Hello there! I'm so glad I have a three day weekend this weekend, even though I already had a short week, due to the school I work at being closed for a snow day on Tuesday (we didn't end up getting much snow at all, but did get freezing rain), and then we had a delayed opening on Wednesday).
Last night Bob and I went out with my extended family to dinner, for my grandfather's birthday, and because my aunt, uncle, and cousin who live in Texas are up here for a visit. We only see my Texas relatives once or twice a year, so it's always really nice to get to see them. Tonight I'll be going to my parents' house for dinner, with my extended family again.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Bernie Dexter dress, in a brand new style of hers. This dress is called the Joy dress. She first released this print probably close to a year ago, and even though I LOVED the print, I didn't like the style she released it in, so I crossed my fingers in hopes she'd end up releasing it in a style I loved. Well, it took awhile, but eventually she released the Joy.
I love the adorable faux buttons, and am so glad she used faux buttons, since I have issues with the dreaded button gaping. She also released a Joy dress in a redish/orangeish gingham print, which is super cute, but I think I'm going to restrain myself from getting it.
I also love that there's pink in this dress, and that my pink BAIT heels match. I don't get to wear these pink heels too often, as most of my dresses don't match them. But, the shoes are probably my favorite shade of pink.

Hello there! There's only two and a half weeks left of February, which makes me excited! January and February are my least favorite months, and I can't wait for spring to arrive next month. Winter always seems to last so very long. As many great things that there are about living in the area we live in; to me, the winters are the worst thing about it.
Friday night Bob and I went out to have dinner and drinks to celebrate Valentine's Day; we didn't want to go on the actual day, when it'd be really busy, and we are going out to eat next Saturday with my family. Yesterday I went out to lunch with some friends who I used to work with, and I see every month or two. I also went to an antique mall after that, and I got two pieces of Pyrex for $13! I love getting deals.
Next weekend my aunt, uncle, and cousin who live in Texas will be coming here, so that's why my extended family is going out to dinner then; it's also my grandfather's birthday on Friday.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter kitty print Darlene dress that I bought about two years ago. I don't think Bernie made any other Darlene style dresses; although this style is quite similar to her other shirt dresses. I love pink, it's one of my favorite colors, but believe it or not, I don't have many dresses with a lot of pink in them. I'd say most of my dresses have a lot of red and blue in them. I also LOVE kitties, so this is obviously a great print for me.

Hello there! It was a miserably cold week, but it's FINALLY starting to ease up a bit, and by tomorrow it'll be fifty degrees, which I'm very excited about! I actually went outside and started my car two of the mornings and let it run for a bit before leaving to go to work, which I never do. This winter I've also taken to wearing a blanket over my legs while driving, which probably makes me like an old lady, but I don't care! I have leather seats, and am usually wearing a dress with leggings underneath, so I still really feel the freezing seats, and while I have seated heats, they take a little while to warm up.
Bob and I are going to Vegas in two and a half months, and I am most definitely counting down, and planning outfits, as well as planning what we'll be doing. We haven't been in two years, which is the longet we've gone without going, since we started going about nine years ago. We have our hotel and flights booked now. Our hotel is The Gold Coast, which we've never stayed at before, but convienently has free shuttle service back and forth to The Orleans, which is where Viva is held.
Things have been pretty quiet recently, which I suppose is typical for winter time. We did go to my parents' house last night for a turkey dinner, and my grandparents came as well.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter record print dress. I got this a couple of years ago, and love the fun 50's print. I have a lot of Bernie Kelly dresses, but the ones she's been releasing lately haven't been must haves for me. They're really comfortable dresses, and I wear them to work all the time, as well as outside of work.

Hello there! I took off on Friday, so I had a lovely three day weekend, which still managed to fly by, even though I didn't do a lot. Last night Bob and I went out to dinner for Chinese food with his father, father's girlfriend, and his brother. I never eat Chinese, but the handful of times I have I get beef and broccoli, which was really good last night. After that Bob and I went to a bar for a couple of drinks.
So, other than going out last night, and running some errands Friday morning, I've just been hanging at home. I've definitely watched a lot of "Scandal". I'm almost done with season four. I had never seen any of the show until I just started watching it on Netflix. I like that there's a lot of twists and turns, but some of the storylines are corny, and repetitive.
Bob and I have also been watching "Seinfeld". I bought him the entire series on DVD for Christmas. "Seinfeld" is one of our all time favorite TV shows, and it's still hilarious, no matter how many times we've seen certain episodes!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me Trashy Diva Elsa dress. It has a narrower skirt than I prefer, but I still adore this dress. It's also a lot less colorful of a color palette than I usually lean towards, but I LOVE the music note design on the top part, and love how 1940's it looks. I don't really have jewelry to match it either, besides the Luxulite earrings I'm wearing here.

