Hello there! Well, I went back to work today after being off the last week. It sure went fast, naturally. I had some plans, but not a lot, which is just the way I like it over a break. I saw my family, Bob's family, some friends, ran errands, and went to the dentist. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I really do NOT like going to the dentist's, even just for a cleaning. I don't like the sounds, and keeping my mouth open for so long, and even getting a cleaning hurts a bit at times, depending on how hard the hygienist scrapes.
Monday I went antiquing with my mom in Adamstown, and I got a couple of small items, including a bright enamel flower brooch that I love! It was only $7, and the petals are bright orange and yellow. It's in good condition too; it's hard to find those enamel flower brooches in perfect condition, as the enamel starts to chip over time.
Tomorow night Bob and I are going out for a couple of drinks to a nearby brew pub, and then on Saturday night we're going out to eat with his family for his dad's birthday. Bob's birthday is in two weeks, and I have NO idea what to get him, as usual! It'll probably end up being a gift card, as per usual, ha.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth fruity dress that I got a couple of years or so ago. It's made of very light material, so I don't wear it the late fall through winter at all. Isn't such a fun, colorful print, and I love to wear it! I tried victory rolls again; as you can see in the first picture. I have this roller tool that I use, and it definitely does help, but I still need more practice!

Gone To The Dogs
Hello there! Well, spring is TOMORROW, as per the calendar....but, not so much feeling like it here in NJ. We are supposed to be getting hit with a big snowstorm on Wednesday, and if so, I won't be having work that day. I just can not wait until it actually looks and feels like spring here! It's been a crazy long, painful winter. I have cold fatigue and snow fatigue, big time. I'd love to start seeing flowers blooming, too!
Tomorrow I have an out of office meeting I'm going to, which my mom is also going to, so we're carpooling. So, depending on the weather, I may not be back in the office until Thursday.
I had quite a full weekend. Friday night Bob and I went went to my grandmother's for pizza, and my dad met us there. Later on that night I went to my friend's apartment to visit. Saturday night Bob's friend and his wife and their son came over for dinner. The baby is six months old, and the cutest thing!! We hadn't seen him since he was a month and a half. Sunday I met my friend for lunch at Cheesecake Factory. My chicken salad sandwich was quite good, and it had big pieces of tomato, mmm! The friend I was with is the one whose going to Charleston with me in three and a half weeks. She's driving us down there, and I'm very lucky/grateful she offered to do that. I don't like driving in places I'm not familiar with, so I wouldn't drive there myself, and the plane ticket was crazy expensive.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm meeting a friend at Panera, and Wednesday I was planning on going to the board meeting, but won't be going if we have a snow day that day. Saturday is my sister's bridal shower, so I'll be getting ready for that Friday evening and all day Saturday.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Retrospec'd poodle print dresses (I have two).
While poodles are definitely not one of my favorite dog breeds, the print is super cute! The shoes I'm wearing are BAIT (of course), and I just got them from Modcloth. I hadn't ordered from Modcloth in forever, but I got a coupon code for the site, and they ended up being cheaper to get them from Modcloth than BAITs own site.

March Madness
Hello there! Well, it's officially March, and I'm glad about that, but we've been getting slammed with snow & nasty weather, with a huge snowstorm coming our way tomorrow night through Wednesday night! The storm that we got this past Friday had crazy high winds; they were so bad, I had a lot of trouble walking from work to my car in the parking lot. The heavy, wet snow combined with the winds caused many trees to come down, and tons of power outages.
My parents still don't have power, and neither does the school my mom works at. Luckily, Bob and I never lost power, and neither did the school I work at. Bob's dad hasn't had power since Friday though, like my parents.
We are supposed to get 10-14" of heavy, wet snow with this upcoming storm... which is sure to cause MORE power outages, and hopefully we don't lose power, or it's going to be very boring for me, since I won't have work, either. If it's bad enough, I won't have work Thursday also, but I'm hoping I get to go back Thursday. In like a lion, out like a lamb??
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth sock hop skirt that I got from eBay about three years ago. I love the adorable print, and I love pairing my Erstwilder jukebox brooch with this skirt; I think they're perfect together. Vivien of Holloway is releasing new print in a couple of weeks, and I've got my eye on their new record print. I only own one item of theirs so far. I have some money left in my Paypal account, and hopefully I still will by the time the dress is released.

