Hello there! Saturday Bob and I went to an antique show in Allentown, about an hour away from us. We got there a little after 9:00 a.m. There was a good amount of people there already, and walking up and down the narrow aisles was annoying with slow people who were blocking the walkways. But, otherwise we had a good time, and I got a couple of goodies. I was glad I didn't find a lot of things that I HAD to have, because I didn't want to spend too much money. I got a fruit bottle brush tree and a plastic Santa that lights up.
Antique bottle brush trees are my favorite Christmas decorations to collect. The vendor I bought the tree from remembered me from two other shows I was at, and both other shows I bought something from her. She's one of my favorite vendors. She always has great bottle brush trees! She said she'll be at the Oldwick show in a month, and I can't wait for that show! It's also only 2o minutes from us, so that's a big plus.
After the show we went to the nearby mall, about ten minutes away. We went in a couple of shops, and had lunch at the German restaurant there. Bob loves German food, but I'm not such a fan of most of it, ha. I'm not a meat & potatoes girl. I got a tuna fish wrap, which was pretty good. I went in Hot Topic to see if they had the Lisa Frank sweatshirt that I had seen online, and they did have it, and in my size! I snagged it, and I love it. It's so colorful, and so me! It's probably not surprising that I was pretty obsessed with Lisa Frank for years when I was growing up. My favorite of her designs were the unicorns, and this sweatshirt has one of the unicorns on it.
I got a lot of compliments on my outfit on Saturday, and I only noticed one other woman there wearing a dress. One woman who was shopping at the show, remembered me from a year ago, when I went to the same show last year. I suppose I do have a memorable look!
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore on Saturday. I also wore my Fontaine coat, pictured below. I LOVE that coat, even though it's hard to move my upper arms in it as it's tight up there, and also the fabric on the top two buttons had come up, and I hot glued them back on, but as you can see, the one button lost its fabric again. Otherwise, I love the vintage 40's look of the coat.
I almost always wear this dress when I go antiquing. I do love my themes, that's for sure!
I feel like wearing this dress while antiquing will bring me antiquing luck, ha.

Pucker Up
Hello there! Well, I had a nice short day at work today; I went in until 10:00 a.m., then drove to meet my mom, so we could carpool to an insurance meeting for our work (we both work at schools'; she's a business administator, and I'm an assistant to a business administrator). The meeting wasn't long, and I got home around 2:15, which is great! It was funny, because the table we sat at had among others: myself, my mother, my dad's cousin, and the first boss my mom had at a school, and she hadn't seen me in about fifteen years (my mom and her have remained friends since my mom left that school about twenty years ago).
My dad's cousin is also a BA.
Yesterday was my birthday, so tonight Bob and I are going to my parent's house for cake.
My grandparents will be there, too. Tomorrow we're leaving for Asbury Park for the weekend. The weather's supposed to be sunny, but cool, about 65 for the high. I hope I find some good things while antiquing down there!
I can't believe I'm leaving in 9 days to head to New Orleans with my parents! It's coming so fast now. I pretty much know what outfits I'll be packing, naturally. I can't wait to show my mom around the French Quarter & Garden District.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter lipstick print Lauren dress. I love the Lauren style, and wish that Bernie would release this style again soon, in new prints! I think it may be the most flattering style on me of all her dresses.

Candy Shop
Hello there! One week from today Bob and I will be heading to Nashville! I'm sooo excited.
I love exploring cities I've never been to before. My sister lives there, but she'll be in Europe with her fiance while we are in Nashville. She just got engaged last Friday! We'll be staying at their apartment for two nights while we are in Nashville, which'll be nice, since we'll save some money that way. She's also letting us use her car, so we'll also save money that way, although obviously when we go to bars we'll use an Uber.
I'll be seeing my friend Sara (of the blog http://www.inanutshellblog.com/) and her boyfriend while we're there, so that just adds to my excitement! They are also coming there for the Boogie. I haven't seen her in a year, since Viva Las Vegas last year. I met her IRL about a year and a half ago, at the New England Shake Up (it's held in Massachusetts).
We had been online friends, thanks to our blogs and Instagram.
I have more plans than normal the next few days. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for a drink after work, Friday Bob and I are going to a friend's house, Sunday we'll be seeing my grandmother, and if my parents get home early enough (they've been on vacation), I'll be seeing them too, Monday Bob and I are meeting with an architect (about building a house), and Tuesday night I'm going to a board meeting at work. I'll be busier than I'd like to be, that's for sure.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Unique Vintage candy shop skirt. I scored it during a sale they had, where certain skirts were $40, and then I used a $5 coupon, so I got the skirt for $35! I had adored this print since it came out a few months ago. It came out at the same time that the gumball skirt did, which I just got for $25 at Viva. There's so many colors in this skirt, so it's super easy to pair shirts, shoes, and jewelry with it. I think next time I'll wear my mint Sabrina top with the skirt, instead of the white one I'm wearing here. I also couldn't resist pairing the skirt with my Modcloth cupcake sandals! These sandals are too cute. They're really comfortable, too.

