Out Like A Lamb??

Hello there! This week is nice and short for me; I have a half day tomorrow, and am off on Friday. Can you believe Easter is only a few days away now?!  Unfortunately, the really cold weather was sticking around until only a couple of days ago. It actually hit 50 degrees today, which is definitely an improvement!
I haven't had much going on this week yet. I'll be going to my grandmother's tomorrow night, with Bob and my dad, for pizza. Friday evening Bob and I have an appointment at the bank, regarding our house construction, and Saturday I'll be meeting some friends for lunch.
Well, the bridal shower for my sister last Saturday was a success. My mom helped out a lot, especially with the food! She made a lot of the food, and I helped her get some of it together, and I also made two kinds of cookies. There was about thirty people there, and it was held at my aunt and uncle's house about half an hour or so from me. They have a very big, beautiful home. They both collect antiques, and have very similar interests to my parents' antiquing interests, so I loved seeing their displayed antiques.
Saturday was the first time that I met three of the bridesmaids, and I'll be seeing them all again in two weeks(!!) for the bachelorette party. It was a long day, but the shower itself went by pretty quickly. I posted a couple of pictures below.
In the pictures below I'm my Retrospec'd fruit print dress that I got two years ago at Viva Las Vegas, and have worn tons of times since. It's also the first Retrospec'd dress I ever bought! This is the only print I have in the Peggy style, but I do like this style a lot. Retrospec'd chooses such lovely vintage prints to make reproductions of, and I highly recommend the brand. This is one of my all time favorite prints.
Retrospec'd's quality is quite good, and the dresses are machine washable, which is a HUGE plus in my book!

Vintage Spring

Hello there! Well, I did end up having a snow day yesterday, and I REALLY hope it's the last one of the dang year. Our spring break is shorter now, since we went over the five snow days we had built into our school calendar. Yesterday I was stuck inside all day, and Bob was plowing, and at his dad's house. He's not allowed to park his work truck where we live, so it makes things annoying for him. He had to sleep at his dad's last night, too.
Tomorrow night I'll be starting to get ready for my sister's bridal shower, which starts at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. Saturday I'll be getting ready all morning and in the afternoon until the shower starts, so I'll be busy all Saturday, and Sunday I'm just cleaning, doing laundry, working out, and definitely relaxing.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me vintage floral dress that I got from Etsy. These COLORS!! Pink, orange, and yellow are my favorite colors, and I love them paired together. This dress is a tad shorter than what I prefer, but it's not so much so that I'm uncomfortable. The dress is very comfortable, and it zips easily up the back (I hate side zips!). Isn't it so perfect for spring, too?! The woman I bought the dress from sent me these earrings for free. I actually have pink, orange, and yellow popsicle earrings that I'll pair with the dress next time.

Gone To The Dogs

Hello there! Well, spring is TOMORROW, as per the calendar....but, not so much feeling like it here in NJ. We are supposed to be getting hit with a big snowstorm on Wednesday, and if so, I won't be having work that day. I just can not wait until it actually looks and feels like spring here! It's been a crazy long, painful winter. I have cold fatigue and snow fatigue, big time. I'd love to start seeing flowers blooming, too!
Tomorrow I have an out of office meeting I'm going to, which my mom is also going to, so we're carpooling. So, depending on the weather, I may not be back in the office until Thursday.
I had quite a full weekend. Friday night Bob and I went went to my grandmother's for pizza, and my dad met us there. Later on that night I went to my friend's apartment to visit. Saturday night Bob's friend and his wife and their son came over for dinner. The baby is six months old, and the cutest thing!! We hadn't seen him since he was a month and a half. Sunday I met my friend for lunch at Cheesecake Factory. My chicken salad sandwich was quite good, and it had big pieces of tomato, mmm! The friend I was with is the one whose going to Charleston with me in three and a half weeks. She's driving us down there, and I'm very lucky/grateful she offered to do that. I don't like driving in places I'm not familiar with, so I wouldn't drive there myself, and the plane ticket was crazy expensive.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm meeting a friend at Panera, and Wednesday I was planning on going to the board meeting, but won't be going if we have a snow day that day. Saturday is my sister's bridal shower, so I'll be getting ready for that Friday evening and all day Saturday.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Retrospec'd poodle print dresses (I have two).
While poodles are definitely not one of my favorite dog breeds, the print is super cute! The shoes I'm wearing are BAIT (of course), and I just got them from Modcloth. I hadn't ordered from Modcloth in forever, but I got a coupon code for the site, and they ended up being cheaper to get them from Modcloth than BAITs own site.