Eat Your Veggies
Hello there! Well yesterday I ended up being busier than I thought I'd be; in addition to all of the cleaning, laundry, working out, errands, etc. that I knew I'd be doing, I also ended up going groery shopping with Bob, baking cookies, and going to my grandparents' house to visit; my aunt from Texas is up for a couple of days and was over their house helping, because my grandmother just had foot surgery.
Today will be quieter for me, although Bob just left to go to his dad's house to work on the salter that broke, and then Bob will be salting and plowing tonight and tomorrow morning. Long weekends are fabulous, but it's always extra rough to go back to work after one, not that I'm thinking about that now.
Once I go back to work, the next thing I'll have to look forward to is a week and a half off for spring break, starting March 30th, and the week I come back to work after break, I only work Monday-Wednesday, and then I'm going to Charleston Thursday-Sunday. Time will start to move faster once March is here, as I have a lot of plans March-May.
Next Saturday Bob and I are going to an antique show about fifteen minutes away, and then going out to eat nearby the show. We are also thinking about going to a tiki themed night at a dance hall in Pennsylvania, where they'll be surf bands playing. It sounds like fun,and I do love a tiki theme! But, I'm not sure yet if Bob really wants to go.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Modcloth veggie print dress that I got a couple of years ago. It's a bit shorter than most of my dresses, but I still love the print and the style of it. I haven't ordered from Modcloth in quite awhile now; they really shifted their aesthetic, and it no longer is aligned with my own.

What A Cupcake!
Hello there! Today I'll be with my mom and sister, looking at some wedding venues. They're going to a few all over the area, but I'm not going to all of them. I'll also be visiting Bob's family this afternoon. I'm also doing some laundry and cleaning. Tomorrow is my grandmother's 90th birthday party, and it's at my parent's house. It won't be big; they'll just be a few of us there. My other grandparents will be there, my sister, and a couple of my dad's cousins.
Last night I went out with some friends from a former job, to celebrate on of my friend's birthday, and the news that he got a new job. He had still been at that place since I left a year and a half ago, and someone else in our group still is there. I'm very happy for him for moving on and moving up. It's always somewhat scary to leave somewhere you've gotten used to, no matter how toxic the environment.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Unique Vintage cupcake skirt that I got a year ago, and have posted about before. It was an ordeal trying to get this skirt; there were a lot of shipping delays, and then errors on their part as far as my payment. It was strange and annoying, and I try to avoid ordering from them. They also use Fed-Ex for shipping, which takes a week to come to me. Anyway, I do love this super cute, sweet skirt. The bright shade of blue in the skirt matches my PUG Sabrina blue top really well. This is my favorite shade of blue, by the way.

Pastel Rainbow (Again!)
Hello there! I haven't had much going on this week, as of yet. Saturday Bob and I are planning on going out to Lancaster, PA for Retro Fest; a rockabilly festival. It's a weekend long event, but we are just going Saturday, and not staying over night. It's a little over two hours from us. It's the second year of the festival, and will be our first time attending.
I'm excited to check it out! It obviously won't be nearly as big as Viva or the Boogie, but there are going to be a decent amount of vendors there, which is great. I know there will be at least a few vendors with vintage clothing and antiques too, and I'm especially excited for those vendords. Lancaster is right by Adamstown, which is where I went antiquing last Saturday.
I jus discovered the other day that there were a few new episodes of "Shameless" available on Netflix. Bob and I have one more to watch tonight, and then we're all caught up. Ugh, it's still such a GREAT show!! I'm never disappointed by it.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Modcloth rainbow striped skirts (I also have one in bolder shades). Doesn't this skirt's colors and stripes look so much like the vintage rainbow dress I blogged about in my last post?? Never enough rainbow for this lady, though!
I paired my new Luxulite ice cream brooch with this outfit. I don't wear too many pastels, as I clearly lean towards brighter shades of color, but I still do love a good pastel outfit.