Kitschy Kitchen Kelly & Antiquing
Hello there! Today Bob & I went to a local antique show, and then had some drinks at a restaurant/bar in town. The antique show had 45 dealers, and I had never been to this one before. I only bought one item: a bottle brush wreath. A couple of vendors recognized me from an antique show I went to in December, including the one I bought the wreath from today. It's my first bottle brush wreath, and I love it. It's in really good condition, too. I try to only buy antiques that are in good condition, and Bob is a stickler for that, too. We were only at the show for about 45 minutes, so that made Bob happy, ha.
After the show we went down the street to a brew pub that also has an outdoor bar, in case the outdoor bar was open, since it was so warm out. Unfortunately it wasn't open, and the bar inside was packed, so we went to a different restaurant/bar that's closer to home. We sat at the bar, and the bartender is actually a teacher at the school I work at. I already knew she worked there, but never had been waited on her there before.
It was crazy warm again today; got up to 70 degrees. We got a thunderstorm in the afternoon, which is very odd for winter. The cold front is coming back in, and it'll be much cooler tomorrow, unfortunately. I've been getting too used to this spring/summmery weather!
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore today. I usually wear this retro kitchen Bernie Dexter Kelly when I go antiquing, because it's oh, so appropriate for it! It's one of my most worn dresses, period. I like to think it brings me good antiquing luck too, ha.

Antiquing & Collecting
Hello there! Yesterday was a fun day. I went to a couple of towns in Pennsylvania to go to an antique show, out to eat, and to a couple of shops. I hadn't been to this particular antique show since I was young, and my parents would drag my sister and me there against our will, ha. The theme of the show was toys, but they did have some antique Christmas, Halloween and Easter items as well. Holiday decorations as well as kitchen/barware items from the 50's are my favorite things to collect. My mom has a huge antique tin toy collection, as well as a huge antique holiday collection. I bought my first antique toy yesterday, at the show.
I bought a tin Easter basket, and it was in great condition, and a great price! I posted a picture below. I really love the colors in it, too. My parents and aunt and uncle said it was a good price, too, and they are experts in this arena, ha.
I didn't ask the seller if they'd take a lower price, because it seemed like a great price, but I will do it in the future, because after I told my parents about it, they said that you should ALWAYS ask if they'll take less, no matter the item. It feels strange to me to "haggle", but I'll have to get used to that! I did do that when I bought my antique bar cart at an antique mall, and it worked.
After the toy show, Bob and I went out to lunch nearby, and then went to a mall to checked out the Christmas ornaments at Boscov's (a department store), and I picked up a cupcake ornament there. We then went to a nearby town where I picked up a macaron ornament at a shop. We'll be going to a strictly Christmas antique show the first Saturday in December, about forty minutes from us. I'm excited to go to a strictly Christmas show, and think I'll find a lot there. I haven't been to this show before.
I can't wait to have a house and get to display my growing collections year round! That's the most exciting part for me of having a house, ha! I want to display them in hutches, tables, on shelves and a mantel.
My outfit was a huge hit at the antique show! Almost everyone there was quite a big older than us, I'd say mainly in their 40's to 70's. A few of the vendors complimented me, and asked me about my outfit, and thought my dress was actual vintage, and not repro. It's always cool to introduce people to the world of vintage repro, since it seems like hardly anyone in the area I live in dresses that way.

