Green Kimono

Hello there! I'm so glad it's a three day weekend! I also have a 3 1/2 day weekend this coming week. I'm taking a half day on Friday, and took off the following Monday, because Bob and I are going to Wildwood and Cape May for three nights. I've never been to either town before, and am very excited to check them out! The trip will involve lots of ice cream and antiquing, looking at the gorgeous "painted ladies" (Cape May is known for their Victorian houses painted in all different pastel colors), beach time, going to Irish pubs, and scoping out all the 1950's neon signs in Wildwood. Wildwood has the largest concentration of 50's motels in the U.S.! We're staying at a 50's motel that is also authentically 50's decorated in the rooms (decorated with anituqes as well as repro items).
We're also going a little out of our way on the drive down (will add about a half hour to our drive time) to check out an antique mall. I found it on Instagram, and it looks like a good one, so I want to check it out, since I won't ge tthe chance to again for a long time, ha.
Last night Bob and I went to my parent's house for dinner, and Bob's dad and brother also came over. I'm also meeting my mom and grandmother for lunch at Panera today. I'm staying home otherwise today and tomorrow.
In other travel news, in the beginning of October I'm going to New Orleans and Nashville.
I'm going to New Orleans with my parents; my dad will be there on a business trip, so I'm staying in their hotel room, and hanging out with my mom there, while he's stuck in meetings. He's going back home on a Wednesday, and my mom and I are staying through Thursday, and flying to Nashville together on Thursday, to visit my sister. My aunt and cousin are also going to come up to Nashville from Texas. I'm flying back Saturday evening, and my mom is returning on Sunday evening.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trash Diva Green Kimono Anna dress. I've had it for a couple of years now, and it's still a very worn and loved piece in my closet. The material is so light and airy, and the print is a dream. There's so many colors in it; it's so easy to wear with a variety of different accessories and shoes, although I pretty much always chose an armful of rainbow Bakelite to wear with it; I can't resist.

  1. Hello! You have some amazing Bernie Dexter Dresses and I have recently purchased a few and LOVE them! How do you keep them looking so fresh and new? Do you hand wash in cold and hang dry, or dry clean? Have you had any issues with colors (especially red) bleeding? Thank you SO much for your help, I want to take good care of my Bernie Dexter Dresses!! JoAnn :)
