Cherry Blossoms

Hello there! It's gorgeous out! This long weekend is supposed to be hot and sunny. Yesterday was hot and humid, and it was supposed to rain, but we ended up not really getting any.
Bob and I were excited to find out "Shameless" is now on Netflix! It's one of our favorite shows, but we don't have Showtime, so we always had to wait until seasons came out on DVD, and were at the library, in order to watch it. Now we're catching up on it on Netflix. Such a great, funny, and entertaining show. William H. Macy has been one of my favorite actors for a long time, and he's so funny in that show.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter Chelsea cherry blossoms dress. Cherry blossom trees are so gorgeous, and so is this print. Bernie seriously picks the most beautiful flower fabrics for her dresses. She hasn't been coming out with many new prints in this Chelsea style, but I hope she does soon. There is a new lipstick print Chelsea I've been eyeing though, which I'm pretty sure I'll be snatching up (it's available for "pre-order" now).

Puppies!

Hello there! I'm very excited to have another four day weekend this weekend. I'm starting to make some plans for it, with both friends and family. I started a new job this week, and it's been great. I had wanted a job in a school for years, and I finally got into one. It's a huge weight off of me, to finally have found the job I've been wanting for a long time.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Retrospec'd dress that I got from Shop VDM. This one has a puppy border print. I don't typically go for dresses with dark background colors, BUT, with this adorable print, how could I possibly resist?! My favorite animals are cats, but I also really love dogs. I wore the dress to work today, and I'm so glad I found another job where I can wear what I want to wear, AKA as many novelty prints and bright colors as my rainbow heart desires. This dress I ended up exchanging, because I went by the size chart with the size I first ordered, and it wasn't correct for the bust measurement. Luckily, they still had the next size up, and I was able to do a fast exchange. This one is quite tight on my bust, but luckily it does zip. If you're busty, I'd definitely say to go up a size.

Retrospec'd Tiki Time

Hello there! It's another gorgeous day out. Tonight Bob and I may walk to Applebee's down the street for a couple drinks. We haven't walked anywhere to eat or drink in quite awhile. Other than that, I won't be doing too much; working out, doing some reading, Netflix watching. We finished "Orange Is The New Black" last night. Ugh, it ended on  such a cliffhanger!! I really hate that. Now we have to wait another whole year for it to return.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Retrospec'd tropical/tiki dress. I got it from Catnip Reproduction Vintage Clothing. I had seen this print available previously in other online shops, but in a sarong style, so I didn't spring for it. Sarongs aren't my favorite style on me. I was so glad when I finally found it last week in this full skirt style. This print is an exact copy of a vintage Alfred Shaheen dress! I don't know if Retrospec'd does that with all their prints, but they at least do it with some. I think that's so neat. The COLORS in this print are to die for! The skirt part has bright pinks, oranges, reds, and white in it. In general I just love pink, orange, & red together. It may be my favorite color combo, other than rainbow, ha. This dress had stretchy side panels, which makes it a more comfortable fit. It's tight in my bust, but that's to be expected. I can't wait to wear this dress to a tiki bar! It's so perfect for that. I'm definitely bringing it on our southern road trip in July. I did wear it out on Thursday to meet my friends for a drink.

Heart Of Haute Harlequin

Hello there! I'm SO happy to have today through Sunday off of work! It's a much needed respite. I had to run an errand this morning, and I'll be meeting a couple of friends later today for a drink. Other than that, I'm taking it easy today/tonight; I'm going to work out, do some reading, and watch more of the new season of "Orange Is The New Black". I'm going to really try and savor this relaxating few days I'll have. I know it'll go by super quickly, as it always does.
Next weekend will also be a long weekend, since it's 4th of July weekend, already! Wow, that came up quickly.
Last night Bob and I went to my parent's to have pizza for dinner. My sister was there too, she's home from Nashville for a bit before she heads on vacation this Saturday with my mom and other extended family.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Heart of Haute harlequin print dresses; I have three from Heart of Haute. I love the mix of pastel and bright colors in this print. With my choice of shoes and accessories, I'm playing up the pastel side of the print. The straps on the dress are adjustable, which is great, as I needed to make them tighter.

