Our First Wedding Anniversary

Hello there! Today is my our first wedding anniversary! We got back from NYC around 1:30 today, and we got there around 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning. I had a good time, but unfortunately my husband didn't feel well for the majority of the time. His allergies were bothering him a lot (we think because were on the subway much more than we usually use it in the city, and the dampness from being underground was probably what was bothering his allergies), and then for a time his stomach was bothering him, too. He still doesn't feel 100% now. 
But, I got to go to the two stores I really wanted to go to, Enz's & Slapback. I didn't get anything at Slapback, and didn't even see anything to try on. But, I did well at Enz's! I got two dresses and a wristlet/purse. I had been thinking of ordering a dress in the Trashy Diva Green Kimono print since it came out, and just never took the plunge. Once I tried it on at Enz's in the Lena style, I loved it on! The material is so light and comfortable. It also isn't supertight in the chest, so I like that there's breathing room in it! I also got a red and white gingham Bernie Dexter dress. Here I go again, getting another red dress, ha! It was supposed to be sunny out yesterday, and cloudy and rainy today, but it ended up being the reverse! Today is hot, humid, and very sunny. Yesterday there was no sun, and it kept drizzling. So, my hair was a wreck! I had straightened it in the morning, thinking it would be good since it wasn't supposed to rain.
We went to tiki bars. We had never bee to tiki bars before, until we were in Vegas in April for Viva. We went to one tiki bar there, Frankie's Tiki Room, and loved it! So, we really wanted to check them out in NYC. I really enjoyed both of them, but prefered Otto's Shrunken Head, which is in Manhatten. (We spent most of our time in Brooklyn, and that's where out hotel was, as well. Otto's was quirky and fun. We bought two tiki cups to take home. They were only $5 each! My parrot one is pictured below.

Red Water Lilies

Hello there! Tonight I'm not doing too much, just going to work out and watch "Orange Is The New Black" with Bob. We are halfway through the season. Tomorrow I'm going to Panera with my parents and grandmother for dinner. And I'm very excited to celebrate my first wedding anniversary this weekend! Our anniversary is on Sunday, and we are staying overnight in Brooklyn Saturday night. The weather is supposed to be great on Saturday too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my latest Trashy Diva find. I got the dress on eBay for a lower price than it normally retails for, because the hem is a little longer one on side. You can't tell in the picture below, ebcause I'm holding up one side. It doesn't bother me though, when it's showing. I had first seen this print when I was in New Orleans for my honeymoon a year ago. My husband actually thought I would like the print, but at the time I wasn't into it. When I finally decided I was into the print, there was hardly anything left in it on the Trashy Diva site. Luckily they listed this dress recently on eBay, in my size! This is my first dress in this style, L'amour is the name of the style. I think it's really flattering, and I can always wear a bandeau to cover up the cleavage. I actually wore it to work today with a bandeau and cropped cardi. I love that my new yellow Iones match the dress just perfectly!

Y'all Dolled Up

Hello there! Today I went to the pool with my friend for a bit, and then we checked out the craft fair in town and went to Target. The craft fair was tiny, and we didn't see anything we wanted. I'm not doing much else today, mostly just relaxing, watching TV/reading. It's hard to not keep watching "Orange Is The New Black". I've watched the first three episodes, but I'm trying not to watch more until Bob gets back.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Modcloth Bea & Dot skirt I just scored on eBay for $25. It's a size too big on me, so I may have my mom take it in for me. The jukebox brooch pairs so perfectly with the skirt! The skirt was called Y 'all Dolled up when it was available on Modcloth. I debated ordering it when it was on Modcloth's site, but ended up not getting it since at the time I had ordered a lot from them recently. Once it sold out, I regretted not having bought it, so I'm so glad I finally found it on eBay, and for a steal!

