A PA Day

Hello there! Well today is freezing and really sunny out, but we're supposed to get hit with a blizzard, starting Monday night. Even though that's only tomorrow night, things could still change before then. Before last week, we had only used ONE snow day for winter (we have 5 built in to the calendar), but we used another on Friday, and now, more than likely will be using at least one this week.
Well, I had a really good time yesterday, shopping in PA with my mom. I got back home to my place around 3:30 or so. Our first stop was two hours away, at Stamm House. Kay Stamm makes beautiful vintage reproduction holiday decorations. Her shop is always so gorgeous; she makes such cute displays. She had a lot of new Easter items this time, which I was very happy about. She had been closed since December; she always closes during the winter, and yesterday was opening day. We're usually there about an hour. The shop isn't very big, but there's so much to look at, and decisions to make! I always have pictures on my phone of my existing Stamm House collection, so I make sure I'm not buying duplicates. She had a good amount of Christmas items out, and a little Halloween. I only bought Easter items this time. Of all three holidays, her Easter items are my favorite, because of the colors! Another nice perk is that a lot of the items are small in size, and easier for me to display and store.
After we left her shop we stopped at the antique mall we always go to, but I didn't find anything there. We then went to two more antique malls that I had never been to. I did find a few cheap items at those two places. I got a set of vintage dish towels, a pitcher and glass set for our bar cart, a smalll sour cream glass, which is also on our bar cart, and an old dessert canister which has a really cute design, and I put on our kitchen counter. The problem with antiquing is how much I see that I want to buy, ha! I saw a lot of Pyrex I would have liked, but held myself back on that. I posted pictures below of my finds.
I wore one of my Bernie Dexter paint palette Kelly dresses yesterday. I have worn this one a few times since I got it a month ago (and also posted a blog featuring it). I now have three Bernie dresses with palette prints. It's such a fun, bright print, and the paint palette brooch and earrnings I have are so perfect with them!

I already had the donut cookie jar, but the bunny & canister were finds
                                 from yesterday.

Shopping In PA

Hello there! I had a great day yesterday. My mom and I, and my mom's Sheltie, Heidi went out to Lewisburg and Mifflinburg, PA to do some shopping. I met my mom at 7:50, and we got to our first stop two hours later. We usually go out there together twice a year, but that was our third time this year, and we also are probably going in November. Our first stop is my favorite stop: Stamm House. We wanted to get there by 10:00, which is when it opened, and it was opening day "for the season".  We knew that another woman who we've seen there before a few times would be there by 10:00 to shop, too, and didn't want to be late, because the artist, Kay, sometimes only has one of an item or two, and you have to snatch them up!
I have sooo many pieces from there! Kay sells holiday decorations that she makes from old German paper mache molds, and then hand paints. They are so gorgeous. I was able to get some cute Christmas items there this time, but when I talked to Kay, she told me that she'd have a lot more by early November, so that's why I want to go back in November. Afer Stamm House, we went to a couple of other stores and an antique mall. At the antique mall I got the two items in the first picture below. I got a great deal on both; I got them for $13 total! I already had one similar cocktail shaker (the brand is Hazel Atlas), but I'm happy to add this shaker to my antique bar cart, too.
When I got home from our trip, there were a couple of packages that had arrived. I posted a picture below of my new Erstwilder brooches and a hair flower from Etsy. I got the brooches from DNJ Retro, a US retailer for Erstwilder. I love all the brooches and hair flower! I was so happy Erstwilder released a tiki brooch! It's the first one I've ever seen from them.
Today I'm going to Bob's cousin's bbq. It's supposed to be a really nice day out, too, inspite of the tropical storm that is supposed to effect New Jersey very soon.

Had a great mail day yesterday, too!

