Hello there! Tomorrow my mom and I are going antiquing together in Adamstown, PA, along with her doggy, Heidi. Heidi sleeps on my feet the whole way out and back, and keeps them nice and warm! She's a Sheltie, so she has LOTS of beautiful, warm fur. She's obsessed with my mom, and never wants to leave her side. I'm very excited to go to Adamstown, as it's the BEST place to go antiquing, and I haven't been in six months! I used to hate going there as a child, when my parents dragged my sister and me, and now it's one of my favorite places. Isn't that funny the way things work??
Today Bob and I are just staying in, which is nice, after all of the family holiday get togethers as of late. Yesterday I was happily surprised to get out of work really early, at 11:30, and I then I met my mother, sister, and grandparents for lunch, and after that my sister stopped over my apartment. Monday we'll be going to Bob's favorite restaurant for an early dinner, and then out for a drink, and Tuesday we'll be going to his dad's for an early dinner.
My Christmas was good; I got a lot of great things! The biggest gift was a Heywood Wakefield corner cupboard that my parents gave us. I can't wait to use it in our house, to displays some of antiques on. I have almost no room to display things in our apartment now.
Since that was such a big gift, my parents just gave me a few small things, like a vintage Christmas rug, vintage Holt Howard Santa salt and pepper shakers, some ornaments, etc.
Bob really impressed me; he picked everything out on his own, and got me a set of vintage Shiny Brites that I REALLY love. They're pretty colorful, and most of them are indent ornaments, which are my favorites. He didn't even know that, he just lucked out!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Pinup Girl Clothing Birdie dress. I have one other Birdie, but it's 3/4 sleeve. I love the Birdie style. To me, it's pretty quintessential 50's.
I wore this outfit on Christmas Eve, when Bob and I went to church, and my aunt and uncle's house. The colors in it are obviously perfect for Christmas. I got it second hand a few months or so ago for a great price, and hadn't worn it out yet.

Bring Out The Dogs
Hello there! Friday night Bob and I went out for a couple of drinks, and yesterday I ran a couple of errands, and I met up with friends for lunch. Today we'll both just be staying in, as is a typical Sunday for us. Bob does a lot of cooking on Sundays, so that takes up a good chunk of his day. The only good thing about this weekend winding down, is that Christmas is soooo soon, along with a lot of days of work! I will be off next Saturday-Wednesday, and then again that Saturday-Tuesday. So, 9 days off in total; pretty exciting! Work has been pretty hectic lately, and has been so off and on since mid August, so I'm really looking to a lot of time off to decompress from it.
I wrapped most of the presents I've bought last night, and I'm officially all done Christmas shopping, which is great.
If my parents are feeling better tomorrow (they've both been sick with a stomach virus), Bob and I will be meeting them tomorrow at my great uncle's house for belated birthday cake for my dad and great uncle's birthdays. Friday I'm getting out of work early, because there's a work Christmas party.
In the pictures below I'm wering my new The Oblong Box Shop Christmas skirt. I first saw a picture of the skirt over a month or so ago, and the shop said it was coming in the beginning of December. I eagerly stalked their Instagram and signed up for an email alert, to know when it would become available. I quickly snatched it up when it launched. The print is adorable, with little dogs, Christmas tree, candy canes, etc. Another thing I love about the skirt is that the background color is pink. I love a Christmas print with a lot of pink in it.
The skirt is a couple of inches too big in the waist for me, but it does run pretty true to the size chart. I was between sizes, so I sized up. Better than to have it be loose, than too tight, though, right?? I think it looks cute worn with my red belt, anyway.

Kitschmas Countdown
Hello there! Well, the countdown to Christmas is REALLY on now, and my brain is going Kitschmas crazy. It's been so fun going to antique shows and shops with my mom lately. The antique show we went to today was primarily vintage Christmas. I snagged a bottle brush tree from a dealer that my mom and I both love, and my mom has bought a lot from her over the years. I picked out an ornament and an adorable vintage card with a snowman on it (that I'll display) for my mom to give me at Christmas.
The antique mall I went to after the show had a decent amount of Christmas out, much more than they do the rest of the year. I got a super cute Christmas tin and a very small blow mold snowman. I also stopped at a small antique shop I had never been to, but I didn't get anything there.
Bob and I went to my aunt and uncle's for Thanksgiving, and my parents and all of my grandparents came. The food was great; my mom brought her sweet potatoes and stuffing; my favorite sides. Bob worked on Friday, and my mom and I did our version of Black Friday: antique shopping. We went a couple of hours away to antique in Pennsylvania, and had a fun day. We got stuck in Black Friday shopper traffic on our way home, which I don't understand why there was no traffic in the morning...don't most people go out first thing?! But, what made getting stuck worse was we were running on empty for gas, and drove half an hour with the gas light on...but, we made it to a station, thankfully.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me Pinup Girl Jenny ornament dress. It came up last year, but I missed out on it when it was available, and I recently snagged it secondhand, at a great price. I knew it'd probably be a tight fit on my chest, but luckily it does fit. I just adore the Shiny Brite ornmanet print on it! I also have a skirt from PUG with a Shiny Brite print on it, but the print is a lot bigger in scale. I'll be wearing the heck out of both of them this season! I wore the dress while antiquing with my mom today and yesterday, ha.