Hello there! Well, the HUGE snowstorm they were predicting this weekend didn't live up to the expectations, at all. I think we got maybe two inches. It's going to be in the 40's today, but ZERO degreees overnight, UGH...which means when I leave for work tomorrow it's going to be ZERO, which I am so not looking forward to. I never start my car and let it warm up, but I think I'll be doing that Monday and Tuesday during this artic blast we'll be getting.
There's nothing really new going on with me; this weekend's been a quiet one. My mom stopped over to visit yesterday, and I ran an errand, and just cleaned and did laundry, worked out, and relaxed. Next Saturday night Bob and I are going to my parent's house for dinner, with my grandparents, and aunt and uncle.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my beloved Trashy Diva French Quarter Annette dress, that I got three years ago on Poshmark. It's near and dear to my heart, because New Orleans is my FAVORITE city! I've been missing it a lot lately; Bob and I haven't been in over two years, although my mom and I went about fifteen months ago.
When Bob and I went last, it was only for a couple of days too; I'd love to go back with him soon for four days, that's the perfect amount of time there for us. I doubt we'll be getting back there too soon though, because we're going to Vegas in three months, and also planning on going to Ireland, England, and maybe Scotland around September! We haven't booked anything yet for Europe, but I need to start looking into things soon. So exciting! I just KNOW I'm going to absolutely love Ireland; I've only heard great things about it, and there's no better sound to my ears than the Irish accent, and I can't wait to be surrounded by that accent and the beautiful landscape.

Hello there! We are nearly alfway through January, which makes me happy. Bob and I are just staying in today. Yesterday I cleaned and did laundry (fun!), went to an antique mall where I got a Bakelite bangle for $11(!) and a gorgeous Shiny Brite indent ornament, and Friday evening Bob and I went out to dinner and ran an errand.
We don't have much going on in the next couple of months; I'm going to one antique show with my mom at the end of February, and going antiquing with my mom in the middle of March in Pennsylvania. This is definitely the slow time of the year for weekend activities.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my very first true vintage dress, which I bought almost two years ago, at a vintage shop in Nashville. Best $40 I ever spent! The colors are so bright and happy, and though the dress is big at the waist, the matching belt hides that. It's impossible not to have my spirits lifted when I'm wearing this outfit. The outfit is obviously perfect for spring, but that doesn't stop me for wearing it year round, ha.
My newest Enid bag matches the dress, as does my new Pyrex piece! The Pyrex bowl isn't vintage; Pyrex is still being released currently. I got this bowl and another bigger one for only $19, including tax and shipping, from the Pyrex website. They were having a buy one, get one 50% off sale. Target sells some of their bowls, too.

Hello there! Well, it's officially 2019! Happy New Year. January and February are my least liked months, so I'm really wishing I could just fast forward through them. We're still getting rain here, as we have been constantly since June. I don't know how we're not flooding everywhere. Also, because of all the doom and gloom, and shorter sunlight hours, almost all of my outfit pictures are going to have crappy lighting, unfortunately.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Tatyana dress that arrived yesterday. I snagged it for half off during their recent sale. I had liked it since I first saw it in come out in the early fall. I ordered a size up from my normal Tatyana size, because of the buttons on the front; I didn't want any gaping. Well, turns out I should've ordered TWO sizes up, because this is super tight on my chest; I wasn't even sure if I'd get it to button, and I can only wear a certain bra with it. So, that's a bit annoying, but other than that, I really like the dress. Luckily, in spite of how dang tight it is, there's no button gaping!
It has a nice full skirt, but I am wearing a petticoat here, to add even more volume. Since the dress was final sale, I can't exchange it for the next size up.
In the pictures below I'm also featuring my new to me vintage Enid Collins purse that arrived yesterday, too. I bought both items with Christmas money, and still have Christmas money left over (I've also used it for some other things, ike antiquing last Sunday, and buying another Enid Collins purse). I've developed quite the interest in/love of Enid Collins bags, if you hadn't noticed. I don't love all of her many designs, but I do love quite a few of them, mostly her colorful floral ones. I do also love some of her sea life ones, and have two with a fish print.
The one drawback to her bags is that because they are fiftyish years old, the straps on the bags can have a lot of wear, and sometimes need replacing. I was using one one day, and both straps broke, so I had to carry it in my arms, ha, until I got home. So, getting the straps replaced is an additional cost to the bag. I paid $25 for each purse I had straps replaced on (only two so far, but I may need more done in the near future). The purse I'm wearing here has a lot of wear on the straps, but I'm hoping it'll hold out for a little while.
Oh, and I was so excited to try on the dress when it came, that I didn't steam it first. As you can see, there's plenty of wrinkles on the skirt part of the dress, but I have since steamed it, ha.
