Hello there, and Happy New Year's! Today I spent all day antiquing with my mom in Adamstown, PA; otherwise known as the antique capital of the U.S., and that title is no joke. We went in 7 antique malls, and there were more we didn't hit. I only bought two things: a tablecloth and a small juice glass, so I still have more Christmas money to spend from my dad (he gave me money specifically to buy antiques with).
We ended up talking to an antique vendor at one mall for quite awhile, about twenty minutes. He had a really great booth too; with a lot of antique holiday items. My mom bought one piece from him. He was so nice and interesting to talk to; I love meeting people with the same interests I have, as I hardly ever get to do that. It's nice to meet people that just "get it", and don't think what you collect/the way you dress, etc. is weird or baffling.
My parents' dog, Heidi, was at my feet the whole trip out and back, which was really nice, and she looked so cute. She was curled up on a towel, and I put a blanket on her, too.
I also have more Christmas money and an Etsy gift card to spend from others. I haven't been seeing much of anything online lately that I really want. I did buy a Retrospec'd dress that was on sale for under $100, but that's been it.
It's still outrageously freezing outside, with no ending in site in the forecast. It's bumming me out. It normally does not get this cold in December; it's definitely more of a February thing.
It's even going to be in the negatives this week. The temperatures make it really hard to even think about leaving our apartment.
I'm not really one for resolutions, but I'm hoping 2018 is a great year for me and anyone who may be reading! I'm really looking forward to two vacations I'm going on with Bob, and to building our house! My sister is getting married in May, as well, and I'm looking forward to going to Charleston for the bachleorette party.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Jaclyn Big Band Bows print dress that I have blogged about before, and have had about two years now. I wish TD would release this style again! I believe this is the only print they ever released in this style, and this was released a few years ago now. I wear this dress to work a lot, and I love the unique neckline on it. Since the dress has a high neckline, I also don't need to wear a bandeau underneath it, which is pretty rare for me, as I wear one almost every day, and especially to work.

Carnival Time
Hello there! In spite of not having a lot of plans for my week and a half off, I still knew it'd go fast, and of course, it has been. I ran some errands today and yesterday, and tomorrow am supposed to go antiquing all day in Pennsylvania with my mom, but that depends on if it snows. It is supposed to, but as of now, isn't supposed to rally accumulate. She said that if we can't end up going tomorrow, we can go on Sunday instead. So, either way, I'll get there over the weekend, and I can't wait! One of towns we're going antiquing in I've never been to before, so I'm looking forward to checking it out for the first time.
Tonight I'm going out to eat to Friendly's with Bob, and then out for drinks somewhere local. We haven't gotten out, just the two of us, for dinner and/or drinks in a couple of months, so I'm really looking forward to it. Earlier today I cleaned, worked out, & did laundry. I've also gotten to do a lot of reading, and watched some movies over my break, so that's been nice. I've been watching the TCM channel lately (Turner Classic Movies), which my mom has been watching forever. I especially like watching musicals from the 40's & 50's, and watching Jimmy Stewart.
It's kind of crazy that 2018 begins in just a couple of days now! It should be a great year, since we'll be building our house, and should definitely be in it before the end of 2018.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Annette dress in the Carnival print. This is my very favorite print that TD released last year, and one of my all time favorite TD prints. I wore this dress, as well as this print in the Trixie style constantly this summer. The skirt on both dresses is very full, which I love, but in these pictures I'm also wearing my petticoat.
Dress: Trashy Diva
Cropped cardigan: Heart of Haute
Necklace: Splendette
Brooch: Erstwilder

A Very Merry Christmas
Hello there! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas Eve & Christmas, if you celebrate; mine was good. Bob did have to go out and salt; he worked a couple of hours on Christmas Eve & Christmas, which was annoying. I slept over my parents' on Christmas Eve, and Bob came up Christmas Day around 5:00 p.m. All of my grandparents came over at 1:00 p.m. We didn't get much snow, maybe two inches, but it was enough to make a white Chrsitmas, which we hadn't had in a long time.
My parents gave me some Christmas antiques, which is the first time I've gotten any antiques for Christmas. I also got a wallet, jewelry, calendars, etc. from them. My mom really surprised me with the blue bottle brush tree she gave me, and the antique snowman and snowwoman she gave me.
I had been with her at both Christmas antique shows where vendors were selling them, and she knew I liked them. I never thought she bought them for me, though! In fact, the snowman and woma were already sold to someone else, but it was a friend of hers, and she contacted her to ask if the friend would be keeping or selling them (she's an antique dealer).
My dad also gave me money to go antiquing with my mom this Saturday, so I'm happy about that! Hopefully I won't need to spend too much of my own money.
This morning I went to my sister's wedding venue with her and my mom, and then we went to a cake tasting at the bakery she'll be using for her cake.
It's so frigidly cold this week, that it makes me not want to leave my apartment, ugh!! It's not getting out of the twenties for at last another week, either.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Retrospec'd flamenco print Elizabeth dress. I got this one a few months or so ago, via A Classic Paradise. I love the colors in this one, especially that background shade of pink. It's quite tight on my bust, so the Elizabeth is not my favorite Retrospec'd style. The Vivian is a similar style, but fits me better in the bust.