Berry Chantilly

Hello there! This week has been fairly quiet so far, but I have plans Friday through Sunday. Tomorrow night I'm having pizza with Bob, my dad, and grandmother, and then I'm seeing a friend. Saturday night Bob's friend and his wife are coming over for dinner, and Sunday I'm going to Cheesecake Factory for lunch with a friend.
I recently took out "Sally's Cookie Addiction" from the library, and have made a couple of items from there, and they turned out well, so I just bought "Sally's Baking Addiction". I'm going to make cookie batter chocolate chip cookies tonight from "Sally's Baking Addiction"; that's her most popular recipe, and is on the cover of the book. I had heard of Sally before, and follow her on Instagram, but never tried out any of her recipes until I took the book out from the library. She has a blog too, and that's how she got her start.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me Trashy Diva Berry Chantilly Trixie dress that I got last month. This dress is made of stretch rayon, and is soooo comfortable. I have this print in the TD 1940s dress, too. I obviously have a thing for adorable fruit prints, and it's clearly reflected in my wardrobe.
I almost passed this dress on, because I first tried it on without a belt or petticoat. I'm glad I didn't give up on the dress, as it looks much better on me with the belt and petticoat. It's a little too cold now to wear this outside, as the material is quite thin. But, I can't wait to wear it when it's FINALLY spring here! Spring is supposed to arrive in five days, and I wish NJ weather would get the memo!

In Like A Lion

Hello there! Today I'll be cleaning, doing laundry, working out, etc. I really like to get the cleaning and laundry over with on Saturday mornings, but I couldn't do them yesterday, as I was in PA with my mom. I didn't buy much yesterday, just some bunnies from Stamm House. We went in three antique malls too, but I didn't find anything. My parents' dog, Heidi, was sleeping on my feet the whole way out and back, which I love.
I already have plans for this upcoming Friday-Sunday, which is definitely busier than my typical weekend. I'm meeting a friend for a drink Friday night, Bob is having his friend and his friend's wife over Saturday night for dinner, and Sunday I'm meeting a friend for lunch at Cheesecake Factory, which I haven't been to a CF in a few years. I love their avocado egg rolls so much though, so I definitely want to get them.
I plan on hitting a local antique mall on Tuesday, during my lunch break. I haven't been there in two and a half months, and it's only 15 minutes from my job. I've been there I think three times so far, and was impressed with it. There's hardly any decent antiquing close to where I live.
I'm just so looking forward to warmer weather; to go outside sans coat, and to not be freezing!! We had two weeks in February of warm weather, and it was such a tease, as now it's been gross out again, and snowing like crazy. We may get hit with another snowstorm tomorrow, too! OVER. it.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Carnival print Annette dress that I got a year ago, and have worn many, many times since. I wore this outfit on Friday to go out to dinner & drinks with Bob at a local pub. We went there right after work, and got back around 7:30 p.m. The skirt on this dress is already quite full, but I did wear my petticoat with it, too.

Rockin' Robin

Hello there! Well, yesterday I had a snow day from work due to the big snow storm that hit us, and today I had a delayed opening. The only full day I've worked so far this week was Tuesday. I definitely starterd to get bored after awhile yesterday, though. I watched "The Shop Around the Corner" with Jimmy Stewart, and that was really good, and he was so cute in it! I also watched trashy TV and worked out and read, but didn't do much else, ha. I really couldn't be MORE ready for spring! Clocks spring ahead this weekend, by the way. Yay, for more sunlight!!
I can't wait for the weekend! Saturday is attempt #2 for my mom and I to go antiquing in PA. It's not supposed to snow again before then, so we should be good to go there. Her dog, Heidi, will be at my feet/on my feet during the journey, which I love. I'm also going out with Bob either Friday or Saturday night for drinks and possibly dinner. My weekends are definitely getting busier, starting this weekend. Next weekend we have plans with Bob's friends, and I have plans with one of my friends, as well. The following weekend is my sister's bridal shower, and the last weekend of the month I have plans with friends, and it's Easter that Sunday....on and on it goes through May.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Retrospec'd robin print dress in the Connie style.
I have more Connies than any other Retrospec'd dress style. Shirt dresses are my jam, if you hadn't noticed.

March Madness

Hello there! Well, it's officially March, and I'm glad about that, but we've been getting slammed with snow & nasty weather, with a huge snowstorm coming our way tomorrow night through Wednesday night! The storm that we got this past Friday had crazy high winds; they were so bad, I had a lot of trouble walking from work to my car in the parking lot. The heavy, wet snow combined with the winds caused many trees to come down, and tons of power outages.
My parents still don't have power, and neither does the school my mom works at. Luckily, Bob and I never lost power, and neither did the school I work at. Bob's dad hasn't had power since Friday though, like my parents.
We are supposed to get 10-14" of heavy, wet snow with this upcoming storm... which is sure to cause MORE power outages, and hopefully we don't lose power, or it's going to be very boring for me, since I won't have work, either. If it's bad enough, I won't have work Thursday also, but I'm hoping I get to go back Thursday. In like a lion, out like a lamb??
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth sock hop skirt that I got from eBay about three years ago. I love the adorable print, and I love pairing my Erstwilder jukebox brooch with this skirt; I think they're perfect together. Vivien of Holloway is releasing new print in a couple of weeks, and I've got my eye on their new record print. I only own one item of theirs so far. I have some money left in my Paypal account, and hopefully I still will by the time the dress is released.
