Carnival Time

Hello there! In spite of not having a lot of plans for my week and a half off, I still knew it'd go fast, and of course, it has been. I ran some errands today and yesterday, and tomorrow am supposed to go antiquing all day in Pennsylvania with my mom, but that depends on if it snows. It is supposed to, but as of now, isn't supposed to rally accumulate. She said that if we can't end up going tomorrow, we can go on Sunday instead. So, either way, I'll get there over the weekend, and I can't wait! One of towns we're going antiquing in I've never been to before, so I'm looking forward to checking it out for the first time.
Tonight I'm going out to eat to Friendly's with Bob, and then out for drinks somewhere local. We haven't gotten out, just the two of us, for dinner and/or drinks in a couple of months, so I'm really looking forward to it. Earlier today I cleaned, worked out, & did laundry. I've also gotten to do a lot of reading, and watched some movies over my break, so that's been nice. I've been watching the TCM channel lately (Turner Classic Movies), which my mom has been watching forever. I especially like watching musicals from the 40's & 50's, and watching Jimmy Stewart.
It's kind of crazy that 2018 begins in just a couple of days now! It should be a great year, since we'll be building our house, and should definitely be in it before the end of 2018.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Annette dress in the Carnival print. This is my very favorite print that TD released last year, and one of my all time favorite TD prints. I wore this dress, as well as this print in the Trixie style constantly this summer. The skirt on both dresses is very full, which I love, but in these pictures I'm also wearing my petticoat.

Christmas Cocktails

Hello there! I had a great four day weekend, and hope you all did, too. It was the perfect mixture of doing fun things, seeing family, and getting to do plenty of relaxing at home, too. It certainly went by very fast, and now Christmas is four weeks from today!
I went to an antique show on Saturday with my mom. She asked me the night before, and I wasn't sure at first, since I've been doing a lot of antiquing lately and obviously spending money doing that, and the Oldwick show is this coming Saturday, too. But, I ended up going, and I'm glad I did! I had never been to this show before, and my mom hadn't been in many years. It was about forty minutes from where I live, and I met my mom halfway, and then we carpooled from there.
It was a decent size show, with a few good antique holiday vendors. I saw some vendors I have seen at other shows, and also some I've never seen before. I bought three things myself: a $10 fruit print tablecloth in great condition, a snowman blowmold for $15, and a plastic Santa on a reindeer, in the original box, and it still lights up! I really wanted this amazing, gorgeous, huge pastel tree topper, but didn't want to spend the money, and I also had seen two multi colored ornaments I really liked it. I showed them to my mom, and luckily she bought them for me for Christmas! I'm so glad she did, because if we left without that tree topper, I really would've been kicking myself.
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore on Saturday. I love breaking out my Christmas outfits! I wait all year to do this, ha. I really love this Heart of Haute cheery cocktail skirt that I got a year ago. Isn't this Erstwilder Christmas lights print too cute?!
I obviously love how bright it is! I got TONS of compliments on my outfit at the show, which is nice, but I'm trying concentrate on all the goodies I'm looking at, ha! I don't mind people telling me they love my outfit and what not, but I don't want to have to chat too long, and have them ask too many questions about my style!

Harlequin Heart

Hello there! This week is a fairly quiet one for me. I'm meeting a friend for lunch on Saturday. This past weekend was busier than usual for me, with a lot of family time. I saw my sister for the first time since Christmas. I went with her and my mom to look at a couple of wedding venues on Friday. Saturday Bob and I went to my parent's house for my grandmother's 90th birthday party. As long as my mind is okay and my health, I hope I make it that long! We do have really good genes/longevity on both sides of the family, so that's a great thing. I can't imagine how it feels though to have lived almost a whole century; what a lot of change, and hopefully progress you must see! Hopefully I see more progress in my lifetime than my grandmother has seen.
Trashy Diva launched a new collection today, but unfortunately, I don't care for the new print, so I won't be buying anything. TD is my favorite vintage repro brand, and I always am very excited for new launches! So, it was disappointing for me, but good for my wallet, ha.
The background color is olive green, which is not a color I like, and the print itself is of bicycles and mimes, with a lot of white in it. Oh well, hopefully I love the next launch!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute harlequin dress. I got this dress a couple of years or so ago, and still ADORE this print! Harlequin is one of my favorite prints, period, and I really love this bright color palette. My Splendette purple & teal bangles match the dress really well. I don't wear much purple at all, so I don't get to wear my Splendette purple bangles too often. I'm also wearing my Shoe Bakery ice cream flats in these pics. These were my first Shoe Bakery shoes, probably about three years ago. I have one other pair of SB flats currently. Their shoes are so darn cute!
Oh, and Bob cut my hair about a week ago, so, when curly, it's super short now! I'm so lucky I have an amazing man who cuts my hair and cooks for me!!