Candy Shop
Hello there! One week from today Bob and I will be heading to Nashville! I'm sooo excited.
I love exploring cities I've never been to before. My sister lives there, but she'll be in Europe with her fiance while we are in Nashville. She just got engaged last Friday! We'll be staying at their apartment for two nights while we are in Nashville, which'll be nice, since we'll save some money that way. She's also letting us use her car, so we'll also save money that way, although obviously when we go to bars we'll use an Uber.
I'll be seeing my friend Sara (of the blog http://www.inanutshellblog.com/) and her boyfriend while we're there, so that just adds to my excitement! They are also coming there for the Boogie. I haven't seen her in a year, since Viva Las Vegas last year. I met her IRL about a year and a half ago, at the New England Shake Up (it's held in Massachusetts).
We had been online friends, thanks to our blogs and Instagram.
I have more plans than normal the next few days. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for a drink after work, Friday Bob and I are going to a friend's house, Sunday we'll be seeing my grandmother, and if my parents get home early enough (they've been on vacation), I'll be seeing them too, Monday Bob and I are meeting with an architect (about building a house), and Tuesday night I'm going to a board meeting at work. I'll be busier than I'd like to be, that's for sure.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Unique Vintage candy shop skirt. I scored it during a sale they had, where certain skirts were $40, and then I used a $5 coupon, so I got the skirt for $35! I had adored this print since it came out a few months ago. It came out at the same time that the gumball skirt did, which I just got for $25 at Viva. There's so many colors in this skirt, so it's super easy to pair shirts, shoes, and jewelry with it. I think next time I'll wear my mint Sabrina top with the skirt, instead of the white one I'm wearing here. I also couldn't resist pairing the skirt with my Modcloth cupcake sandals! These sandals are too cute. They're really comfortable, too.

Retrospec'd Pagoda Sun Dress
Hello there! Yesterday I saw some family in the afternoon, and for dinner Bob and I went to my parent's house. My mom had this super cute antique Easter sign, and I told her how much I loved it, and she gave it to me! I posted a picture below. The graphics are soooo darn cute! I'm so glad she gave it to me. She said she's never seen it for sale anywhere after she bought it. My mom has an excellent holiday antique collection (Halloween, Christmas, & Easter), and she's given me a few of her pieces so far.
Today I'm not doing much. I'll be packing a little more today (only 3 more days!!!), and working out and reading. I may run to an antique store, but I've been putting off going there, since I have two vacations coming up, and I don't want to spend more money, ha. There's one booth in particular there that I love, and would probably have at least one item I want.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Retrospec'd dress that I purchased from A Classic Paradise. I had seen this print on a different Retrospec'd style dress awhile ago, and loved it, but never ended up buying the dress, and eventually it sold out. They just recently released the print in this sun dress style, and I didn't want to miss out again, so I went for it. I love the beautiful Asian pagoda and mountain print. There are a lot of Asian prints that I love. I have a few gorgeous Trashy Diva Asian prints, but I think this is my only non-TD Asian print.
I ordered my normal Retrospec'd size in this dress, and I'd say it runs pretty true to size; it fits my bust, but is big on my waist. The only weird thing with this dress is that the straps are very short. The straps are adjustable, but even wearing them as long as possible, they are still short. If they were any shorter, I don't think I could get the dress on. It may have just been a fluke on my particular dress. I have one other dress in ths style, and the straps are definitely longer.

Vivian
Hello there! Yesterday I spent the day at home, cleaning, doing laundry, working out, and what not, and then at night Bob and I went out to a bar in town, and his brother met us there. My friend ended up not being able to make it. Today we're just staying in.
I had a couple pumpkin martinis last night, and they were sooo good! The best ones I've ever had. We had never been to this bar before. It was decent; it was quiet, but not empty, which is what I like when I go out. I can't stand when it's too loud and crowded.
I don't have much going on in this upcoming week, but I am meeting a friend on Thursday after work, for a drink.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Retrospec'd poodle dresses (I have two of them), and I've posted about it before. This dress style is called Vivian, and it fits me better than my other Retrospec'd poodle dress style; that one is called Betty. The Betty one is super tight on my chest, and this one is much more comfortable all over. They're both the same size, too. I wear this one to work a lot. I love the shade of blue in the dress. My shoes don't match exactly, but it's close enough for me.

