Little Houses

Hello there! So, it's back to being bitterly cold again. Eck, I'm so over it! Thank God spring is less than a month away! I'm so ready for it to be here. Now that there are only three days left in the month, it's making me feel more optimistic about the weather, because I know the end is surely in sight. It's also been oh, so nice to have it be lighter out for longer!! Love that so much. It's much less depressing to leave work when it's still light out.
I'm having my hair trial for the wedding this Saturday! I'm excited for it, and am showing them pictures of what I want done. I'm sure they'll do a great job with it. When I showed my mom and friend the pictures of the hair style they both really loved it. I think it's gorgeous, too- front the front and back.
The pictures below were taken on Sunday, when it was much warmer out. I have four dresses with a house print on them, and all four are from Modcloth. This one is definitely my favourite of them all. The colours in it are simply amazing! My fav colour combo ever is bright pink, orange, and yellow, and this dress has those colours predominantly in it.I also love how those colours pair with lime, which is also in this dress. And my necklace matches so well with it! I got the necklace last summer from Francesca's Collections, and it was such a great find!

Gorgeous Weekend

Hello there! It was so nice to wear a short dress out last night, with a light coat over it, and not be totally freezing! Although, by the time we left the resaturant/bar, I was pretty cold when we walked back to the car. When we got to Brew Works, we were told it would be between 45 minutes and an hour wait for a table. I was already hungry, so that didn't make me happy. But, Bob found a high top table by the bar, and we asked if we could sit there, and luckily we could. (Turns out it's a self-seating section by the bar.) So, that worked out well. I had what I always have there: soft pretzels and beer cheese soup dip. Soooo amazing!
After some drinks and food, we went to the downstairs bar area. That was pretty crowded, too. More so than usual when we've been there. So, we couldn't sit at the bar. But, we sat on ottomans in the same room, and after a little while some people got up, and left a couch, so we moved to the couch. We don't go out by ourselves much, for dinner and/or drinks. So, it was nice to do that. Four months from this past Friday is our wedding! And four months from today we leave for the honeymoon. I'm just so excited for the honeymoon! And to be off of work for two and a half weeks. It'll be MUCH needed.
Yesterday I took some pictures outside, it was way too beautiful out to miss that opportunity. I'll be taking more pictures outside today, as well. It's also beautiful out today! In the pictures below I'm wearing a Modcloth dress. It has U.S. states/cities all over it. I love the print so much. It's very appropriate for me, since I'm a big traveler. It also matches quite well with my orange/redish colour B.A.I.T. Footwear spectators, that I received a week ago. (Got them half off!!)

A Whole Lotta Red

Hello there! It's really warmed up the past couple of days, and I love it. It really feels like spring. But, unfortunatly this is just a tease....it's going to be freezing again next week. But, for now it's time to enjoy it, and the bright sunshine. I must take some outside pictures this weekend, too!
I'm going to clean the apartment, do laundry, and work out. And then I'm heading up to my parent's in the afternoon, to try on the other veil my mom made me. (The first one didn't work.) I'm also going to try on another bra with my wedding dress, and pray that it works with it! And tonight Bob and I are going out to eat and for drinks at Brew Works, I'm excited for it. We don't go out to eat much, and also don't go out for drinks much anymore.
It's been an odd week...Bob and I were supposed to meet with my pastor on Thursday, but that got cancelled due to pastor being sick. Then yesterday I was supposed to meet up with two friends, (at different places.) and they both cancelled. Also today, my mom was going to take me to a specialty shop to look for a bra, in case mine doesn't work with the dress. But, she cancelled for that, as well. I'm okay with her cancelling that, because I really wasn't looking forward to going! Looking for bras that fit is stressful enough, let alone with other people there with me. (Whoever would be helping me in the store, and my mom.) I get stressed easily in that type of situation...I don't like when people are focusing so much on me/my body.
But, I am really looking forward to my hair trial next Saturday! I found a hair style online that I really love. So, I'm going to show them the pictures of it, and I'm sure they'll be able to re-create it. It's a similar style to what they did to my hair for when I was a maid of honor in a friend's wedding.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress my mom gave me for Christmas. (I picked it out.) It's my only Hell Bunny brand item of clothing, and I love it! It's a very bright shade of red, which I of course love. The purse is also a nice, bright shade of red, and I love them paired together. This is actually my only piece of polka dot clothing.

