Hello there! I am SO happy it's a three day weekend! It's been two months since I've had a long weekend, and it's seemed like even longer. Yesterday I went to a flea market about half an hour from me. I haven't really been to one since I was a kid. I didn't know what to expect, but was hoping I'd find some goodies, and good deals.
I got a vintage cookie jar I'd been after for awhile, two 50's spaghetti poodle figurine sets (only $10 each), a Blendo glass (for ten cents), and a 60's vintage enamel flower brooch. Admission to get in was only $2, too. I'm really glad I went! It wasn't as big as I thought it'd be, and there weren't really any vintage holiday items or 50's items. I pretty much snagged all the 50's items, ha.
Today Bob and I are going to his cousin's house for a Labor Day bbq. We got there every year. His cousin's wife is pregnant with their first child (due in two months), and I haven't seen her in a few months.
We leave for our big trip in just twelve(!!) days now. When I think about it, my stomach gets butterflies! I'm so looking forward to it, and just imagining what it will be like is exciting.
I hope we find the right balance of hitting most of the things we want to see, but not rushing around too much.
In
the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Retrospec'd dres that I
snagged in their latest sale a couple of weeks or so ago. I loved this
print since I first saw it about a year ago. The colors of the roses are
so beautiful. The Vivian is one of my favorite styles they make; it's
comfortable and fits me well. Some of their other styles are super tight
on my bust, while they fit my waist.

Hello there! This weekend's been another pretty quiet one for me. Bob worked at our house all day yesterday, with his friend and dad. Acually, they worked on building our garage, which is going to be a longer process than Bob originally thought. Most of our siding is up on our house now, though.
Last night Bob and I went out for drinks in town. Next weekend will be more eventful, as we're going to a labor day bbq on Sunday, and Saturday I'm going to a flea market. I haven't been to a flea market since I was a child, and I'm really hoping this one is good.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Hawaiian Dream Claire dress. This dress is made out of stretch rayon, and is super comfortable. I have this style in another print, too. I don't find this style to be too flattering on me as is, so I belt it and wear a petticoat with it.
This is the first time I'm pairing this Enid Collins purse with it, and I love the combination.
I'm going to bring this dress to Europe with me, to wear to tiki bars in London. They picked such a stunning vintage print to do a reproduction of; this is definitely one of my all time favorite tropical/tiki prints I've ever seen.

Hello there! It's been a fairly quiet weekend around here. Bob and I went to dinner on Friday, and yesterday he was busy all day and night, between working at our house, cooking, and running errands. Yesterday I went to an antique mall I hadn't been to in a few months, and I spent just $16, which was great. I got two small glasses and a set of vintage Coney Island postcards. The graphics on vintage postcards are so wonderful, and I've recently started looking for them. I especially love vacation/desination ones as well as Christmas ones.
I've been watching the last season of "Orange is the New Black" on Netflix. I think the show isn't as good as it was the first couple of seasons, but I'm still invested in it, although Bob isn't interested in it anymore. Bob and I also started the thid season of "Glow" on Netflix Friday night, when it was released.
Our planning mode for our trip in a month(!!) is in full swing now. Bob is also really into planning it, which is great! We've been watching and taking notes on the Ireland and England episodes of "The Layover" and "Parts Unknown"; Anthony Bourdain shows. I also have a lot of places saved in my Trip Advisor accont for the countries we're going to, plus I've written down recommendations I've gotten from people.
It's going to be tough when we've over there, trying to hit everything we want to hit, but we don't want to make the trip too booked/rushed, plus you always find more places to see once you're actually there, and also we get recommendations from locals once we're over there.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Elsa dress that I got back in the winter. It's definitely not my usual color palette, and doesn't have my usual full skirt, but I still adore this dress. It's very 40's, but I often mix decades. In these pictures I'm wearing vintage 50's sunglasses, and a vintage 60's Enid Collins purse. I wore this outfit to dinner with Bob on Friday. I got this purse along with another beautiful EC purse on eBay a few months ago, for such a great price. I think it was about $40 for both, at the Buy it Now price! I couldn't believe my luck.
Dress: Trashy Diva
Purse: Vintage (eBay)

Hello there! This weekened hasn't been too eventful; yesterday I went antiquing to a couple of local spots. I got a small ceramic Christmas tree, a mid century glass churner (not sure what it would churn?) with pink accents, and two small glasses with roosters on them, one has pink rooster, and one has blue. Two of my favorite things to collect is colorful, mid century glasswear, and 50's Christmas decor. Ceramic trees are very popular now, both vintage and new tree, and can be quite pricey. I got my little one for $12.
After I got back from antiquing, my mom stopped by for a bit. Later on I cleaned and did laundry, and Bob and I finished "Stranger Things"! I didn't want it to end, ugh. I hate how you have to wait a year for the next season of these shows! I forget most of what happened by then, ha.
This week I'll be meeting a friend for dinner after work one night, and also meeting my family for dinner one night. I don't have much planned yet for this upcoming weekend.
I don't want the rest of July or August to fly by, but I am super excited for September! Not only are Bob and I going to the U.K., but I also just found out my friend who lives in Vegas is coming home to Pennsylvania the first weekend in September, so I'll get to meet up with her while she's home!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Carnival Annette dress, that I've had for two and a half years. I've worn it many, many times. The print is so beautiful, and the colors are stunning. This is one of my all time favorite vintage reprodution novelty prints. Trashy Diva hasn't been releasing many novelty prints in awhile now; I really wish they'd go back to doing that more often. My new sage green Splendette bangles match the dress so well.
When I wore this dress to dinner on Friday night, the bartender asked if I was going to a party....nope, lady, this is just the way I dress!