Rainbow Brite
Hello there! We had a two hour delay at work today (I work in a school) due to freezing rain, which was quite nice. It's the second one that's happened since I started there. I've yet to had a snow day though. Maybe that'll happen in February, since that's when we get the most snow usually.
I don't have too much going on this week, except I'm meeting a friend on Saturday at Panera, and another friend may be coming, too.
I received the rainbow skirt I'm wearing in the below pictures in the mail yesterday, from Modcloth. I wore it to work today. I LOVE it! It's my second rainbow stripe Modcloth skirt; they released this skirt in a pastel rainbow striped version last year. They're both quite comfy; they have a bit of elastic in the back of the waistband. This bright rainbow version runs a little bigger in the waist than my pastel one.
Modcloth hasn't been coming out with much I like at all in the past year or so. But, this time last year they did release a couple of items I loved, like the pastel rainbow skirt, and a rainbow dress. I occassionally buy BAIT Footwear shoes from them, too.
In the pictures I'm wearing Bakelite bangles I bought from the Etsy shop Brighter Bakelite. They're my favorite shop for Bakelite. They release new items in the shop every Monday & Thursday, so I always check them out on those days, and I just found out today that they're vending at Viva!! I can't wait to check out their booth.
I got a lot of comments from staff where I work today, about how brightly I was dressed.
I guess some of them don't notice I dress quite bright every day! I wish they'd all just get used to already. It's really hard being as shy as I am, and dressing the way I do, since it attracts so many looks and attention; things I don't want.

~Bye bye for now!

Sock Hop
Hello there! I worked on Tuesday until 1:30 p.m., and won't go back to work until Tuesday, the 3rd. Yesterday I mostly stayed home, but I did run out to a couple of shops. I went to an antique store I had never been to before, about 25 minutes away, and they had some cute Christmas items, and Pyrex, but nothing I had to have. I also checked out a Salvation Army in my town, to see if they had any good antiques, but there was nothing decent there.
I could've bought a piece of Pyrex or two in the antique store, but I was okay with not doing that, because tomorrow I'll be doing tons of antiquing with my mom. We're going to three towns that are next to each other in Pennsylvania. I haven't been to two of the towns before.
We're meeting early in the morning, and will be gone all day, probably until the early evening.
My dad gave me some money for Christmas to use to go anitquing, so that'll help, but I have a feeling I may have to use some of my own money too, ha. Well, I did get money from some other relatives for Christmas too, so I could use part or all of that, as well.
Even though Christmas items are my favorite antiques to collect, I also want to get more general non-seasonal antiques to display year round. Once I have a house though, I will display at least part of my antique Christmas collection year round, in a holiday themed room (I'll also display some of my Halloween and Easter items there).
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Pinup Girl Clothing Sabrina top, and a Bea & Dot skirt that was sold at Modcloth, but I found on eBay after it sold out on Modcloth's site. I've had the skirt for about a year and a half, and I really love the 50's record and dancing print.
It looks like a sock hop is happening. I would've loved to grow up in that time period.
If I could just take the clothing style, music, houses, cars, etc. and combine it with the advancements we have now in 2016, that would be my utopia.
I have five Sabrina tops, and I really love them. They are perfect for work too, because of the high neck on them. They're comfortable, as well.

Wet Wednesday
Hello there! Well, we're having a very rainy, gloomy couple of days here; although it has warmed up a bit. I haven't had too much going on this week, but Saturday Bob and I are going to an antique Christmas show, about a half hour from us. We haven't been to this one before. I hope it's decent! We'll also be going over his parent's house at night, for his mom's birthday.
It's December tomorrow! That means it's 3.5 weeks until Christmas. I have more Christmas shopping to do, and baking, and all my wrapping. My mom is in Austria right now, and was in Germany before that, and I can't wait to see what she found for me there! She's been emailing me daily, and she told me she found some things today. Germany and Austria have such amazing craftmanship there.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Anette French Quarter dress that I got from Poshmark about a year ago. The dress was a couple sizes big for me, but I had my mom take in the waist, and now, with her taking it in, and with me using a belt, it's a much better fit. It's so lovely to own a New Orleans print, since I love New Orleans so, and the French Quarter is my favorite area of NOLA. My new orangeish/redish cardi matches the dress so well; I got it from Modcloth during the pre Black Friday sale. I didn't know if I'd ever be able to find this dress, since it hasn't been made in years, and it almost never gets listed for sale anywhere, because for a lot of ladies, it's a favorite print.