Liebster Blog Award! Thank You Ashley!

I'm so honored that Ashley of  the Not Your Average Ashley blog nominated me for this liebster blog award. I really enjoyed reading Ashley's responses, it's fun to get to know bloggers a little more.
Here are my responses to her questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I wanted and needed an outlet to express my creativity. I have an English degree, and I love to write, but I have not been able to use my degree because of our crappy economy. At the job I'm at currently, I don't have any way to use my creativity.
So, blogging is the perfect outlet for me, because I love and always have loved fashion and colour. So, I get to combine my love of fashion and writing!

2. How did you come up with the name of your blog?
I love wearing bright colours/rainbows! Everyone who knows me, or even sees me regularly knows that. I get comments all the time from friends, family, and strangers about the bright colours I wear.

3. What's the best place you've ever visited?
My favourite place is Las Vegas. I've been with my fiance Bob four times, and also went once with a friend. I dream about it a lot, I'm always wanting to go back! It's just so much fun. There's so much to do and see. I love the feeling of it, almost everyone there is on vacation, and in great spirits, it's an awesome atmosphere to be in.
I am quite the traveler. I've been to thirty-five states and three countries so far. I'm very lucky; my parents took my sister and I on a trip every summer to different areas of the country. Once we went to Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. Another year we flew to California, and drove up California to Oregon, Washington, and then went to British Columbia!

4. Do you have any hidden talents? If yes, what are they?
Not really...the only thing I can think of is that I'm good with quickly doing percentages and multiplying, dividing, etc in my head. I can do it faster than my fiance, and he has a math degree! I can also read and type really fast.

5. What's your favorite thing about yourself?
Personality wise- my compassion/empathy that I have for people and animals.
Asthetically- I just really love my style! It's really evolved over the years, and I love the place I'm at now!

6. What's a hobby/activity you would like to learn but haven't tried yet?
Sewing! My mom and one of my grandmothers are great at it, and I should've learned a long time ago.

7. Do you have any pets? If yes, what are they?
I don't at my apartment....but, my parents have two cats and a dog! I love going home to visit them. I do consider the one cat to be mine though, I pay the most attention to her, and always have since they got her. She's such a beauty! She's a Maine Coon cat. That is by far my favourite cat breed. Cats are my favourite animals, too!

8. What's your favorite piece of clothing?
It's so hard to narrow it down!! I think I have three favourite pieces, and they're all dresses. I love dresses so much. There's nothing more flattering on me than a dress that fits perfectly.
Here are pictures:

9. Read the book or watch the movie? Explain your choice!
That's a really hard one to answer! I am an avid reader...and I also love watching movies. Almost always the book is better than the movie. I can't really choose. I like to read the book, and then watch the movie.

10. What's your favorite type of music and why?
My favourite type is rock..from the 50's-70's. I like some newer music too, but not much. I just love how music was back then, not nearly as processed as it is today, and with people who could really sing!

11. When was the last time you had a day that was "The Best Day Ever?" What did you do?
When I got engaged! My fiance Bob proposed just after midnight on August 2, 2013, while we were on vacation in Virginia Beach! We were walking along the ocean, and he got down on one knee. We're getting married June 21st.

Take A Ride on Route 66

Hello there! Ahh, I'm so very glad to have off today, for Presidents' Day! Bob has to work today. I like to be at least somewhat productive on days off. I love to relax too, but I can't do it all day and night. This morning I finished reading a book, and talked to my mom on the phone. I'm going to work out soon, and I think I'll watch "Life of Pi" later on. I haven't seen that movie yet, but have wanted to for awhile. I took it out of the library recently. I really love going to the library, I go every week. I get out magazines, books, and DVDs.
This Thursday Bob and I are meeting with my Pastor, and I think this is our last meething before we go for the rehersal. Our wedding is in four months and four days! To me that sounds pretty darn close. My next wedding related appointment is on Saturday, March 1st. I'm going to the salon for my hair trial. The salon is only two minutes from my apartment, so that's great.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth Route 66 dress. I got it back in October. I don't have too many dresses/clothes with this much black in them. But, I don't mind at all in this dress! There's such a great, fun, quirky print on the dress, and plenty of colours in it.
These are my newest pair of B.A.I.T. Idas! I got them half off on their website! I had been checking back periodically to see if they would ever have my size in them. I figured they wouldn't ever get them back, because they are a final sale item. (You can't return them.) But, to my surprise and delight, last week they had all sizes available!! I snatched up a size nine immediately. They are more red than orange, (I thought they'd be more orange.) but I can deal with that. I already had a pair of red Idas, but they are a very different shades of red. I want Idas in every colour! They are simply the best shoes. They are comfortable and so pretty, and pair so well with so many dresses/skirts.
Pin Up Girl Clothing keeps posting pictures on their Instagram of new spring and summer clothing that they will be getting in the next couple month or so. I've seen a few items that I really want, and it's hard to wait for them to become available!!