Haute Harlequin

Hello there! Well, tomorrow is SPRING!!! I'm so glad about that. It seemed to take so long to get here. Now, if only the weather would warm up considerably, that'd be terrific!
Yesterday I had a dental cleaning (ugh!), but was glad to hear I didn't have to come back for any work! That doesn't happen to me very often, and one big reason is because I grind my teeth when I sleep, and was damaging my existing fillings, and kept needing them fixed.
Last night Bob and I went out for a couple of drinks. The first couple places we tried to go to didn't pan out; one place had a packed bar, and one was closed already. So, we just went to Applebee's, even though I'm not a fan of that place. We originally were going to go to Bethlehem yesterday afternoon, but it was supposed to snow, so we didn't do that. Of course it ended up not accumulating at all; we only got flurries.
This coming week I have more plans than usual: Monday I'm meeting a friend for dinner after work, Friday I'm meeting up with a friend, and Saturday night Bob and I are going to his parents' house, and he'll be cooking us tacos there.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Heart of Haute harlequin dresses. Out of all my harlequin dresses, this color scheme is my favorite. I got the dress a couple of years or so ago. It's quite comfortable, too. I love these purple & teal Splendette bangles together.

Cherry On Top

Hello there! Well, I did end up getting a snow day today. It hasn't snowed much here yet, and initially we only had a delayed opening, but they ended up changing it, so I was very surprised when they changed it. We're supposed to get a lot of snow on Tuesday, so if that pans out, I'll be off that day, too. We had almost no snow all winter, and now that spring is a week and a half away, we're getting hit!
Today I'm cleaning and doing laundry, working out, reading, and just relaxing and watching TV. I usually clean and do laundry on Saturday morning, but I'm glad I'm getting to do it today, because tomorrow I'll be out in PA all day with my mom. I'm leaving my place around 7:30 a.m. to meet her. My mom and I are really looking forward to going out there. I'm excited to see what cute Easter items are for sale at Stamm House, and also to go to an antique mall. I decorated my place for Easter last weekend, and will display my new items I buy, too. I posted a picture below of a few of my Stamm House Easter items that I have. Aren't they too cute? The woman who makes these items make them from very old German molds. So, they are used with antique molds, but she paints them.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute cherry print dress that I got from Enz's at Viva Las Vegas two years ago. I love the background color of the dress, as well as the bright red cherry print. Speaking of Viva; we leave for it in a month! It seemed way too far away for so long, and now it's quite close. I just hope this coming month speeds up. I'm really looking forward to going away and relaxing. There's nothing I love more than going on vacation with Bob. We haven't been away for more than three days since July, and that feels forever ago, ha.

Drinks On Me

Hello there! Last night Bob and I stayed in, and watched TV and "Pee Wee's Big Adventure". He had never seen it before, surprisingly. My parents had it on VHS when I was growing up, and I saw it many times, but hadn't seen it in years. He liked it, as I expected. "Tell 'em large Marge sent ya!" Oh, such a silly movie. Did you know it was the first movie Tim Burton directed?
I'm staying home today, and doing super fun things like cleaning, working out, and laundry, ha! But, I'm glad to just be staying in today. Next Friday is a work Christmas party at my bosses' house, which I'm looking forward to. My husband hasn't met my boss or any co-workers yet. I've been there six months now. These six months really went fast!
But, that's what happens when you like your job!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Heart of Haute skirt I got during a Black Friday sale. It's not available on their site anymore, but I think it has been restocked on the Pinup Girl Clothing site. I love this fun Christmasy print. Too bad I can't wear it year round! Christmas prints are the cutest, but it stinks that I have such a limited time to wear them. I'm trying to get as much wear out of them as possible, wearing my Christmasy outfits to work and on weekends. I know I'll be wearing one to my parents' house tomorrow, where we'll be celebrating my dad's birthday.
In the last picture below is a snowman blow mold my mom saw at an antique shop she was in this week. She texted me a picture of it, and I immediately called her to ask about it. It was only $10! She picked it up for me, and I'll be getting it from her tomorrow. It'll be my first snowman blow mold.

The Stars At Night

Hello there! Wow, I can't believe fall starts tomorrow. I put out a few Halloween decorations last night, but I have a lot more to put out. It still definitely feels like summer here though, which for me is great! April-October are definitely my favorite months, and November-March I could do without that weather. The GREAT thing is though, that for the first time in my life, I work at a place I actually won't have to risk my life to get to in ice/snow, because I won't have to go in (I work at a school, in case anyone didn't know)!
This weekend I'll be seeing my family, but other than that, don't have much going on yet.  We don't have plans yet to look at any houses this weekend, but that may change if something pops up.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my trusty Heart of Haute dress. I got it about a year ago, and wear it a lot to work. It's a simple cotton dress, but I think it's flattering, and it's certainly comfortable. I like the pop of the neon pink bandeau agains the dress. I'm wearing my favorite hair flower piece in the first picture. It's so bright & fun! There's fruit pieces on it, too.