Happy October
Hello there! This weekend's been a fairly quiet one; I haven't done much outside of the apartment, except that I went to an antique mall yesterday and ran an errand. I only spent $6 at the antique mall, which was great! I got a vintage bottle of McCall's maple syrup, still in the original box.
We've been inundated with rain and gloom here for weeks now, off and on, but mostly on, although today it's not supposed to rain. But, unfortunately, this Tuesday-Thursday rain is predicted, and we REALLY don't need anymore. I think our local rivers are very high now.
Next weekend will be busier; I'm going to Pyrex Palooza on Saturday (another antique show/event where the focus is on Pyrex, but they'll also have other kitchenware and housewares). I just found out about the event this past week (it's their first year), and was so excited to see how close to my town it is! It's only about 35 minutes away, which is much closer than many shows/events I go to. I'm really looking forward to going, and I still have birthday money to spend! On Friday night I'm meeting a friend for a drink, too.
Antique show season really starts up in the beginning of November. There's a toy and holiday show the first weekend of November, and then the weekend of Thanksgiving there's a holiday show, as well as the first weekend of December. I can't wait!
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Pinup Girl Clothing Halloween skirts (I have two), that I picked up during the huge sale this summer. I think I paid $35 or $40 for it. I loved this print as soon as it was released last fall, but resisted buying it, since I already had another PUG Halloween skirt. But, when I saw how marked down it was this summer, I couldn't pass it up! I really don't have much purple in my wardrobe, but it's not that I don't like the color. I think this print is absolutely adorable! My Luxulite Halloween necklace goes pretty perfectly with the skirt, too.

Bella
Hello there! We are very much in the middle of a heat wave right now, today being the hottest day thus far, and it's not supposed to cool down much until Friday. The high today was 97! I was going to go to the pool, but just ended up staying here in the air conditioning all day. Yesterday Bob and I were in the city all day, with friends, and it was just as hot.
Bob and I hadn't been to the city in three years, despite not living that far away from it.
Bob does not like going, and there are definitely things I don't enjoy about it either, but this time the travel was better, as we drove farther out then we have before, so we only had a ten minute, $4 train ride each way, which is much improved from the $30, hour and 40 minute ride each way that we used to do! We had fun spending the day with our friends, eating and drinking; is there really anything else to do in the city, ha??
Tomorrow night I'm meeting a friend for dinner at Panera, and on 4th of July Bob and I are going to his aunt and uncle's house for a bbq. Friday night we''ll be going to my parents' to have cake for my mom's birthday, and after that Bob and I are meeting my friend for a drink. Saturday we'll be FINALLY getting back to New Hope!! I can't wait; it's been a year since we were there, and we usually go two or three times a year. The weather is supposed to be good too, 80 and sunny, fingers crossed it stays that way.
I've been watching "Bates Motel" the past few days, and am on season three now. I had never seen it before. I'm definitely hooked. It would be hard to find two people crazier than the mother and son in the show!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Pinup Girl Clothing Bella Donna dress in the Italian Landscape print. It's so rare to find a dress with a bright yellow background. I got this dress a few months ago through a Facebook swap & sell group, and I did a blog post back then featuring this dress.
I also have a Retrospec'd dress with a gorgeous Italian canal print. Someday I'll get to Italy! Hopefully next summer, fingers crossed. Ireland and Italy are my top two destinations I want to get to, and although I've been to Germany once before, I do really want to go back there, this time with Bob.

Gloria
Hello there! Today's another gorgeous, sunny, warm day. We've had a string of them lately, and it's been much needed. It's going to be 93 degrees on Monday, too!! I know Bob isn't happy about working outside in that HOT weather. Hopefully the humidity doesn't soar, too.
Tomorrow night Bob and I are going to my parents' house, along with his father, for dinner. Sunday afternoon we're going out to eat with Bob's family at a local Italian restaurant.
It's supposed to be sunny this weekend too, which is great.
Bob and I are excited to go to a rockabilly show this coming Thursday, for our anniversary!
We'll also be celebrating next Saturday, but I'm not sure yet what we'll be doing. I have my fingers crossed for a day trip. Bob has so many hobbies, that he doesn't like to go out too much on weekends, which can be frustrating for me. I have hobbies too, but I also like to take advantage of the great weather, and go out on weekends in the late spring-fall!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my other new PUG dress that I got for 50% off during the PUG Memorial Day sale. This Gloria dress was part of a line of clothing items that were a collaboration with the fabulous Americana Ambassador, Charles Phoenix. I adore this tiki print, and can't wait to wear this dress at Tiki Oasis! I'm wearing my usual PUG size, and it is quite tight on my chest, but fits my waist well. I added the yellow belt; it came with my PUG lobster print dress that I blogged about in my last blog post. I was happy to see the yellow belt matches the yellow in this dress exactly.

