Fruit Explosion

Hello there! The weather has still been so nice here. It's been sunny & in the upper 70's/low 80's during the day, and been pretty cool overnight. I'm not doing much tonight, and Bob is at his friend's house. Friday night I'm going to Panera with my grandmother, and later on my mom is stopping by the apartment. Saturday Bob and I are going to my company picnic. Also, on Saturday it will be a year since Bob and I got engaged!
It's amazing how much of my wardrobe is food-related! I have so many dresses with fruit or sweets on them, and also a lot of food jewelry! This dress is absolutely one of my very favourite dresses. It's so darn adorable, bright, and cheery! Plus I think it's flattering, and it's lightweight, which is perfect for summer. Because it's so lightweight I don't wear a brooch with it. I'm afraid of really damaging the fabric. I wear my Luxulite brooches as much as I can, but there are a few articles of clothing where the material is just too delicate for it.

A Cherry On Top

Hello there! Isn't summer just the best? It's only been here for a month, but I know how fleeting it is, that in the back of my mind I keep thinking I need to savor every moment. I'm such a warm weather person. I love New Jersey, but the one thing I wish I could change about it is the climate! Lately the weather has been perfect. It's been hot, but not too humid, and not scorching. It also hasn't rained that much.
Today we're taking it easy. I'm going to work out, read, watch "Orange is the New Black", and might run to Target. There's also a lot of dishes to do from last night! Bob's family came over, and he made three dishes for dinner, and I made chocolate chip cookies. Usually he does the dishes, but I want to do most or all of them today, because he did so much cooking! It'll be so nice when we have a dishwasher, which won't be until we buy a house. When we moved into this apartment complex, we got to choose between an apartment with a dishwasher or washing machine & dryer. We have a washing machine & dryer in our kitchen! We are very lucky to have that; I've never heard of another apartment complex giving tenants the option to have a washing machine & dryer in their kitchen.
We've been in this apartment for a little over two years now, and I love being here. I love the location, and they take good care of the complex.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Pin Up Girl Clothing dress. I adore the cut of the dress, and think it's very flattering. A lot of their styles are great for accentuating my shape. I got the necklace in New Orleans at a little antique shop. Trashy Diva sells this exact necklace too, but I didn't get it the day I saw it in their shop. I went back the next day, and was going to get it, but it was gone. They told me where the antique shop was that carried this woman's jewelry.

Rainbow Brite

Hello there! Last night was great, Bob and I went to a restaurant called Brew Works in Pennsyvania and had dinner & drinks. I always order the same thing there, because I love it so much! Soft pretzels & beer cheese soup dip. I wish more places around here sold it.Tonight Bob's parents, brother, and aunt are coming over for dinner. Bob is making us quesdillas and broccoli cheese risotto. I'm meeting up with a friend later on tonight, at a local bar.
I went to the Social Security Office yesterday morning to start the process of changing my name. They said I'll receive my new Social Security card in about two weeks. I'm so glad I got that task over and done with! And I'll feel even better once I've done everything else it takes to change my last name!
My wedding pictures are now all available to me to look at and purchase! The photographer doesn't develop the pictures, we have to go through someone else. We can order them directly from the website that she uploaded them too. But, my family and Bob's family kept asking about when the pictures would be ready to see and order, so now we can tell them!
I had to post some more New Orleans pictures! So, some of the pictures below are from New Orleans, the first few ones are. (The pictures in New Jersey are the one with me wearing the rainbow pennant dress.) The buildings are just amazingly gorgeous there. I love the porches on the first and second floors, and a lot of the houses are colourful. I saw a few pink ones, which I of course really loved. We saw apartments for rent that said either "haunted" or "not haunted". There's a picture below of one that says "haunted".
The rainbow pennant dress in the below pictures is from Modcloth, and it's the brand Bea & Dot. Bea & Dot is Modcloth's own in-house brand. I have four dresses and one skirt of this brand, and I really love them all. The brand has such cute, colourful prints and styles. This dress pairs so well with so much jewelry & so many shoes I have! Love having tons of options.

Open Up A Book!

Hello there! Bob and I started watching "Orange is the New Black" last night. I took it out Season 1 from the library. We watched three episodes last night. I had heard a lot of positivite reviews about the show. And so far, I like it a lot, and it is definitely addicting!
I'm excited for Friday night; Bob and I are going to Brew Works for dinner & drinks. It's a restaurant in Pennsylvania, about an hour from us. I always order the Bavarian pretzels & beer cheese soup dip. It's phenomonal!
During the day on Friday I'm going to the Social Security office to change my last name. I'm really not looking forward to going to the office, who knows how long the wait will be. I also have to miss part of a day of work to do it, because the latest hours the office has is till 3 p.m., and they are closed on weekends. I'd love to have their schedule, and have my latest work day be 3 p.m.!
I am glad to start the process of changing my last name, though. It'll be great to get this over & done with, and not have it on my to-do list anymore. Luckily, there is a DMV right by my work, so I can try to run there on my lunch break, or after work.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my one and only Bernie Dexter dress. I love it so much, and can't wait until I have more of her gorgeous dresses! There was no way I could resists getting this book dress; I have an English degree, and have always loved to read. I love how my new coral heels from Trashy Diva pair with this dress. I just love wearing coral as much as possible, it's such a fabulous colour!
I'm re-reading my favourite book right now, "A Confederacy of Dunces." This is probably the fifth or sixth time I'm reading it. But, now it's going to be a different experience, because the book takes place in New Orleans, and since I was just there, I'll be able to know where some of the places are that the are in the book!

New Hope Trip

Hello there! Yesterday Bob and spent the day in New Hope. It was perfect weather for it! It was warm, but not hot or humid. When we first got there we stopped in a couple of shops, and then went to a pub for drinks & lunch. We sat outside at the bar. I just had some pizza, and Bob got a cheesesteak. We've eaten at this place a few other times. It's right on the main street, so we had a nice view from where we sat of shops and people walking by. When it's nice out I loveee to sit outside and eat and/or drink. I try to take advantage of opportunities to do that as much as possible, before the weather cools down.
After we left the pub we went to more shops. We also walked across the bridge to Lambertville, New Jersey. We had walked over there one other time, when there was a festival going on. This time there wasn't any festival, we just went in a couple shops. But, I didn't see really any place else I wanted to go there, so we walked back to New Hope. We got ice crem, went in a few more shops, and went home. All I bought was one Christmas cupcake ornament.
I wore my Pin Up Girl Clothing Jenny Oranges dress to New Hope. I keep wanting to wear it! It is my favourite Pin Up Girl Clothing item that I own. And I adore how my Luxulite necklace & brooch pair with it. I got a few compliments on my dress yesterday, including from a woman wh was driving and slowed down to yell it out the window, ha!
Today I'm going to clean the apartment, do laundry, work out, read, and watch "The Sopranos" with Bob. We only have two more episodes left to watch in the whole series! Once we're done with this series, I'm not sure what other TV series on DVD will be at the library that we'll want to take out. We've watched a bunch of TV series on DVD from the library already, ha.
