Walking Rainbow

Hello there! The rain seems to have slowed down here; thankfully. We haven't gotten any in a few days, although it's been overcast off and on since. I'm just so glad it's June! It's two weeks until the official start of summer, and also my four year wedding anniversary. We'll be attending a rockabilly show that night; Reverend Horton Heat is playing, an less than half an hour away from us! We're really looking forward to it. We've never gotten to see a local rockabilly show before, with a big act like this. Lara Hope & The Arktones and also Big Sandy are the opening acts. We've seen Lara Hope play at the Nashville Boogie twice, but haven't seen Big Sandy before.
Saturday I'll be going to an antique show with my mom, about an hour from where I live.
Saturday night I'll be getting together with a friend. Sunday I think we'll just be hanging out at home.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a vintage rainbow dress I got a year ago and adore. I love the bright pastel shades! I just wish the skirt was fuller, but I don't think it could be, because of how thin the material is. No matter, the dress is gorgeous! The dress has a metal side zip (the bane of my existence!), and since the material is so silky, when Bob helps me zip it up I'm always afraid my skin will get pinched in it. In fact, when I was taking it off recently, I did zip my skin a bit! Not fun!

Pastel Rainbow Brite

Hello there! I left work early today, because I had a stomach ache, and luckily it pretty much went away now, I just have a bit of soreness. I'm not sure what that was about, and I'm very lucky, I almost never have any stomach issues. I didn't want to have to leave work, but I'm glad I left when I did (around noon), as it just got worse after I got home.
Yesterday Bob and I went to his friend's surprise 35th birthday party, which was about 40 minutes away. Bob doesn't see his friends much, especially the ones who live farther away, so he was really happy to go to the party yesterday, which was held at a different friend's house. We got to meet his friend's 6 week old son while we were there! He was soooo adorable! He hardly cried, either, which was nice.
Saturday I met my friend at Panera, and then we went to a couple of nearby shops.
I got a hot air balloon print scarf; I don't usually buy scarves unless they are winter/outdoor scarves, but this one was too cute to pass up, and only $9.99!
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore yesterday to the surprise party. I love this vintage dress SO darn much. I don't wear it to work though, as it's a thin, satiny type material, and I don't want to risk damaging it at work. I wear some of my vintage dresses to work, but not all of them. I don't own too many pastel colored dresses, but the pastel shades in this dress are bright shades of pastel, and I really love them.

I'm wearing one of my new pairs of BAIT shoes in these pictures. I hadn't like many of BAIT's releases in the past few months or so, but they released a lot of new shoes last week, and I loved these, and I got one other pair, which is dark blue and tan. I love this bright shade of green, and the style. It's a new BAIT style, as is the blue pair that I got. I think BAIT usually does 30% off for Black Friday, and I'm already thinking of a couple of pairs I'd like to get then!

Rainbow Vintage

Hello there! Yesterday I had a full day of antiquing with my mom in Adamstown, PA. We hadn't been since December. Adamstown is known as the antique capital of the U.S. There's
over 1,000 vendors in 7 miles. We went to about seven antique malls while we were there.
A couple of the big ones aren't open on Saturdays, unfortunately, which to me is very odd.
I found a few small things: two cheap bangles, a plastic Santa (it still lights up when plugged in!), an adorable cherry print apron, and a Christmas recipe box. My favorite find was the Santa. I had first seen it on the cover of Golden Glow magazine a few months ago, and I loved it! After that, I didn't see it while browsing online or at antique stores, until yesterday.
I found it for $22.40 (it was 10% off), and then at the next antique mall I went in with, I saw another one, marked $85 and it was 20% off, but still, I think I got a really good deal!
The recipe box was only $3 and the apron was $8!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my latest true vintage dress! I only had one before this, the one I bought in Nashville, and that I mentioned in my last blog post. I bought this vintage beauty from an Etsy shop called Zest Vintage. I had never heard of the shop before, but an online friend tagged me in the shop's Instagram post about this amazing dress. Luckily I saw the tag a few minutes after, and immediately went to Zest's Etsy shop, although I figured it probably wouldn't be in my size. To my amazement, it was my size! I was so excied and bought it lightning fast. When I went back to Instagram to thank the lovely lady who tagged me, she told me she checked out the measurements before tagging me in the post! Wasn't that so kind of her to do?? Even though it seemed the dress would fit me, it does have a dreaded side zipper, so I was still somewhat nervous about it zipping.
When I got home after antiquing yesterday, the dress was there waiting for me. I put it on first thing, and was even able to zip it by myself, without assistance from Bob. I was so relieved! I of course LOVE the bright pastel rainbow print! The material is thin and lightweight. I love the matching belt it came with, too. After finding this dress I did an Etsy search and there were a few more of these rainbow dresses on Etsy, but none with the belt. The brand is Jerry Gilden, and I'll definitely keep doing Etsy & eBay searches for more of that brand's vintage dresses!