Crazy Cat Lady
Hello there! I've been watching the Olympics a lot; gymnastics, basketball, and swimming are my favorite to watch. I used to play basketball and do gymnastics, and gymnastics has always been my favorite sport to both watch and participate in. Last night I watched all of the women's all around competition. It was so exciting! It was amazing to see both US gymnasts in it win gold and silver! I figured Simone would win gold, she was predicted to, and is consistently almost flawless. I was really hopping Aly would get silver, especially because she lost out on an all around medal four years ago in London, during a tie breaker (she had been tied for bronze). The Russian girl she had tied with four years ago took the bronze last night. So, it was crazy, because they were again SO close to each other this Olympics, but it was so nice to see Aly get the silver. As soon as she finished her floor exercise performance, which was the last performance for her for the all around competition, she just burst into tears. She knew at that point that she would medal. I got a bit teary-eyed myself, ha. It is simply astonishing me what Olympic athletes are capable of; how dedicated, focused, and driven they are. I don't think I could handle the stress!!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter kitty print Kelly dress. I admit, I am a crazy cat lady, as in they're my favorite animal. I don't have any kitties currently, and my husband is quite allergic to them, so when we do get a cat, we'll try to adopt a hypoallergenic breed. Maine Coons are my favorite breed, but unfortunately they are not hypoallergenic. Long haired cats and dogs are my favorite kind. I think they're more beautiful.

Spring Has Arrived
Hello there, and happy spring!! I'm so glad it has arrived! Even though the weather here has gotten cooler than it was last week, I'm just happy it's officially spring, as the season I hate is officially over! Winer always seems to drag on endlessly, and summer always flies by, at least for me.
Last night I watched "Brooklyn" and "Carol" On Demand. Wow, I LOVED "Brooklyn". It definitely lived up to the hype. I'm just so in love with Ireland/all thing Irish as it is, and this movie just really got to me. I knew it would make me cry, ha. I love the actress, Saoirse Ronan. She was also in "Atonement" and "The Lovely Bones", both of which I've seen. I really didn't know what her decision would be (whether to stay in Ireland or go back to Brooklyn), but I liked the way the movie ended. "Carol" I wasn't so crazy about. I love Cate Blanchett, and both movies were set int he 50's, so I enjoyed seeing the wardrobes and decor, but "Carol" moved slowly, and didn't have a good ending. Today we're going to watch "The Big Short" On Demand. That movie should be more of Bob's speed, ha.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter cherry blossoms dress. It's the perfect dress for the first day of spring. I had also wetset my hair the night before I took these pictures, and I think my hair turned out decently. Sometimes it turns out crappy, and I ended up just straightening my hair to take out the bad curls.

Bernie Roses
Hello there! Today I'll mostly be hanging out at home; working out, reading, just watching TV and relaxing...but, Bob and I are going out to eat at Friendly's, too. We haven't been there in a few months, and it's right around the corner from us. Last night I went out for drinks in town with Bob and his brother, and I also met up with a friend, and then ran into another friend at one of the bars. I hadn't gone out for drinks in town in months. It wasn't super freezing last night, so we were able to walk from one bar to the other. Since the clocks when ahead this morning, I'm glad we'll be having an extra hour of sunlight in the evenings!! That'll be really nice.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter roses dress in the Paris cut. Besides adoring the print, the background color on this dress is also amazing! It's a perfect shade of blueish/greenish. I have four dresses in the Paris cut. I'm also wearing my rainbow rose hair flower, which I loveee.

Suffering For My Art
Hello there! The weekend has come around once again, and it's a freezing cold one. Evidently, there will be -25 windchills. Can't. wait. I still haven't cracked once this winter; I have remained steadfast in my skirt and dress wearing, with not a hint of stockings, tights or leggings (I hate how stockings and tights feel, ugh)! It's only for the strong, ha. I suffer for my art. I will be going out today in this weather, I'm meeting my friend for lunch, and Bob and I are having dinner at his parent's house. I also need to go to Target.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress that was originally sold on Modcloth. I didn't get it then, but ended up buying it for a much better price, from someone who was selling it used, through Instagram. I really love the print, and the fact that it's a shirt dress. I adore shirt dresses in general, and have a few, but they can be tricky for me, as I usually need to size up so I can be able to button it over my bust. This one is hard to button (I didn't size up) over my bust, but luckily it doesn't gape. This dress was from their Bea & Dot line, and I have quite a few items from that line. They picked the best fabrics for that line!! So many colorful, eye catching prints!

