Hello there! Ugh, it's been getting colder here this week, and today we had a fire drill, so I was outside with bare legs for a few minutes. I refuse to wear stockings, because I hate how they feel. So, the winter is pretty rough for me, since I won't wear pants!
Friday night Bob and I will be going to my work Christmas party at my bosses' house, and am looking forward to it. I think having the party at a house is much more comfortable than going to a restaurant, where it can be hard to hear people, amongst other annoyances.
I don't have other weekend plans, and Bob will probably be plowing and/or salting on Saturday, unfortunately. It's always a bummer for us when snowfall and/or ice occurs on weekends, and Bob definitely gets frustrated by it.
We're getting towards the end of this work week, and then next week I have a 4.5 day work week, and then it's my Christmas break! I haven't had a break like this since college ha, so I'm really looking forward to it.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest The Oblong Box Shop skirt. It was released in the beginning of December, and I ordered it immediately. It features ceramic Christmas tree along the bottom of the front of the skirt; how could I not order it?! Ceramic Christmas trees are some of my favorite Christmas decorations, and I have two so far. I couldn't resist taking a picture holding my green ceramic tree. I love the bright retro ornaments on the skirt, too!
Denialle, the owner of The Oblong Box Shop is also an amazing artist and designer, and designs these skirts herself! I paired this outfit with my Erstwilder Christmas treee brooch that I got last year, and amazing pink and silver starburst Splendette bangle set that I got from Pinup Girl Clothing recently, and wear a lot.

Bright Blue Peasant
Hello there! Oy my gosh, the weather today was pure perfection! It was 75 and so sunny, and that to me, is my absolute favorite weather. After having so much gloomy weather lately, this was a nice relief. It's supposed to be the same tomorrow, and I'm meeting my friends after work at a restaurant/bar, and hopefully the outdoor bar is open, so we can check it out! When it's nice out like this, I take advantage of eating/drinking outside as much as possible. Have to take advantage of it while it's here! When I left work today, my steering wheel was actually hot to the touch, which hasn't happened since probably the beginning of September. Bring on summer!
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my new Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant tops. I received two today, this one and a yellow one. I now own six. They are a great, flattering top. I love the fit of them. They zip in the back, so it creates a more form fitting shape. This is my absolute favorite shade of blue, and when PUG first showed a preview of it, I was thinking it would probably pair perfectly with my Oblong Box Shop furniture skirt, and luckily it really does!

Viva Las Vegas, Part I
Hello there! Well, we are back from Vegas, back to the real world. We had a blast! We got to do a lot; we did just about everything I had wanted to do. We spent more time at Viva this year than last year, which was great. It would be even better to actually stay at the Orleans hotel during Viva, because otherwise it's a lot of traveling to and from the Orleans, which obviously takes time and money.
I got to spend time with three of my lady friends I had met previusly, which was very nice, as I only see them at events like this. Bob and I got to our hotel on Wednesday night, around 9:30 p.m. We changed and got ready to go out for the evening. We had some drinks in our hotel and a hotel next door, New York, New York. I wanted to go to Nine Fine Irishmen; we've been there before, and I really like it there. I love Irish pubs in general. There was a band playing, and a river dancer, and both were great. Bob wanted to gamble for a bit though, so I went into that bar by myself, and he joined me later. I'm not really interested in gambling. We stayed out until around 2:00 a.m. Vegas time, which was 5:00 a.m. NJ time! So, I had been up for 24 hours. I only got five hours of sleep that first night in Vegas too, but surprisingly wasn't tired on Thursday.
Thursday was the first day of Viva. We had an early dinner at a restaurant at the Tropicana, and got to sit outside, which was nice. The weather was perfect. We headed over to Viva after that, in the late afternoon, picked up our wristbands, listened to some live rockabilly music and then went into the vendor rooms. They opened at 5:00 p.m., and were insanely crowded with shoppers!! It wasn't any fun; you had to constantly bump into people to try and walk anywhere/look at anything, and it was also very hot, which made it even more annoying to try things on. I did meet a lovely, sweet lady who I follow on Instagram though! Her name is Dezzy, and she recognized me, and her boyfriend took a picture of us. I ran into her another day, as well.
I didn't end up buying anything that night. I tried on a dress I ended up going back for the next morning, and luckily they still had my size! The dress has a fruit print, is made by an Aussie brand called Retrospec'd, and I am in loveeee with it. I wore it a lot during the trip, including to the car show on Saturday (the biggest day at Viva).
After we checked out the vendor rooms, we went back to our hotel and got ready to go out to Frankie's Tiki Room. We met my friend there, Lisa (who I met at Viva last year), and her friend from home, Hannah, who Bob and I met for the first time. Frankie's was fun, and all three drinks I had there were soooo yummy. I can be quite picky when it comes to food and alcohol, and definitely don't like all rum drinks (the sweeter, the better). We were at Frankie's for a few hours (we got there early in the evening), and then went back to our hotel. I definitely got more sleep Thursday night, which was great. I experiened Golden Tiki for the first time Friday night, and I can now say Frankie's is my very favorite tiki bar I've been to anywhere. It feels like a dive bar inside, which I love, but has amazing drinks and kitschy decor. Perfection!
The pictures below are from Wednesday night - Thursday night. I'll write more about Viva/Vegas in my next blog post!

