Hello there! Well, I'm back safe & sound from the southern road trip I took with my husband. We got back last night, after ten hours on the road yesterday. Vacations always go so fast, don't they?? It was great to get to explore four cities we had never been to before. Our favorite of the four was Savannah. We were only in Richmond & Raleigh one night each, but found both to be smaller than we had anticipated, so it turned out well that we only had one night in both. I only bought on piece of clothing the whole trip; a Trashy Diva L'amour dress at Bygone's Vintage in Richmond.
The big downside to the trip though, was the extremly hot and humid weather in all four cities. I knew before we went that it'd be like that, but that didn't make it any easier, ha.
I tried wearing my hair down during the day in the beginning of the trip, but quickly found out that didn't work so well, since I was constantly sweating, and my hair would look end up looking like crap before too long. It was better to wear it down later at night, when it cooled down a bit (it never cooled down too much). Other than that, I had a fun trip. I'll write more about the trip in later blog posts.
For now I'm going to post pictures of my newest Bernie dress. The dress arrived while we were away. It runs tighter in the bust than my other Bernies in this same style and size. It's very hard to zip it all the way up. So, that's annoying. If I had known ahead of time that it ran smaller in the bust, I definitely would've sized up. Maybe, *hopefully*, it'll stretch out a bit with wear? Fingers crossed. At least it does zip though. But, man, do I love this print! I love a great red lipstick, and the dress has varying shades of red lipstick, and also an orange shade. I'm not normally one for gold, but I don't mind it on this dress. I love Bernies lipstick prints so much, that I'm considering getting the one with the black background, too. I'd obviously size up in that one.

Hello there! After having a pretty full weekend, it's really nice to have today off to take it easy. We had a good time at Bob's parent's bbq yesterday. I ran a couple of quick errands earlier today, and other than that, am just staying in, doing some reading, outfit pictures, Netflix watching, phone calls, vacation planning, that sort of thing. It's humid out again today, but has cooled down a bit from how hot is was this weekend.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter Paris style rose print dress. I have a few Paris style Bernies. They are not my favorite style of hers, but she has been putting out a lot of them lately in prints that I love. The bottom part of the shelf bust is so much above the bottom of my bust, but I don't really mind, because I still think it looks good, and isn't that noticeable. The background color of this dress is spectacular (and not that common), and to me just as special as the print itself.

Hello there! I'm not doing much tonight, just going to be reading and watching TV. I don't have much going on this weekend yet either, just going to my parent's on Mother's Day. We're having pulled pork that my mom's making, and my grandparents are coming over. Hopefully it's a nice enough day to sit outside!
I had an excellent mail day today. I received the Pin Up Girl Clothing Paris Jenny that I'm wearing in the pictures below, two Erstwilder brooches, and two pairs of BAIT shoes. I used to have the Pin Up Girl Clothing Jenny Paris skirt a couple of years ago, but ended up selling it, because I don't love the Jenny skirts on me. I much prefer the Jenny dresses. This print is amazingly gorgeous!! I would LOVE to check out Paris one day. It just seems like it needs to be seen to be believed. It definitely near the top of my overseas list. (Ireland and Italy are at the very top.)

Hello there! Last night Bob and I went out to eat with his family at Friendly's, for his mom's birthday. We ended up being seated next to about ten little girls and a couple of their moms, for one of the little girl's birthdays. It got loud at times, and was annoying. But, the whole situation was just funny. We went over to his parent's house afterwards for cake. It was carrot cake though, which I don't eat. Tonight we're going to my company holiday dinner. Tomorrow we're going to Bethlehem PA, to go to the Christmas Market there. So, it's definitely a busier weekend than normal for us.
It's pretty crazy that Christmas is three weeks from today, and that the end of the year is less than a month away!! But, as I hate the cold/winter, I want the next three months to fly by. Although, we've had unseasonably warm weather most of November and December so far, so I'm nto complaining yet. I just know it's inevitably coming. I'm very excited for Christmas though! I only get off for Christmas and New Year's Day, but it'll be nice to have two three day weekends in a row. My sister will be home for about a week too, and I haven't seen her since the beginning of August. I'm also excited to give and get gifts! I just have to buy a couple more gifts, and definitely have to make more Christmas cookies. I'll be making some today.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my other new Bernie Dexter dress. I think this shade of blue is simply gorgeous! The rose print is also gorgeous, of course. I hadn't seriously thought about buying this dress before I just bought it. I knew I had to have the paint palette dress, and since there was such a good deal going on on all Bernie dresses, I of course kept scouring the website. This dress caught my eye, and I hemmed and hawed a bit, but then decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did!