Care For Dessert?
Hello there! Well, I finally got a new phone. I had the iPhone 4 for three years (it was my first Smart Phone), and last night I got the iPhone 6. I didn't really want to get a new phone, but my phone wouldn't let me download updates, and certain apps, so it got to be annoying. They do that on purpose, to try and force you to buy a new phone.
My mom's stopping over tonight to visit Bob and me. Other than that, we don't have many plans for the rest of the week, except that Saturday we're going out to eat in Bethlehem. We never go out to eat Valentine's weekend, as it's too crazy at restaurants. We usually do the weekend before. We're not that into Valentine's Day, but it is nice to go out and eat once in awhile.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my lovely lime green Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant top, paired with my Etsy pie, cake & brownie print skirt that I scored for $25! I got the skirt on sale back in the summer. I love the dessert print, and I love the shades of light blue, pink & lime green paired together. Lime green used to be one of my favorite colors, and I still love it. I don't have much of it though; this is definitely my most lime-y outfit. I wouldn't mind finding some more clothing with lime in it.

Bubbles Dress
Hello there! We are currently getting walloped with snow. I have to say, since the weather people usually get it wrong (usually overestimate), I wasn't so sure we'd really get majorly hit. We woke up to 6 inches of snow, with it still snowing hard, and it's windy. My sister, who moved to Nashville in August, got the snow before we did. This is our first real snowfall this season. She sent me a picture yesterday morning of the snow they had there, plus since they hardly get snow there, they are not equipped to take care of the roads well. So, the roads were a disaster. Bob left a little bit ago, to do his first round of plowing. I worry when he goes out in awful conditions like this. He will probably have to do three rounds of plowing all of his customers. I think he'll be coming in between each round though. Some of the driveways he does are very steep. Plus, he won't even get to have a weekend!
I'll be at home relaxing, and getting some things done, like cleaning, laundry, and working out. I'm definitely going to watch the movie "Everest". It's based on the book "Into Thin Air", which I just read.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Heart of Haute dress I got back in September. I love the print on it, and also the style. It's a different style than any of my other dresses. The skirt isn't as full as most of my dresses, and it's on the short side for me. My orange cropped cardi from PUG goes with it perfectly though. This cardi doesn't match many other items in my wardrobe.

Oldie But A Goodie
Hello there! I don't have plans for today, other than the usual tasks I do on Saturdays, and Bob's working. Tomorrow Bob and I are supposed to see "Joy" at the movies. I don't like going to the movies, I'd much rather watch movies at home, but unfortunately, "Joy" isn't available on demand yet. Bob doesn't like going to the movies either. Another reason I don't like this time of year, is that it's too cold and gross to go on day trips on the weekend. Once March comes, we'll start going places on the weekend again, like New Hope and NYC. We haven't been to NYC since June, and I really want to go back, to go to Enz's (a store), Otto's Shrunken Head (tiki bar), and the Bagel Store (which sells rainbow bagels! We've never been there before). We still go to Bethlehem in the winter, since we don't have to walk around there. We just park right by the restaurant and the one shop that I love.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Folter brand junk food dress that I got from Modcloth about two and a half years ago. I remember debating ordering it for months, because even though I adored the print, I didn't know if I'd feel comfortable wearing something so "loud". Ha! How times have changed...because obviously now I'm very comfortable wearing "loud" outfits. Even though I still dislike the stares I get. I got this cropped Heart of Haute sweater from Retro Glam, during one of their great sales. I already had two red cropped cardigans, but they are more of a dark, dull red. This bright shade is great to match with a lot of my outfits.

Little Red
Hello there! I had quite the bad day today, and it's hard for me to write a blog post when that happens. It's also hard to stay positive when these days happen; it's just a downward spiral of negative thinking. I am by nature a very positive, cheerful, optimistic person. I have one thorn in my side though, that keeps me from feeling fully happy. I am trying my best to get this thorn gone from my side, but it's not so easy. Unfortunately, I can't talk about the details here, in case someone who shouldn't see, would see. I can say it has nothing to do with my marriage or friends though! So, that's a good thing, since they are both extremly important to me. But, it is a drain on me mentally, and hard for me to kick that feeling. Anyway, enough venting here! Let's talk about more fun, colourful things.
Friday night Bob and I will be going to my parent's house, along with some other family, toc elebrate my dad's birthday. Sunday we are actually going to Bethlehem! We have been planning to for weeks, but kept putting it off. It's supposed to be 60 degrees all weekend, too, so that'll be perfect.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Retrolicious Little Red Riding Hood dress that I got in New Orleans in September. It's a little bit short for me, but the print is so darn cute, that I had to get it anyway. In the first picture I'm getting ready for my work Christmas party, which was this past Saturday. (I didn't actually wear this dress to it!)