Furniture Skirt
Hello there! Today I'm not doing much. Bob is finishing up working on my car. He has to do it as his parent's house, since living in an apartment complex, it's hard to do work on a car here, plus his dad has the tools he needs to use. As much as I don't want Monday to roll around, at least it'll be bringing me that much closer to Viva. I wish this week would just fly by! The following week I'm working Monday, Tuesday, and a half day on Wednesday. Our flight leave at 6:00 p.m.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my other new Oblong Box Shop skirt. This one has a 50's furniture print on it. I'm a huge fan of 50's home decor, as well as 50's clothing, and also 50's cars! The print on this skirt is great, and so are the colors. It's so hard to find clothing with much orange in them. I love that the shops I buy from keeping up out with adorable new novelty prints!

Tiki Time
Hello there! Tonight I'm going out to eat with Bob and his family for Bob's dad's birthday, and then going to their house after for cake. I don't really have other plans for this weekend.
It's offically a week and a half until we leave for Vegas! Super close now!
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my new The Oblong Box Shop skirts. I received two this week. I had been very impatiently awaiting their arrival on the website, and had been signed up to receive any alert of when they'd become available. I receiving an email last Friday night that they had had the site, and I instantly pounced on them! I now have four TOBS skirts, and I really love them all. The owner of the shop designs them herself, and she creates the cutest, most unique prints!! I'm always eager to see what she designs next, and I can't wait to visit her at her booth at Viva! My mint peasant top arrived yesterday from Pin Up Girl Clothing, and I had to pair the top with this skirt. I'm happy they match so well. I ordered the top specifically to wear with this skirt. I think the top will match a couple of my other skirts, too. I think I'll be wearing this outfit to Frankie's Tiki Room the Thursday night we're in Vegas. It'll be perfect to wear there not just because of the print on the skirt, but becausethe woman behind The Oblong Box Shop will be there!

Puffer Fish
Hello there! The weather yesterday was amazing. When Bob and I left around 3:00 to run errands, I didn't even need a coat! I took some outside outfit pictures, sans coat. It actually hit 60 degrees, which definitely gave me spring fever.
We're just staying at home today. I'm going to watch "Black Mass". I can't believe how different, and bad Johnny Depp looks in his role. I'm watching "Downton Abbey" tonight too, just like every week. I can't believe it's the last season! I hate how most of my favorite shows have ended in the past couple of years (like "Breaking Bad" and "Boardwalk Empire"). This season's good, but seems to have had less twists & turns than usual. Maybe they're saving the up for the end! Bob really likes the show, too.
We've been talking about where we're going on vacation this summer. We aren't going to a beach location for a week, like we've been doing almost every summer (Virginia Beach, Myrtle Beac, etc). We are going on a road trip! The only two spots that are a must for me are: Nashville and Charleston. I've never been to either city, and Bob hasn't either. My sister lives in Nashville, so we'll be visiting her there, too. Bob also wants to stay one night on the way out and one night on the way back, at two different cities. So, we may stay in Baltimore, and Richmond, or maybe not; he's going to look into it. I'm really excited to see Nashville and Charleston, though. I've heard such great things about both places.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Oblong Box Shop puffer fish skirt. I'm so excited for them to release their new novelty print skirts! There's one with an orange background that I love (they posted some Instagram pictures of it). It's so hard to find dresses or skirts with much orange in them, and this one has a lot! Right now I just have two skirts from them. I'm also looking forward to seeing their booth at Viva in less than two months! I'm wearing my new rainbow rose hair piece in the pictures below. I really love this one; it's definitely my favorite hair piece I own.

Moais in Space & Lime
Hello there! Bob and I are going to Brew Works this afternoon/evening for an early dinner & drinks. We'll also be going to the Moravian Book Store while we are in town. It's the oldest book store in the U.S.! They also have a lot of Christmas decorations there. We haven't been out to Bethlehem in about three or four months. When I was younger I used to have no interest in going to Pennsylvania. But, now the two towns we like to day trip to are in PA. There's also two other towns that my mom and I go to in PA a couple times a year, which I also really enjoy.
Next weekened Bob and I are going to a different town in PA, that we haven't been to together before, and he's never been there, period. I used to go with my parents when I was a lot younger. I probably haven't been in fifteen years. It's actually the "antiques capital of the U.S.", Adamstown, PA. I'm very excited to go! When my parents took me and my sister when we were younger, we hated it, it was so boring to us. But, now that I have a real appreciation for antiques (specifically 1950's), I think it'll be a great time for us. It's under two hours away too, which isn't bad. My parents go there at least a couple of times a year. There's just SO much shopping there that they stay overnight there often. There's also three breweries/brew pubs there, which Bob is interested to try.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Oblong Box Shop Moais in Space skirt and lime green Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant top. I just love the colour lime green so much, and don't have enough of it in my wardrobe. Originally when I saw this top hit the PUG site, I didn't order it because the colour looked duller on screen. But, once I saw some bloggers posting pictures of themselves wearing it, it looked a lot brighter on them, so I made the plunge. I'm so glad I did, because it is the perfect shade of bright lime. I don't have too many skirts yet that match it, but I do have a few, including this one.

Nesting Dolls Skirt
Hello there! Last night Bob and I visited my grandmother, and then we went home and just relaxed- watched Dateline and had drinks. Oh, and I baked chocolate oatmeal cookies for the baby shower today. While I'm at my parent's house for the shower, Bob will be at his parent's house for his brother's birthday. They're having a BBQ. One of my favourite things about the spring/summer is being able to eat and drink outdoors.
After I get back from the shower, I'm going to clean the apartment, do laundry, and work out. I much prefer to do those things in the morning/early afternoon, to get them over with, and it's when I'm more motivated, but obviously I can't do that today. I don't have any plans for tonight yet. Bob will probably be at the BBQ until late.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute nesting dolls skirt. I have this print in a dress too, because I love it so much. And since there are so many colours in it, it matches so many of my shoes and accessories. I like having so many options with an outfit.
