Candyland Christmas

Hello there! Yesterday felt a lot like Sunday to Bob and I, so I am very glad even though this weekend is going extremly fast, we still have today off. I made more Christmas cookie dough and wrote most of the Christmas cards. I also bought a couple more presents yesterday. Our tree is up and decorated! And the all my Christmas decorations are out. Love how the apartment looks when it's decorated for Christmas. It's a Christmas Candyland.
I've been trying to restrain myself with the Black Friday-Cyber Monday deals! So far I've only bought two dresses from Heart of Haute. Well, I did also get two skirts from Modcloth a few days ago, and they were half off as part of the pre Black Friday sale. If I hadn't already bought a lot in November, I would've bought more this weekend. I had been eyeing a Pin Up Girl Clothing dress for awhile, but I held back. Their 30% off sale was only on Friday. I've also been holding back on buying a Trashy Diva dress...but their sale is still going on ha, so I could still order it.
Oh yea, I also bought a couple decorations. I bought an ice cream cone ornament, and a wood die cut ice cream cone to hang on the wall in our kitchen. I got them from a shop I just discovered! Well, someone on Instagram told me I should check out the shop, and they were right! The link is: http://everydayisaholiday.bigcartel.com. They have the cutest things! It's almost all food items, with a emphasis on baking/sweets, so of course that is right up my alley. I'm eyeing other items on the site, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my beloved Hell Bunny Flamingo dress. I don't care that it's a "tropical/summery" dress, I want to wear it year-round.

Fruity Friday

Hello there! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was pretty good. My sister emailed me, saying my mom and her arrived in Germany! I'm so excited for them. I know they will have an amazing time. They will be emailing me throughout the trip, updating me on what they are doing. And I can't wait to see the pictures! I was in Germany and Austria with my mom nine years ago.
I don't do any Black Friday shopping in stores, but I am definitely checking things out online. I have a few tabs open with different websites; I'm trying to make my mind up! It's really hard not to buy things, because most of the sites I'm looking at never have sitewide sales.
I will be taking pictures of my decorated apartment, especially my tree, and will post them in a blog post. Bob brought home the (fake) tree last night. We keep at his parents house during the rest of the year, since we don't have the room for it here.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth, Bea & Dot brand fruity dress. I don't care that it looks quite "summery", I will wear it in all seasons! The only thing is, the material is pretty thin, ha. So, I won't be wearing it on the coldest winter days, that's for sure. But, it really is one of my favourite dresses. As soon as it hit the Modcloth site, I knew I had to have it. It just screams my name. My Luxulite necklaces and brooches look so perfect with it, too!

A Dress & Keds

Hello there! Well, today we got our first significant snowfall since last February. So, it begins again. It's snowed about three or four inches so far. Andddd I hate snow. With a passion. As soon as the last snowfall comes from the end of the previous winter, I dread so much when it will start again. I'm having a very hard time trying to convince Bob to move to the south. Even though he's not a fan of snow/winter either.
I left work a little early today; they closed at 3. Bob was going to pick me up (he plows), but he called and said the roads on my way home were fine, so I drove. I was nervous in the beginning, but luckily they were all fine.
But, I am SO glad my four day weekend has begun! It's finally arrived. Tomorrow I'm heading to my grandparents for Thanksgiving dinner, at 1:30. I'm so excited to decorate the apartment, too. I'll be doing that on Friday. I already decorated a little bit. But, it'll feel complete once the tree is up and decorated!
My mom and sister leave for Germany and Austraia tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited to see what they bring back for me! I know I'll at least be getting some painted egg tree ornaments. I already have a few. I got some when I was in Austria, and some of them my mom brought back for me a couple years ago.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Hell Bunny dress. I love the shade of blue in the dress; I don't have many clothes that are that shade/have that shade of blue in them. I don't normally wear sneakers with dresses or skirts, but I just love my Keds rainbow sprinkles sneakers so much! And since I barely ever wear pants, I really don't get to wear these sneakers much. The blue laces almost exactly match the blue of the dress.

Nesting Dolls

Hello there! Today I'm going to make Christmas cookie dough for the first time this year My mom starts making it months ahead of time. She makes thousands of cookies. I definitely do not make that many! Last year I only made two different kinds of Christmas cookies. I'm also going to work out, read, and Bob and I are going to watch some "House Of Cards". We got out the second season from the library this week. Bob is more into the show than I am, but, I don't mind watching it. And Kevin Spacey is one of my favourite actors.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Heart of Haute skirt. The print is of Russian nesting dolls. I love that there's so many colours in the print! I can pair the skirt with so many shoes, shirts and jewelry. Love having lots of options. This is the second Heart of Haute skirt I've bought. The two skirts I have are a little bit big, I may order a size down next time. Since I absolutely hate returning/exchanging items in the mail, I tend to order a size up, if I'm on the fence about which size to get.
Heart of Haute has some really cute, colourful prints! There is a pink harlequin print in the "coming soon" section of their webiste, I'm keeping my eye out for it. Harlequin is one of my favourite prints.