Heart Of Haute Harlequin

Hello there! I'm SO happy to have today through Sunday off of work! It's a much needed respite. I had to run an errand this morning, and I'll be meeting a couple of friends later today for a drink. Other than that, I'm taking it easy today/tonight; I'm going to work out, do some reading, and watch more of the new season of "Orange Is The New Black". I'm going to really try and savor this relaxating few days I'll have. I know it'll go by super quickly, as it always does.
Next weekend will also be a long weekend, since it's 4th of July weekend, already! Wow, that came up quickly.
Last night Bob and I went to my parent's to have pizza for dinner. My sister was there too, she's home from Nashville for a bit before she heads on vacation this Saturday with my mom and other extended family.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Heart of Haute harlequin print dresses; I have three from Heart of Haute. I love the mix of pastel and bright colors in this print. With my choice of shoes and accessories, I'm playing up the pastel side of the print. The straps on the dress are adjustable, which is great, as I needed to make them tighter.

Banned Skirt

Hello there! It's a beautiful, sunny day out, and Bob and I are leaving in the early afternoon to head to Bethlehem for an early dinner & drinks, and to go to the Moravian Bookstore. Other than that, I'll just be doing some cleaning and laundry, and relaxing at home. Tomorrow I'll be going to church with my mom and sister, and going to my grandparent's house for Easter.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Banned Apparel skirt that I bought from Viva Dulce Marina. Banned first started showing pictures of this skirt about two months ago, and I was very excited for its release. I love this fun 1950's drive-in/diner print, and the use of bright shades of orange, pink & blue in it. Not many skirts or dresses have much orange in them. Speaking of orange, Oblong Box Shop finally released their furniture skirt and tiki drink skirt last night, and I ordered both of them right away. The furniture skirt has an orange background. I like the tiki drink skirt even more though, and can't wait to receive them both. I'll definitetly have to bring the tiki drink skirt to Vegas!

Kitty Cats

Hello there! Today was a nice spring day, it started out coldish, but ended up around 65 degrees. I saw daffodils that have bloomed! That makes me heart happy. I can't wait until the tree in front of our apartment blooms with its pink blossoms; so gorgeous, however fleeting it is.
On Saturday Bob and I are heading to Bethlehem to go to lunch and have drinks, and go to the Moravian Bookstore (oldest bookstore in the U.S.). We're going to a restaurant we've never tried before, that Bob really wants to try. It's an Irish/British place. Bob loves trying new places/new food, me, not so much. Once I know what I love, I rarely deviate. But, I do compromise from time to time, ha. It's supposed to be about 60 and sunny Saturday too, so that's great.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute kitty shirtdress. I LOVE this dress. I wore it to work today, and my co-worker loved it, too. I wasn't sure how my new job would feel about my crazy wardrobe, so I've started it off slowly there, so as not to shock them too much, haha. Evidently, my bright colors and kooky prints don't bother them, as I've heard nothing negative. That makes me VERY happy! I would be devestated if I had to stifle myself. A vendor came in today, and he also complimented me on my outfit. It's nice when guys appreciate my outfits too; in a way it's more of a compliment, since they don't usually notice prints/bright colors, or if they do, they seem to be ambivalent towards them.

Stamm House Visit

Hello there! Yesterday I went out to Mifflinburg, PA with my mom to go shopping for holiday decorations/antiques. We go out there a couple of times a year. Our first stop is the Stamm House, where a woman sells holiday decorations that she handmakes from antique German molds. She's a great artist, and there's no one else out there like her that I've come across yet. My mom is a huge collector of holiday decorations, and said she's never seen anyone else doing this either. I got my biggest haul yet. She had so many Easter items that I wanted, more than any other time I've been there. I posted pictures below, and I also posted picture of my full Stamm collections, and of displays inside the store.
It was funny, because when we got there at 10:30 (the store opened at 10), there was another shopper in there already, and that woman is the same one who's been there the two last times we were there also. She lives almost as far away from there as we do (we live over two hours away). The shop is small, and some items the artist only makes one or two of, so you have to snatch up what you want right away! But, since that woman got there half an hour before us, she had gotten a ton of items already. There was only one item she had that there were no more of, that I probably would've bought if I had gotten there before her. But, it's okay, because I got so many amazing pieces. A guy came in while the three of us ladies were there shopping, and we had already put aside so many pieces for us (my mom was also shopping for my sister and cousin, and my mom and I were sending pictures to my sister and cousin to see what they wanted.). Poor guy, he didn't have too much of an Easter selection left! We were there about an hour and a half, and it's only one small room. I just love being in there though, surrounded by so much cuteness!
After the Stamm House we went to a gift store, an antique mall, and then a huge gift store.

I didn't get anything at the other places.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Heart of Haute bubbles dress, and my new peach BAIT Idas that came this week. The Idas match the dress perfectly. I wasn't sure how the peah would look in person, because sometimes shoe colors look different in person than they do on the BAIT website. The shoes ended up a bit brighter in person than they looked online, which is fine by me!
