Roses Are Red And Pink

Hello there! After having a pretty full weekend, it's really nice to have today off to take it easy. We had a good time at Bob's parent's bbq yesterday. I ran a couple of quick errands earlier today, and other than that, am just staying in, doing some reading, outfit pictures, Netflix watching, phone calls, vacation planning, that sort of thing. It's humid out again today, but has cooled down a bit from how hot is was this weekend.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter Paris style rose print dress. I have a few Paris style Bernies. They are not my favorite style of hers, but she has been putting out a lot of them lately in prints that I love. The bottom part of the shelf bust is so much above the bottom of my bust, but I don't really mind, because I still think it looks good, and isn't that noticeable. The background color of this dress is spectacular (and not that common), and to me just as special as the print itself.

Tropical

Hello there! Last night I met my friend at Panera for dinner, and today Bob and his brother are having a joint birthday bbq at their parent's house. We'll be heading over there in the early afternoon. A couple of Bob's friends are coming who he doesn't see too often (they live out of town), so I'm happy he'll get to catch up with them. I think I'll be wearing my Bernie bbq dress, the rather obvious choice, ha. I'm so glad bbq season is officially starting! It's a nice sunny day out, and supposed to be around 65 degrees, so that should be great weather to be outside.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a new Banned Apparel skirt I bought from Viva La Dulce Marina. I recently bought three Banned skirts from them. The brand is very reasonable; VLDM is selling them for $50.00, plus I used a 15% off coupon. I really love the bright coral background color of this skirt and the fun, tropical print.

Banned Skirt

Hello there! It's a beautiful, sunny day out, and Bob and I are leaving in the early afternoon to head to Bethlehem for an early dinner & drinks, and to go to the Moravian Bookstore. Other than that, I'll just be doing some cleaning and laundry, and relaxing at home. Tomorrow I'll be going to church with my mom and sister, and going to my grandparent's house for Easter.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Banned Apparel skirt that I bought from Viva Dulce Marina. Banned first started showing pictures of this skirt about two months ago, and I was very excited for its release. I love this fun 1950's drive-in/diner print, and the use of bright shades of orange, pink & blue in it. Not many skirts or dresses have much orange in them. Speaking of orange, Oblong Box Shop finally released their furniture skirt and tiki drink skirt last night, and I ordered both of them right away. The furniture skirt has an orange background. I like the tiki drink skirt even more though, and can't wait to receive them both. I'll definitetly have to bring the tiki drink skirt to Vegas!

Flamingo Frenzy

Hello there! Bob cut six inches off my hair last Sunday, and I think you can tell in the pictures below. At first I wasn't sure about it, but, now I love it. Most of my life I've had hair this short or shorter. I just prefer shorter hair on me. It's also easier to handle. At this length my hair looks better when it's straightened, but during the work week I just don't want to take the time to blow dry my hair completly & then straighten it. Today Bob and I may be going to the movies to see "Aloha". I know he'll be cooking and baking a few things today though, so not sure if we are still going. I'm, going to work out, read, take outfit pictures, and pretty much just relax. I also think we're booking our hotel today for our NYC trip for our anniversary next month. We are probably just staying over for one night.
It actually rained late last night/this morning. We have barely gotten any rain in probably a month and a half. But, right now it's sunny, and going to be quite warm today. I'm happy tomorrow is June 1st! Summer is my favourite season, and the start of June is definitely the start of summer in my book. Even though we've been having summerlike weather for weeks now, which has been great!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Banned Apparel flamingo dress that I got from Viva La Dulce Marina's website. I love the style of this dres; the band right below the chest is great and flattering, and the straps are convertible, they can be worn like this or as a halter style. I like to wear it both ways. The company accidentally sent me a size smaller than I ordered, but, it worked out well, because this dress fits, and even has a little bit of room, still. I had never bought anything of that brand before, and wasn't sure on sizing. This outfit is kind of flamingo crazy! I just had to wear my flamingo dress and one of my flamingo brooches with it, ha. I wore this outfit to Friendly's last night. I'm glad my coral shoes match the dress; I don't have too many outfits that match my coral shoes, so when I find a match, I'm very happy!