Anniversary Weekend

Hello there! I'm not going to be doing too much today; staying home and enjoying the day. This coming week I have a four day weekend (not working Thursday or Friday), so I'm very excited for that. I have an errand to run Thursday morning, and then Thursday evening I'm meeting up with a couple of friends. Friday is open thus far, and I'm happy to just relax at home that day.
Yesterday Bob and I headed to Bethlehem to go out to eat and have drinks for our 2nd anniversary. We also took a walk down Main Street there, and went to The Moravian Book Shop. I bought a really cute dish towel there and a book there. Dinner was great, as it always is at Brew Works. After dinner, we sat at the bar for a bit, and had a couple of drinks. The weather was perfect for walking; it was sunny and hot, but not too hot or humid. There were a lot of people eating dinner on the sidewalk at the restaurants that have outdoor seating.
I wore my beloved Trashy Diva Lena picnic dress for the occassion. I got it last summer, and it's one of my favorite dresses to wear in the summertime.
I really liked how my hair turned out yesterday. I posted close up pics below. I washed my hair yesterday and dryed it, and then put hot rollers in it, and kept them in for about forty minutes, and then brushed my hair a little bit, and put tons of hairspray in it. After just a little bit, my hair was already not holding completly, which surprises me, because my hair holds curl really well, but it still looked decent I thought.

Feeling Blue

Hello there! We didn't end up going to the city today. It's gorgeous out though, so I'm hoping we'll do something outside. Last night I went over my parent's house for awhile, to celebrate Father's Day a little early. I'll be going back there this Wednesday with Bob, because my sister will be home from Nashville then, and we're going to have dinner with her.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Pin Up Girl Clothing bright blue Harley dress. I always wear it paired with my bright orange belt that came with my PUG oranges Jenny dress. I love the two colors together; I think they give off a tropical feel. This is my absolute favorite shade of blue. I really love how Harleys look on me; I also have one in coral, and am thinking about getting the red. I have so many red dresses though, so that's why I haven't bought it yet.
I got this bracelet at an antique mall in Adamstown, PA back in the fall. I love the fun print and bright colors on it, and it matches my outfit quite well.

Mahjong

Hello there! One month from today we leave to go on our southern road trip, but who's counting, right? I may be just *a little bit excited* to check out major southern cities that both Bob and I have never been to before! I love cities, and I love the south, so I have a feeling I'm really going to enjoy this trip! I can't wait to see the GORGEOUS big old houses with wraparond porches! *Sigh*...I'd just love to live in one. My husband I both want to have a porch when we have a house.
We are possibly heading to the city for the day on Saturday! We haven't been in a year, and I have been wanting to go back. Bob is not a fan of going there, mostly because of how much traveling we have to do to get there, and then the additional traveling around the city once we're there. Whether we end up going or not on Saturday, we'll be celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary this weekend. Time flies when you're having fun!
We went to Adamstown, PA last Sunday, and I posted some pictures below. It's the "antique capital of the US". There are a ton of antique malls. I only bought one item: an antique bar cart. Bob actually paid for most of it for my anniversary gift. I'd been wanting an antique bar cart for a long time, so I'm happy to have one now! It's in good condition, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Trashy Diva mahjong print dress. I received the dress yesterday, and I love it. It's the Annette style, and I now have five Annette dresses. They're my favorite TD style. I ordered a size up in this one, to give myself a little room at the bust, since two of my others in cotton voile (that's the material this one is made of) are very tight in the bust. I do have a little room at the bust, so I'm happy about that. I had also ordered this print in their new shirtwaist style dress, but it didn't quite work on me, so back it goes. I like that the background color of the dress is white; I think it makes it great for summer, plus I like lighter backgrounds on dresses in general.