Hello there! I didn't realize I hadn't blogged in three weeks; that just slipped by. This past weekend I had a three day weekend; I had off on Friday. I didn't do a lot either, so I had a lot of relaxation time, which was nice. Saturday afternoon my mom and I went antiquing locally, and I just got a piece of turquoise Pyrex. In the evening Bob and I went out to dinner, and then ran errands.
I'm happy this week is another short week at work, for the 4th of July. I do work on Friday, though; I know some people don't, since the 4th is on a Thursday. Bob and I are going to my parent's house on the 4th. My sister will be home, and my grandparents, and a few others are coming, too. I'll be making blondies; if you've never had them, they're amazing. They're brownies that taste like chocolate chip cookies!
The roof is on our house now, and next is the plumbing work, which I believe will begin this week.
We've been having quite the heat wave, with it being about 90 almost all of last week, and going to be for most of this week, although today and yesterday weren't as bad. I wish the ocean were right next door, instead of an hour and a half away!
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore to go out to eat on Saturday night. This is truly one of my favorite dresses, and I also find it to be quite flattering on me. The skirt isn't full, since the style is a 1940's style, and not my usual 50's style, but I still love it. I have worn this dress a lot since I got it a few months ago. I think the print and the colors in it are so beautiful. I have a few Bakelite bangles that match the colors in the feathers so well, so I always wear those bangles with it.

Hello there! Yesterday Bob and I went to New Hope, PA. We hadn't been in a year, and I was itching to go back. The weather was perfect; warm and sunny. We sat at an outdoor bar, and I had a delicious after-Thanksgiving sandwich; turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. We went to the same outdoor bar last time we were there, and ordered the same meals as last time, too. I'm definitely a creature of habit, ha.
We also went in a couple of vintage shops, and Bob found a button down shirt. We stopped at an antique mall/flea market on our way back, which was supposed to be open until four p.m., but when we got there around 3:15, there were only a couple of vendors at the flea market left, and only a few vendors open inside. How annoying is that?! It wasn't 3:55. We didn't buy anything, which wasn't surprising!
Today I've been doing A LOT of research on Ireland, which is the first stop of our UK trip in three(!!) months. I can't believe how much research it takes, and I'm still not done looking.
I haven't even started in on England or Scotladn, either. As far as Ireland goes, I'm most excited about going to Galway, it seems right up my alley. It's a city, with tons of pubs, restaurants, live Irish music, shops, and is on the water. Right now, we're thinking of going for three nights. It would be nice to stay in one place for three nights, as we'll be doing a lot of moving around throghout our trip. I think we'll also be in London for three nights.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Psychedelic Dragons Trashy Diva dress I got a year ago. With all of the color on it, it's as "me" as a dress could be! It's definitely more of a 70's print, which is my only 70's item in my wardrobe. With all of the color, I thought it was a great choice to wear in New Hope too, because it's a very gay friendly town. The sandals I'm wearing only match a few of my dresses, but I just adore them, and will be wearing them as often as I can this summer!

Hello there! I had another three day weekend this weekend, as I took Friday off. I've been using up my extra vacation and personal days by taking off on some Fridays. I haven't done a whole lot this weekend, but last night Bob and I went out for dinner to a place we hadn't been to before. The batender was really nice, which is obviously a plus. We like to sit at the bar when we go out to eat, particularly because we find the service can be better/quicker at the bar than a table.
I also went over to our property yesterday, as Bob wanted me to take a look at the progress on our house consturction. The construction started on Wednesday, and it's already almost all framed. He's very excited about it, and I am too, I just wish we could move in NOW! I told him as soon as he builds the deck, which will be this summer, I want to go over there on weekends and hang out on the deck, even though the house won't be ready yet to move into. I was able to walk around on the first floor, and he wanted me to go upstairs to check out the second floor, but I don't like using ladders, and the ladder that was there seemed old, too.
I'm so happy it's JUNE! I'm just such a summer girl, and look forward to it all year. Our anniversary is in 19 days, and I can't wait to go away for a long weekend with Bob.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter bee dress. This print is so darn cute, and I just love wearing turquoise. This Enid Collins purse pairs really well the dress, too.
I got this purse back in September, and while the colors aren't super bright, I still love it.
I bought these white Remix sandals at Viva this year, and I've already worn them countless times. They obviously go well with a lot of my wardrobe, plus they're super comfortable!

