are going to Brew Works for a late lunch/early dinner and drinks. We were thinking about going last Friday night, but ended up not going. I wanted to sit outside there, but it's supposed to rain. Hopefully that changes! When it's nice out I just love sitting outside and eating/drinking. I want to take adavantage of it as much as possible, before it gets cool out again.
Last night Bob and I watched "Still Alice". I had wanted to see that movie since it came out in theaters. I LOVE Julieanne Moore. She's definitely one of my fav actresses. She won the Oscar for the movie this year. She did do a great job. The movie was sad though, I cried a few times...but, I expected that would happen, ha. Bob and I did not like the ending though. I hate when a movie is good, but has a VERY anti-climatic ending.
Something kind of funny happened today at work. A Fed-Ex delivery guy came in, and he said my dress was colourful...and I was wearing one my least bright/colourful dresses! Ha! Now it wasn't dull by any means, but still...nothing like the dress I'm wearing in the pictures below.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my very first dress I got from Modcloth, over two years ago. I still adore the fun rainbow print! I now prefer to wear dresses a little longer than this one, but that doesn't mean I'll stop wearing this one. I have a few other Modcloth dresses this short, too. I wouldn't wear them to work though.

A Few Of My Favourite Things: New Orleans, Ice Cream, Shoes, & Trashy Diva

Hello there! Today I'm going to my parent's house for Mother's Day. My sister won't be there, since she came home last weekend. My one grandmother will be there, and I think my mom's parents will be there, too. (I know they were just away in Maine, and my mom hadn't been sure what day they were coming back.) I'm also going to work out, and maybe run to Target, since I couldn't go yesterday, because when I went out to my car, my car wouldn't start! Bob and I are watching Anthony Bourdain's show "Parts Unknown" and "Mad Men" tonight, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva French Quarter skirt. It's such a treasured piece in my collection. I bought it from someone on a Trashy Diva fan club group I am in on Facebook. It was two sizes bigger than my other Trashy Diva skirt, so I thought it'd be big on me. But, it's not! It fits perfectly. It definitely runs smaller than my other TD skirt, and it has no give in the waist. My other skirt has give. The outfit I'm wearing represents two of my favourite things: New Orleans and ice cream!

Happy Saturday!

Hello there! I am so happy the weekend is finally here. Last night Bob and I went to a bar in town for some drinks. We rarely go to bars anymore. It's just cheaper to have drinks at home, and in general, I just don't enjoy going to bars that much anymore, except on vacations of course. We also don't have many decent bars around us. I think Bob and I will be going to NYC on a Saturday soon, and going to check out a tiki bar/s! We have only ever been to one tiki bar, and that was in Vegas this last time, and we loved it.
Today I'm cleaning, doing laundry, working out, and going to run to Target, and list some things on eBay. Bob's going to be hanging out with friends in PA soon, but I don't feel like going, especially since none of my friends will be there, ha.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth Bea & Dot record dress. My jukebox Erstwilder brooch goes perfectly with it! I'm also wearing my new BAIT Footwear yellow Beatrice shoes. I am in LOVE with them. I have them in pink too, and have lavendar on the way. They are comfortable, even with a higher heel than my BAIT Idas & Iones (the heel is 3.25 inches on these). I had been wanting a pair of heels this shade of yellow for sooo long, and I'm so glad they finally came out with them. I have two pairs of BAIT wedges in almost this same shade of yellow, but I wanted a pair of heels, as well. They will be coming out with Idas in this colour soon, too, and I will definitely need those as well. I can wear the Idas year round, and these Beatrices I won't be able to wear when it's cold out.