Cherry Jubilee

Hello there! Luckily my hand is a lot better now, it's just a little sore. It doesn't hurt to type anymore, or use the mouse. I'm so glad I didn't have to go to the doctor. I'm not doing that much today. I'm meeting up with my mom soon for a little while and her dog though. I asked her to bring Heidi. She's a Sheltie. When I get home from that I'm cleaning the apartment, doing laundry, and working out.
Bob's making a white pizza tonight with tomato and broccoli on it! He made this white pizza for the first time last week, and we both loved it. But, we knew it would be even better with tomato and broccoli on it! Tomatos are my favourite vegetable...or fruit...whichever it is, ha!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Bernie Dexter dress I recently scored on eBay! I only paid about half the price of a normal Bernie dress. It's a size bigger than I normally wear, but I can deal with that, because this dress was so hard to find! I looked for a long time. You can't really tell it's big with the belt on.
I've been really lucky lately with eBay and Bernie Dexter dresses. I'm getting one for Christmas too, that my mom got from eBay. (I picked it out.) I've also sold a couple of items on eBay recently, which I'm very happy about!
I'm about halfway done buying Christmas gifts for people. I'm glad that so far I haven't bought any gift cards! Usually it's hard for me to buy for most people in my life, so I end up buying gift cards sometimes. But, I don't like to have to do that all the time. Bob and my mom gave me ideas for what they want, so that was great.
I can't wait to get done with the work week next week! So happy it's only three days. I'm going to my grandparent's house for Thanksgiving. My parents and sister are leaving there around four, because my mom and sister are going to Germany, and my dad is driving them to the airport! Germany is one of my mom's favourite places. I went with her once, nine years ago.

Gingerbread Men!

Hello there! This post is going to be quite short for now, because tonight I fell and landed on my right hand, and the top of my hand and bottom of my three middle fingers are hurting me, so it's not too fun to type. Hopefully this goes away soon! One good thing is: I'm left-handed!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a new Modcloth skirt. I love the pattern! It's so adorable, and just perfect for Christmas time. Gingerbread men are one of my favourite decorations.
I haven't worn it outside of the apartment yet, but definitetly will soon. It's Folter brand. Folter has such amazing, cute prints! I have a lot of dresses and skirts that are Folter.

So Many Desserts!

Hello there! Today I'm meeting my good friend for lunch at Panera. Other than that, I don't have much on the schedule for today, besides working out. I'll just be relaxing with Bob. I placed my first order yesterday for Christmas gifts! Got a couple of items for my mom and for Bob.
I just have to get through this work week, and then it's a three day work week the following week. Can not wait for that! My family is going to my grandparent's for Thanksgiving, and my sister will be home for it. On Black Friday Bob has to work, but I'll be home, decorating the apartment for Christmas, including our (fake) tree. I can't wait to do that! I already put a few decorations out in the apartment.
In the pictures below I'm wearing the latest dress that my mom made me. The print is pretty busy, but what else is new for me? Ha! It could definitely be a Christmas time dress, but I think I can get away with wearing it year round, because the only "real" Christmas-y items on the dress, are some little gingerbread men. The rest of the items are just general desserts: pie, ice cream, donuts, cake.

A Bernie Christmas

Hello there! My parents are coming over for dinner tonight. They haven't done that in quite awhile. Bob is making chicken quesidallas and broccoli cheddar risotto. Both of those dishes are two of my favourite dishes that he makes! And I'm making chocolate chip cookies.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Bernie Dexter dress. I bought it off of eBay, for about half the price of Bernie Dexter dresses. I was bummed when I missed out on this dress last year; Modcloth was selling it, and I didn't want to spend the money at the time. I ADORE the print on this! I think it is the most perfect Christmas-y dress. There is pink in it, which is great because I can wear it with my pink B.A.I.T. Idas. I got my usual Bernie size, and it *just* zips over my bust. That is always my concerns with dresses, but I'm so glad this fits. I have to wear it with a bandeau for family festivities though! It shows a lot of cleavage otherwise, ha. The only downside to this dress is that I don't think I'll be wearing it any other time of the year, because of the print.