Hello there! I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday! I'm even more excited to have a four day weekend next week! It's very much needed. I'm looking forward to Black Friday (online) sales and decorating the apartment for Christmas. Tomorrow night I'm meeting up with my friend for a drink, and Saturday night Bob & I are going to my parent's house for dinner, and his parents are coming, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my brand new Heart of Haute harlequin print dress, which I received today. I had been waiting months for it to become available. Harlequin is my very favorite print, and it's not that easy to find. All my harlequin pieces are from Heart of Haute or Pin Up Girl Clothing. I love the colours in this dress! I wasn't sure if it would be this bright in person, but I'm so glad it is. It was a great mail day, because my Erstwilder Christmas brooches also came today, and there's a picture of them below. Can't wait to style them with my Christmastime outfits! I even have a gingerbread man skirt that'll pair perfectly with the gingerbreadman brooch!

Hello there! Bob and I are going to Brew Works this afternoon/evening for an early dinner & drinks. We'll also be going to the Moravian Book Store while we are in town. It's the oldest book store in the U.S.! They also have a lot of Christmas decorations there. We haven't been out to Bethlehem in about three or four months. When I was younger I used to have no interest in going to Pennsylvania. But, now the two towns we like to day trip to are in PA. There's also two other towns that my mom and I go to in PA a couple times a year, which I also really enjoy.
Next weekened Bob and I are going to a different town in PA, that we haven't been to together before, and he's never been there, period. I used to go with my parents when I was a lot younger. I probably haven't been in fifteen years. It's actually the "antiques capital of the U.S.", Adamstown, PA. I'm very excited to go! When my parents took me and my sister when we were younger, we hated it, it was so boring to us. But, now that I have a real appreciation for antiques (specifically 1950's), I think it'll be a great time for us. It's under two hours away too, which isn't bad. My parents go there at least a couple of times a year. There's just SO much shopping there that they stay overnight there often. There's also three breweries/brew pubs there, which Bob is interested to try.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Oblong Box Shop Moais in Space skirt and lime green Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant top. I just love the colour lime green so much, and don't have enough of it in my wardrobe. Originally when I saw this top hit the PUG site, I didn't order it because the colour looked duller on screen. But, once I saw some bloggers posting pictures of themselves wearing it, it looked a lot brighter on them, so I made the plunge. I'm so glad I did, because it is the perfect shade of bright lime. I don't have too many skirts yet that match it, but I do have a few, including this one.

Hello there! Last night Bob and I stayed in, and watched "Wedding Crashers". He also helped me start to sew! Well, I just sewed on a piece of paper ha, but it's a little bit of progress. He had bought me a book on how to sew a few months ago, and was encouraging me to read it. He knows how much I'll love to sew once I learn it, because there are so many cute fabrics out there, that I'd love to use! I really wish I would've just had my mom shown me years ago. Oh well, better late than never. But, for me when I read the book it goes over my head. I have to actually be at the machine doing things, than reading it in a book and then applying it. If I have any issues while I'm at the machine, I can always reference the book then. I'm very excited though. I hope it won't be too hard in the beginning. I've already picked out a pattern for skirts and two fabrics. The pattern looks pretty simple, and hopefully it is. Bob is very good at learning new tasks, so I'm happy he wants to help me. I am not as adept with new tasks ha, that is for sure.
Today's going to be pretty quiet. I'm going to read more of "The Martian" work out, and sew a little more (on fabric this time!). Other than that, I mostly will just will be relaxing.
As much as I don't want winter to come at all, I'm excited to shop for new decorations! Target always has some cute things for Christmas. They already have a tiny bit of decorations in the store by me, but nothing I have to have. Kohl's has more out, but I didn't see anything I really liked.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Tatyana nesting dolls dress.