When The Obsession Started

Hello there! I'm so excited that this is a three day weekend, and I have off tomorrow as well! Bob doesn't have off tomorrow. The next time we get off of work is for Memorial Day, over three months away! That's the longest gap between work holidays, for the whole year. (Trust me, I've analyzed this, ha.)
Well, today it's NOT supposed to snow, so that is a much needed reprieve! But, it it supposed to snow/rain Tuesday. By Friday though, it's supposed to be 50 degrees! I am soooo looking forward to that!
Today Bob and I are mostly just hanging out here. I'm going to work out and read, and maybe go to Panera later on. We're going to watch "Dallas Buyer's Club." I really wanted to see it when it was in theaters, but we didn't end up going. It just became availabe On Demand, so I'm happy about that! Also my mom is stopping by later. I believe she's bringing my veil, she just finished making it yesterday. But, she did she thinks the colour may be wrong...so, *fingers crossed* that the colour will be okay!! If it's not an exact match, I'm okay with that.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my very first Modcloth dress. I got it a year ago, back when the obsession with Modcloth dresses was just a little seed....now it's grown into a tree! Ha. I still love it so. Love the rainbow colours, the quirky print, and of course the fit & flare shape of it. Perfection. So many accessories, cropped cardigans/shrugs, and shoes match with it, which is also a bonus!

Snow Fatigue

Hello there! It seems we are in a never ending vortex of snow. We got hit with a MAJOR snowstorm Wednesday night nto early Friday. I think we got about 14". Then today we got a couple more. It is seriously disgusting me. It makes everything so much more difficult, especially for Bob! He's been doing so much plowing that he's barely home. And when he is home, he's just getting things done that he hasn't been able to. He just left a few minutes ago to go plow/salt more! He was only home about two hours today. So, he's only getting Sunday as a weekend for himself.
Trying to get out of my apartment complex yesterday morning to get to work was VERY tough. Luckily, I had thought to ask Bob if he had a shovel before he left. The snow was piled so high on either side of my car that I could barely get inbetween it and the car to get in my car, and to shovel snow out from under my tires. I kept sliding trying to get in there. On top of that, the snow was so heavy and ice-like. I tried to back my car out about four times, but could barely move it at all before it would get stuck. A neighbor happened to be outside and asked to borrow my shovel for his car. I gave it to him, and told him I couldn't get out of my spot. He pushed the front of my car, as I put it in reverse, and luckily that did the trick. If he hadn't been there, I don't think I could have gotten out.
Another issue is, since the snow is piled so high everywhere, it's extremly dangerous to make turns at stop signs; the snow is blocking your vision!! Ugh!! Someone make it stop.
Today a make up artist came over and did a make up trial for me. She was really nice, and talked almost the whole time, which I liked, because I don't like when I get my hair done and the stylist is silent. (I had never gotten my make up done until today.) I really like how it turned out! She put false eyelashes on me, I had never tried them before. They look so great! I told her I didn't want to look too overdone, and I think she did the right amount of make up. When she first did my red lipstick, I thought it was too dark, and not bright enough. So, she re-did it, and I love how it turned out. It's a nice cherry red. I already made up my mind to have her do my make up on the wedding day.
Bob gave me flowers yesterday, and one of them in the bouquet was a rainbow rose!! I had never gotten one before, and he knows how much I love them. It's so gorgeous, and just perfect for me.
In the pictures below, I'm wearing the Pin Up Girl Clothing dress Bob gave me for Christmas. I love it sooo much. I think the print is amazing, the colours are great, and I love the shape of the dress. I think my Luxulite brooch and necklace pair so well with it, too.