Merry Christmas Eve
Hello there! Merry Christmas Eve! When you're counting down to something for awhile, it seems to be so far, until it finally isn't far away anymore! I hope everyone who celebrates has a great Christmas.
This afternoon I'll be meeting my parents and sister at my grandmother's place to visit, then going to church, then visiting my great uncle, and then going to my aunt and uncle's house. Bob will be going out to eat with his family for dinner, and then meeting me at my aunt and uncle's, and we'll each be sleeping over our parents' houses tonight.
Bob actually has to sleep at his dad's, because we are supposed to get snow overnight, and he can't park his plow truck at our apartment complex. So, he most likely will be salting and/or plowing Christmas morning, which he's never had to do before. We're both not happy about that.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress I got from the Etsy shop Violets in May last year. I did a blog post about it back then, too. I do adore the print on the dress and the pom poms on the bottoms, but I didn't have a great experience with the shop itself, unfortunately. I did talk about that last December, so I'm not going to get into it again, but bottom line is, I wouldn't order from the shop again. As you can see in the pictures, these red heels get
A LOT of use! I wear them all the time. I may need to get a replacement pair soon.
I'll actually be wearing this outfit on Christmas Day, and tonight I'm wearing my PUG ornament skirt that I blogged about recently.

Stroll in the French Quarter
Hello there! I got out of work at 12:20 today, and I'm now off until Tuesday the 2nd. I've never had off for the entire time between Christmas & New Year's before! It's a great feeling. I mean last year I only worked one day ha, but before that, at all my previous jobs, I only had off for Christmas day & New Year's day. My mom and sister are also off the entire ten days. Unforunately, Bob is only off Christmas & New Year's day.
3 MORE DAYS now! So dang soon! My excitement is mounting. I don't think I'll ever not get excited for Christmas. I know my mom still gets very excited, ha.
Tonight I'll be working out and just taking it easy, and relaxing at home. I just have a couple more gifts to wrap, and I'll be watcing "Polar Express", too. I haven't seen that movie in years. I also may re-watch "White Christmas" tonight; I already watched it a few weeks ago, but it's my favorite!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva French Quarter Annette dress that I so adore. This is a very rare, sought after TD print, and I scored it on Poshmark two years ago. I was at the right place at the right time! It was a bigger size than I normally wear, so my mom took the waist in for me, and then it was perfect! The print is such a gorgeous piece depicting the French Quarter in New Orleans in the 1800's or early 1900's.
I don't know how soon I'll be going back to NOLA, but I'm always eager to visit again! The next trip Bob and I are taking together is to Nashville, at the end of May. Only 5 months to go....ugh.

Shiny Brites
Hello there! Today after work I ran to the same antique mall I went to last Friday, which is about 15 minutes from my job. I went there because I had time to kill before the board meeting tonight, which starts at 5:30. I also knew I had seen a enamel flower brooch in a display case last time that caught my eye, so I wanted to take a look at it outside of the case. The price was right (only $10), so I got it, and of course, while walking around, I spotted more items I wanted. I am seriously very impressed with this antique mall! It has a great selection, and great prices. I picked up a vintage cold cream jar (to display on my vintage vanity I'll be getting for our bedroom in our house), a vintage dessert tin to display, and a small vintage Christmas tablecloth.
I don't have much else going on the rest of the week yet, but Sunday I'll be going to church in the evening, and then going to my aunt and uncle's for dinner. I'm not sure yet if I'll be sleeping over my parents' that night, or staying at the apartment. I've been waiting on Bob to give me an answer on what he wants to do that night, himself.
In the pictures beow I'm wearing my new Pinup Girl Clothing ornament skirt, that I love oh so much! It arrived a week ago, and I've worn it four(!) times already! I wore it to work twice, to my work party last Saturday, and to a family dinner. I CAN'T STOP!! Previously my Oblong Box Shop reindeer skirt was my favorite Christmasy item of clothing, but this definitely rivals it for my #1 spot. I have gotten endless compliments on this beauty. I love how colorful the skirt is, and also that the ornaments are mid century ones! I do love Shiny Brites very much. I only have a few so far, and a couple of tree toppers, but can't wait to get more for when we get our vintage aluminum Christmas tree for next Christmas.

Blue New Year's Eve
Hello there! Last night Bob and I went to my work party, and we had a good time. We were there almost 7 hours! There was tons of food, and I was so full about halfway through, ha.
Christmas is a week from tomorrow!! I'm quite excited for it, and to have off for a week and a half. I have a half day this Friday, so 4.5 days of work lay between now and my break.
I have a board meeting this Wednesday night, but other than that, nothing else really going on as of yet, which is nice, because I was busy Friday night & yesterday.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Bernie Dexter New Year's Eve print Drive In dress. I originally had it in the black version, but ended up exchanging for this blue version as soon as I saw it. This is obviously much brighter than black is, so I'm happy I was able to exchange for this one!
This dress is obviously perfect for NYE, but it's too pretty not to wear year round. So, I'll definitely be wearing it for plenty of other occasions. I'll be wearing it at home this NYE; Bob and I are just staying in that night. How perfectly does this mint PUG purse match this dress?! I had a feeling they would. I just threw this dress on and took pictures, wthout accessorizing, so for once, I am sans accessories!
This week was absolutely freezing out, so I wore these leggings under my dresses almost every day.