Hello there! I am so very happy that it's the weekend! I don't have many plans for today yet, other than working out, cleaning, doing laundry, and take outside outfit pics. Bob's going to cut my hair this weekend, and I am excited for that. He has never cut my hair before, but he cuts his own, and does a good job. I trust him. I just hate going to the salon, and always put it off, but I desperately need a hair cut now.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my latest Bernie Dexter dress. I scored this one on eBay, and for half the price of a normal Bernie. The leaf print obviously makes it very well suited for wearing it in fall, but...I may be wearing it in other seasons too, ha. I really don't like to pay full price for a Bernie dress, so I scour eBay for her items. Luckily, she often lists dress for about half off in her own eBay shop. This dress isn't as bright as most of my clothing, but that's okay. The shape of the dress and the cute print more than make up for it. Also, wearing my bright blue cropped cardigan with it brightens it up a bit. I just need to get a brooch that matches! My necklace kind of looks like leaves though, so that pairs quite nicely with the outfit.

Cropped Cardigan: eBay (Old Navy)

Hello there! Tonight I met my good friend at Panera for dinner. I hadn't been there in a little while. It was definitely good to go back, and have broccoli cheddar soup again, ha. Saturday I'll be going out to Pennsylvania with my mom, to go shopping for Easter decorations. The one shop we go to is so neat; they hand make everything, in antique style, as well. My mom has a lot of stuff from them, and I have a few items from them, for Christmas, Halloween & Easter. They take their wares to antique toy shows, which is how my mom met them. When I get home from that, Bob & I are headed to his parent's house to celebrate his dad's 60th birthday.
Only one week from today we'll be on our way to Vegas! I am extremly excited now that it's so close! It's hard to get it out of my head, ha. Bob doesn't express his excitement the way I do, but I know he is really looking forward to it. I know what clothing I'll be bringing, but I'm not going to pack most of it until right before we leave, because I don't want it to get any more wrinkled than it has to.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Hell Bunny gingham print dress. I also have this dress in yellow and white gingham. I don't really have any other plaid in my wardrobe.

Hello there! It was nice to only work one day this week! I worked yesterday. Today it's actually snowing, but pretty lightly. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 61 degrees! That's Jersey for you. I'm quite excited for it to be warm tomorrow. I will have to take outside pictures again.
Today I'm not doing that much. I cleaned the apartment, worked out, and am doing laundry. I'm going to read and just relax. Bob has to salt some businesses's parking lots. (In the winter Bob and his dad plow and salt parking lots and driveways, and his dad also does it for a highway.) Once he gets home from that, we're going to watch more of "The Newsroom" season 2. I got it for him for Christmas, and we started watching last night. I like it, but he's more into it than I am.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter dress that Bob got me for Christmas. I had admired the Bernie dress with this print, but couldn't find it in my size anywhere and/or couldn't find it on sale. The skirt was a compromise. I just love the beautiful print on it! Cherry blossom trees are just so pretty. And I really adore tulips. They are one of my fav flowers. This is pretty much the perfect springtime skirt.

Hello there! Yesterday felt a lot like Sunday to Bob and I, so I am very glad even though this weekend is going extremly fast, we still have today off. I made more Christmas cookie dough and wrote most of the Christmas cards. I also bought a couple more presents yesterday. Our tree is up and decorated! And the all my Christmas decorations are out. Love how the apartment looks when it's decorated for Christmas. It's a Christmas Candyland.
I've been trying to restrain myself with the Black Friday-Cyber Monday deals! So far I've only bought two dresses from Heart of Haute. Well, I did also get two skirts from Modcloth a few days ago, and they were half off as part of the pre Black Friday sale. If I hadn't already bought a lot in November, I would've bought more this weekend. I had been eyeing a Pin Up Girl Clothing dress for awhile, but I held back. Their 30% off sale was only on Friday. I've also been holding back on buying a Trashy Diva dress...but their sale is still going on ha, so I could still order it.
Oh yea, I also bought a couple decorations. I bought an ice cream cone ornament, and a wood die cut ice cream cone to hang on the wall in our kitchen. I got them from a shop I just discovered! Well, someone on Instagram told me I should check out the shop, and they were right! The link is: http://everydayisaholiday.bigcartel.com. They have the cutest things! It's almost all food items, with a emphasis on baking/sweets, so of course that is right up my alley. I'm eyeing other items on the site, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my beloved Hell Bunny Flamingo dress. I don't care that it's a "tropical/summery" dress, I want to wear it year-round.

Cropped cardigan: Poshmark (Old Navy)