Stamm House Visit

Hello there! Yesterday I went out to Mifflinburg, PA with my mom to go shopping for holiday decorations/antiques. We go out there a couple of times a year. Our first stop is the Stamm House, where a woman sells holiday decorations that she handmakes from antique German molds. She's a great artist, and there's no one else out there like her that I've come across yet. My mom is a huge collector of holiday decorations, and said she's never seen anyone else doing this either. I got my biggest haul yet. She had so many Easter items that I wanted, more than any other time I've been there. I posted pictures below, and I also posted picture of my full Stamm collections, and of displays inside the store.
It was funny, because when we got there at 10:30 (the store opened at 10), there was another shopper in there already, and that woman is the same one who's been there the two last times we were there also. She lives almost as far away from there as we do (we live over two hours away). The shop is small, and some items the artist only makes one or two of, so you have to snatch up what you want right away! But, since that woman got there half an hour before us, she had gotten a ton of items already. There was only one item she had that there were no more of, that I probably would've bought if I had gotten there before her. But, it's okay, because I got so many amazing pieces. A guy came in while the three of us ladies were there shopping, and we had already put aside so many pieces for us (my mom was also shopping for my sister and cousin, and my mom and I were sending pictures to my sister and cousin to see what they wanted.). Poor guy, he didn't have too much of an Easter selection left! We were there about an hour and a half, and it's only one small room. I just love being in there though, surrounded by so much cuteness!
After the Stamm House we went to a gift store, an antique mall, and then a huge gift store.

I didn't get anything at the other places.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute bubbles dress, and my new peach BAIT Idas that came this week. The Idas match the dress perfectly. I wasn't sure how the peah would look in person, because sometimes shoe colors look different in person than they do on the BAIT website. The shoes ended up a bit brighter in person than they looked online, which is fine by me!

"I, I Love The Colourful Clothes She Wears"

Hello there! It's been quite the gloomy weekend, weather wise. I can't really complain though, since I don't think we had a bad weather weekend all summer. Yesterday I went out to Pennsylvania with my mom and aunt, to go shopping for holiday decorations. I go out there twice a year with my mom. We go to a couple different towns, and the farthest one is two and a half hours away. It's worth it though, because there are no shops around here that sell really neat holiday decorations. I really scored this time, too. My mom was very kind and bought me a lot of it. I got five new Stamm House Halloween pieces, a Halloween feather tree & four ornaments for it, and one Stamm House Easter piece, and one Stamm House Christmas piece. My favourite piece is the one that's a pumpkin with a cat coming out the top of it. My aunt & mom also got that one.
Last night Bob and I watched "Love & Mercy", about Brian Wilson's life. (He was the lead singer of The Beach Boys). I really enjoyed it, and I just love The Beach Boys's music. That's where the title of my blog post comes from, if you didn't figure it out, ha. It's the first line from "Good Vibrations", and is pretty perfect for me!!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Little Red Riding Hood print dress that I bought in New Orleans. The brand is Retrolicious. This print is so adorable, and I love the colours used in it. I don't like the colour gray, but there's so many colours in it, that I don't mind that the background is gray. Also in the pictures below is my new sprinkle wood die cut sign that is now hanging on my kitchen wall. I was so excited to receive it in the mail! It's now my favourite piece on my wall. It's just so perfect for me. Everyday is a Holiday is an amazing husband and wife team that made that piece, as well as a few other pieces I have on my kitchen wall (like the ice cream cone). They are so talented, and their aesthetic suits me and my style so well! They're also located right here in New Jersey, which is neat.
The last two pictures below are showing the Halloween items I got yesterday. Speaking of aesthetic, the Stamm's aesthetic (the husband and wife team who make the pieces in the first picture of the Halloween items below) also suits me very well. They make excellent German inspired vintage reproduction pieces. I have a good size collection now of Easter, Christmas & Halloween items. They are also reasonably priced, which is great. I'm so happy I found out about such wonderful local artists, who make such gorgeous, unique pieces. I've never seen any other current artists who make pieces close to theirs. My mom has been buying from the Stamms for a long time now, so she introduced me to them, and I started going out with her to their shop about two years ago.