BBQ Season

Hello there! We had a really good time yesterday at my parent's house. All my grandparents were there, and my aunt and uncle. I love the start of BBQ season! It was a little cool out yesterday, but we sat outside for quite awhile. It was sunny though. Today it's supposed to be warmer, and by Tuesday it'll be 88 degrees. You know what they say about New Jersey and some other places (I'm sure Colorado, too!); if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, and go outside again.
Today we are going to Bob's aunt and uncle's for another BBQ. His other aunt and uncle will be up. They live in Georgia, and we don't see them much. We're going to bring cornhole. I haven't played that since last summer.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Banned Apparel dress I got from Modern Pinup. Love the print! Believe it or not, I have almost no dresses with a pink background, so I'm glad this one does. I also have a dress on the way with a pink background, concidentally. This will also be a perfect dress to bring to Brooklyn next month, when we celebrate our anniversary, and check out the tiki bars.

Vegas, Part 1

Hello there! Well, we are back from our trip to Las Vegas. We got in late Tuesday night, and went back to work today. We had a really fun trip. The weather was pretty great; during the day it was pretty perfect. Around 75/80, and very sunny every day. A couple of days it was also quite windy though, which was scary, because my dresses kept wanting to fly up!! I had to hold them down with both hands, while outside. At night it got cool out, and we were both cold. But, I didn't mind too much, considering the weather we came from here. The first day we got in around 10:45 a.m. We went straight to the hotel, and luckily they let us check in early. We went to Frankie's Tiki Bar the first night. We had never been before, and had also never been off the strip before. We took a taxi there and back. We were there for awhile, and really liked it. It has a low key atmosphere, and good, strong drinks. I don't normally like rum drinks, but I liked every one I got. Our eyes had to adjust to how dark it is inside though! I don't think I've ever been in such a dark bar. So, it wasn't a good place for pictures, unfortunately. I had also never been to a tiki bar before! I'm eager to go to more in the future.
The next day we headed over to Viva Las Vegas! We got there early, late morning. We didn't realize that not much would be going on yet. There weren't any vendors, and there was hardly anyone at the car show when we got over there. The next two days at Viva were a lot better. It was so strange/cool to see so many girls dressed similarly to me! Where I live, I never see any girls dressed like me. I don't like to stand out, so it felt good to blend in for one!
Our second day at Viva we went to the indoor vendors. I only found a pair of sunglasses. But, a girl did approach me, who recognized me from Instagram. Her name is Lisa, and she's so nice. Her friend Dara was with her, so I met her too. Bob and I ended up going to Frankie's Tiki Bar again later in the week, and I invited Lisa along. That was a lot of fun. I also met Miss Victory Violet on that day! She has a blog and is on Instagram. (Her real name is Ella.) She's from New Zealand, and was the winner of the Miss New Zealand pin up. She is sooo sweet in person, and even more gorgeous. I was so nervous to talk to her! I had seen her the first day, but was too scared to talk to her. I got up the nerve on the second day, but my heart was pounding the whole time.
The third day at Viva the car show vendors were open, and I got a bunch of great items! I got two dresses, two purses, a belt, two hair pieces, two cropped cardis, and two tank tops. There were also a lot more cars at the car show that day, and a lot more people!! It got pretty crowded there. And we saw Miss Victory Violet win the Miss Viva Las Vegas pin up contest! She really deserved it.
I'm going to do a second blog post soon about the rest of my trip, but for now I'll post pictures below from the beginning part of the trip. Our next trip is in three months! We'll be going to Virginia  Beach in July for a week...so the countdown is on for that!

A New Yellow Dress!

Hello there! Tonight Bob and I went to meet my dad & grandmother at Panera. My grandmother is going to California on Saturday; she lives out there half the year, and half the year lives five minutes from me. It's always sad to see her go, and I know she misses us a lot when she is out there.
My new Hell Bunny dress arrived today. I love it! I had been looking at it online for months, and finally made the plunge when the Viva La Dulce Marina website had a $3 shipping special. I sized up in this dress, to make sure the chest would fit. The chest is pretty tight even so, but luckily not too tight. As a result, the waist is a little big. But, I'll just wear a belt with it to disguise that! I adore the colour yellow, but it's not so easy to find yellow dresses. I don't like wearing mustard yellow, either. Luckily, this dress is a great shade of yellow! It's like a mid yellow shade, but not mustard-y. I really love the brand of Hell Bunny. It's definitely one of my favourite brands.
Another bonus with this dress is I bought it with some of the money I got for my birthday! I have two more dresses on the way that I also bought with birthday money. I'm thinking about also ordering this dress is pink & white. It's only $45 on the Hey Viv website.
I'm also wearing my new cake earrings in these pictures! I loveee them, they are so colourful & perfectly me. I got them where I get most of my food jewelry from, from the Etsy shop: Scrumptiousdoodle. The girl who makes the jewelry is so darn talented!