Red Gingham

Hello there! Today I'm going to clean, do laundry, work out, watch TV/relax, and probably meeting up with my good friend for a drink. I saw her Thursday too, but she wants to go out tonight, as well. Today is her actual birthday, and she will be at a wedding until around 8:00 p.m. It's a pretty low key weekend for me, but I'm happy about that. Almost all weekends this summer we will have plans for at least one day of the weekend. 
In the pictures below I'm wearing another new to me Trashy Diva dress that I received this week! I've been having a lot of luck finding TD dresses lately! This dress is a bigger size than I normally wear in TD, it's two sizes bigger than my plaid Annette I wrote about in my last post. It is roomy in the waist, but the belt hides that. It is snug on my bust though, which is usually the case.  The cute belt it came with is too big on me too, so I swapped it for this belt. I would still love to find the red and white gingham print TD Trixie dress, but I also love this dress, and glad it has some red and white gingham! There's even more gingham on the back of it. My selection of red dresses has expanded lately, and I'm so glad. I can't have enough of them. I'm often told red is my best colour.

Purple Plaid

Hello there! Today is so hot out, and it's going to be 90 degrees the next two days. Unfortunatly, I'm sure it'll be humid as well, since this is New Jersey. Maybe I'll take a dip in the swimming pool at our apartment complex this weekend. I'm working out tonight, and just relaxing, watching "No Reservations" on Netflix with my husband. Tomorrow night I'm going out with my friend for her 30th birthday. I think we're just grabbing dinner.

In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me Trashy Diva plaid Annette dress. I am SO happy with it! I had been wanting it for a year now, but it wasn't available anymore through Trashy Diva. A girl in the TD Facebook group I'm in sent me a message, offering to sell hers to me. What a sweet lady! I snatched it right up. The Annette is my favourite of all TD style dresses. I also have a red one, which was my first ever TD purchase. The style fits my shape perfectly. Before this dress, I had almost no purple clothing in my wardrobe. I was happy to find that my lavendar BAIT shoes match it perfectly, too! The milkshake brooch I'm wearing with this outfit also arrived today. I got a yellow one as well, and I already had a pink one. They are just the cutest!

Call Me Rainbow Brite

Hello there! It's been such a gorgeous weekend weather wise. It's sunny out again today. Yesterday started out overcast, but much improved. We went to New Hope yesterday. We had lunch and drinks at an outside bar. Then we went and looked at the river, and then walked around a bit and went in a couple of stores. I'm trying to go on as many weekend day trips as possible this spring/summer. Two weekends from now we are going to NYC on Saturday, and staying over night. We have never done that before. We'll be celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I'm very excited for that.
Today I'm not doing that much. I'm going to work out, read, watch TV/relax, and maybe run to Target. I'm hanging out with my good friend this Thursday to celebrate her 30th birthday. Her actual birthday is next Saturday, but she is going to a wedding that day.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my rainbow stripe Emily & Fin dress from Modcloth. I got it a year and a half ago. I love it so much. It's flattering, and of course I love the print. I love pairing it with my new bright yellow B.A.I.T. Footwear Iones. They just arrived yesterday. I had waited so long for them to become available! They first showed them as "coming soon" back in I believe January, on their Instagram. About a month later I saw them on their webiste, and ordered them immediately. Well, turns out they shipped me a different shade of yellow Iones. So, I contacted them right away. They said they had made a mistake in showing the bright yellow ones as available on their site, and that they weren't actually available yet. Finally they are mine! They are just the perfect shade of sunny yellow, exactly what I wanted. I have so much to pair them with! I had recently gotten a pair of the same shade of yellow heels from B.A.I.T. Footwear, but they are open toed, and I wouldn't be able to wear them year round. These ones I can!

Fruit & Ice Cream

Hello there! I really wish this work week would hurry up. I'm not doing too much tonight. Just staying in and reading and watching Netflix with Bob. When it's so warm out it's even harder to be stuck inside all day. There are so many day trips I like to take in the late spring/summer. Bob and I are going back to New Hope this Saturday. He didn't really want to go back so soon, but I managed to convince him, ha. We need to take advantage of the nice weather while we can! It goes so quickly. It's just not fun to walk around NYC, New Hope, etc. when it's cold out; we just don't go to those places in the winter.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter ice cream dress. This was my second Bernie dress. I had wanted it for awhile, and finally found it cheaper than full price, when Bernie temporarily had an Etsy shop. I'm styling it differently than I have in the past, by pairing it with my new yellow B.A.I.T. heels. They are such a perfect shade of yellow; I wanted heels that shade of yellow for so long.