Rock Lobster
Hello there! Bob and I had a good weekend. Saturday in the late afternoon we headed to my friend's surprise birthday party, which was about 40 minutes from where we live. She really was surprised, which was great! Her mom started planning it a year in advance, and there were around forty people there. We stayed there until 9:30 p.m., and then we headed to a nearby bar with my friend and a few of her other friends. The night was a lot of fun, and most importantly, my friend had a lot of fun, and got to see friends who she doesn't get to see often, because they live far away. Bob and I also to meet her boyfriend for the first time, which was great; he's very nice and very personable.
This weekend we'll be having a lot of family time (Father's Day is Sunday); we'll be going to my parents' house for dinner on Saturday night, along with Bob's father, and Sunday we'll be going out to dinner with his family.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Pinup Girl Clothing lobster print Harley dress. I snagged this dress and another one during the 50% off Memorial Day sale. Both of them fit me really well, and I love this adorable lobster print! Even though I wanted both of the dresses I got when they first came out, I'm glad I was patient and waited until I got them for a great deal. The yellow belt came with this dress. I have three PUG belts like this, and I really like them. I like the contrasting yellow straps on the dress, too.

Something's Fishy
Hello there! It's been so rainy and dreary here for about a week, that it feels like the Pacific Northwest. I'm so over it. Today it at least got warmer; in the mid 70's. It had been in the 50's, and our heat was turned off weeks ago, so it's been cold in our apartment. My treadmill broke about a week ago, so I've only been able to exercise outdoors, which is fine, except for all of this rain! So, I've had to work around that. I had the treadmill six years, and it's twenty years old ha, so I can't complain too much that it fnally broke. It's much nicer to work out outdoors, anyway.
Yesterday Bob and I went to his uncle's 60th birthday party. I also took my car to inspection (it passed, luckily!) and went to Target. Nashville is only two days away now (!!!), so I'm getting things in line before we leave. I have to run some errands tomorrow, finish packing, and I'm seeing my friend for dinner.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Pinup Girl Clothing/Charles Phoenix collaboration Jenny dress. I love how colorful this dress is, naturally! Any chance to wear an armful of rainbow Bakelite is great for me. I'll defnitely be bringing this dress to San Diego in August.
I missed out on the dress when it originally landed on the site a couple of months ago, but was glad they re-stocked it! I used a 20% off coupon too.

Pink & Green
Hello there! Happy Friday! This afternoon I'm seeing my mom, and tomorrow Bob and I are going out to eat & for drinks in the afternoon, and Sunday we'll be going to my parents' house for mother's day (and all my grandparents will be there, too).
Bob and I leave for Nashville in a week and a half!! To say I'm psyched is an understatement. It'll be so nice to get away with him for a few days. We'll just be quite busy between attending the Boogie, and also trying to hit all the restaurants and shopping on our list!
I can't wait to go away and decompress. Life has been stressful as of late, so this is coming at quite the perfect time.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new PUG Edie dress that I got during their 50% off sale recently (and I also had a 10% coupon!). I had been eyeing this print since it was released about a year ago, but never made the plunge. I'm glad I did now, though! I love the style of this dress and the print. Pink and green is such a pretty color combo. The dress fits great, too. I have another Edie dress, but it's super tight, even though it's in the same size. This one is definitely more comfortable. These green BAIT shoes match the green in the dress quite well, which I had been hoping they would. This dress is a MUST to bring to San Diego/Palm Springs!

Tiki Tiles
Hello there! It felt like summer yesterday, and evidently it's going to stay that way through the weekend. Yesterday I took a walk/job/run outside, which I hadn't done in years.
I normally just work out on my treadmill, but since it was so beautiful out yesterday, I wanted to get outside, and I'm glad that I did.
I'll be meeting my friend for dinner tonight, and tomorrow afternoon I'm getting my nails done with my mom and sister. I haven't gotten a pedicure since right before my wedding four years ago, ha, so I'm looking forward to it. Friday is the rehersal & rehersal dinner, and then I'm sleeping over my parent's house.
We leave for Nashville in twenty days, and I've of course been thinking heavily about what outfits I'll be bringing! I just can't wait to get away with Bob; we haven't gone away together (other than to the shore in September) in a year! I just can't wait to get away from everything here, and have an amazing time with him.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Pinup Girl Clothing tiki tiles Jenny dress that I got a couple of months or so ago, from a Facebook group, and now it's warm enough to wear it outside, sans layers! I missed it when it originally was released last summer, but I'm glad I was still able to snag one. I'll definitely be bringing this to Tiki Oasis in three(!!) months!!
By the way, Bob and I got our Tiki O tickets this past Sunday. and I'm so relieved! I was sitting in front of the computer, waiting for the ticket release, and as soon as they went live, I got them. I was concerned about them selling out, and evidently some types of tickets have already sold out.