Hello there! I'm loving this long weekend; I actually have a four day weekend, which is even better! So far it's been a good one. Friday I cleaned and did laundry, took a walk, and just stayed in at night and watched a movie. Saturday I went to Adamstown by myself (my mom was going to come, but ended up going out to Ohio with my dad instead), and last night Bob and I went out to dinner, and then stopped at a bar for a drink. Tomorrow we're going to his family's bbq.
I usually go to Adamstown twice a year, and I don't always find much, but it's still fun to go and look. It's about an hour & 45 minutes from me, but it's worth it. It's know as the antique capital of the U.S., because of how many antique malls and shops there are there. My parents have been going there for about thirty years now. I didn't spend too much money yesterday, but still got a few items I really like, which is the perfect combination! I got a Lustroware cookie cansister (plastic) that had wanted for awhile, and will look great in our red and turquoise kitchen in our house, an ice cream carton with Bing Crosby on it, a drinking glass with atomic stars on it, and some vintage postcards.
By the way, we closed on our construction loan for our house on Friday, FINALLY!!!! It's taken such an unbelievably long time, and the process has been fraught with frustration for us, but especially for Bob, who has been the one dealing with the bank and contractors. He works in the construction industry, which is the main reason why he is dealing with the contractors himself.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me vintage dress that I got from Etsy. I haven't been buying many dresses lately, but this one really spoke to me. It has a zip front!!! I LOVE zip fronts; they're so much easier than a back or side zip, and buttons usually mean gaping, which I hate. Front zips on vintage dresses seem to be rare, too. When I saw the measurement sfor the dress, I crossed my fingers it'd fit me, since my measurements are an inch or two bigger than the dress, but it fits like a glove. I just adore that beautiful floral print, and I really love pink and turquoise together.

Hello there! April went by so quickly, and I'm glad it's May! The weather is consistently staying warmer, although there can be days where the high is 55, and days where it's almost 80. I'm so glad it's not freeizing cold in the mornings anymore, though. Usually the jacket or coat I picked out to wear in the morning, I definitely don't need in the afternoon.
Our trip to Vegas for Viva was so much fun, but as usual, went by in a blur, because we did so much. The highlights were going to the Neon Museum for our first time (which has a graveyard of old neon signs from Vegas hotels, restaurants, bars, etc.), meeting up with two longtime Instagram friends of mine; I had never met them in person before, going to Frankie's Tiki Room, which is our favorite bar anywhere, going to Peppermill, my favorite restaurant in Vegas (so kitschy and cute!), seeing the Charles Phoenix slideshow (our third time doing so), and of course shopping and seeing the live music!
We also visited a couple of restaurants we had never been to in Vegas before, and we loved both of them so much that we went a few times to each of them. McMullan's is an Irish pub located next to the Orleans (where Viva is held); the food, drink, and service are great, and we heard a wonderful Irish singer the one night we were there. I'm so charmed by the Irish accent and Irish music. I just know I'm going to cry when we get to Ireland; I'll be so overwhelmed by it all.
I really waned to go to the Nashville Boogie this month, even though Bob won't go this time, I was going to go by myself, but in the end I decided I shouldn't spend the money. I'm hoping we'll be going away to Cape May and Wildwood for a long weekend for our 5th wedding anniversary next month, possibly going to Massachusetts in July for a weekend, and then of course our Europe trip in the fall, so between all of that, that's a substanial amount of money we'll be spending in the near future.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Charles Phoenix/Pinup Girl Clothing collaboration fish Jenny dress that I got a year ago. I seriously love wearing this dress. It fits better than the rest of my Jennys, too. I love a good theme, so naturally I can't resist pairing the dress with my Match Accessories fish necklace and my Enid Collins fishy purse! Too much?? NEVER!
I really only wear this dress in the late spring and summer, so I want to get as much wear out of it as possible during that time.

Hello there! I've had a pretty nice three day weekend thus far. In spite or not doing a ton of things, it stills flies by, of course. Yesterday was the MOST perfect, gorgeous spring day!! It got up to 74 degrees, and was very sunny. I was happy to be out and about for a few hours, driving with my windows down and sun roof open. I met friends for lunch, and then went to an antique mall, where I found a couple of items. I could've bought more, but restrained myself.
Friday night Bob and I went out to dinner to a place we had never been to before, about fifteen minutes away. It was okay, but we probably won't go back anytime soon. It's nice to try new place sometimes though, despite the fact that I'm a creature of habit.
Tomorrow is April(!!!), and it'll be two weeks until we leave for our Vegas vacation. March went by really fast, so I'm hoping the trend continues, and that the next two weeks fly by. I'm beyond ready to go away.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Trashy Diva dress, that I got early in the month. I really love this gorgeous 1940's reproduction print, which is called Showgirl Royalty. The style I'm wearing is called the 1940's. I have I believe five TD 1940's dresses now. I really love wearing this style, even though it doesn't have the big, full circle skirt that dominates my closet.
The Enid Collins purse in the pictures is my latest EC. I love how the background color is blue, instead of the typical tan/off-white color, or black. This purse is in mint condition, which is very rare for EC purses; there's almost always at least wear to the handles (and even sometimes one or both handles will have broken), but this beautiful purse appears to be unused.
