Hello there! Today I'll be going to Bob's great aunt's 90th birthday party/family reunion, about an hour away from us. Otherwise, I'm not doing much today, besides running to Target and doing some reading. I recently started reading "This Boy's Life", which my grandmother lent me a long time ago, and I never had read. It's a memoir, which is my favorite genre of books. I'm about a third of the way through, and it's definitely good so far.
I'm really looking forward to going to Asbury Park again, this coming weekend. Bob and I are staying over there for one night, and it'll be nice to get back there again before the weather starts to cool here. We're also going to two nearby towns there to go to antique malls, and we haven't been those antique malls before, so I'm hoping I'll have some antiquing luck!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my beloved Bernie Dexter book print dress, that I've had for about four years now. It was my very first Bernie, and although it's always been big on my waist, and I wish I had gotten in the size down, I still LOVE it!! As I've said a few times before, I am an avid reader, always have been, and I also have an English degree. So a book print dress is beyond perfect for me! This dress is extremely rare, and I'm so glad I scored it way back when.

What A Cupcake!
Hello there! Today I'll be with my mom and sister, looking at some wedding venues. They're going to a few all over the area, but I'm not going to all of them. I'll also be visiting Bob's family this afternoon. I'm also doing some laundry and cleaning. Tomorrow is my grandmother's 90th birthday party, and it's at my parent's house. It won't be big; they'll just be a few of us there. My other grandparents will be there, my sister, and a couple of my dad's cousins.
Last night I went out with some friends from a former job, to celebrate on of my friend's birthday, and the news that he got a new job. He had still been at that place since I left a year and a half ago, and someone else in our group still is there. I'm very happy for him for moving on and moving up. It's always somewhat scary to leave somewhere you've gotten used to, no matter how toxic the environment.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Unique Vintage cupcake skirt that I got a year ago, and have posted about before. It was an ordeal trying to get this skirt; there were a lot of shipping delays, and then errors on their part as far as my payment. It was strange and annoying, and I try to avoid ordering from them. They also use Fed-Ex for shipping, which takes a week to come to me. Anyway, I do love this super cute, sweet skirt. The bright shade of blue in the skirt matches my PUG Sabrina blue top really well. This is my favorite shade of blue, by the way.

Flamingos & Lobsters
Hello there! Yesterday I went antiquing in a town about 25 minutes from me. The only thing I bought was a bangle for 50 cents, ha! It's just a red wood bangle. I thought about buying a Pyrex casserole dish that was a beautiful shade of blueish lavendar, but ended up not doing it. I'm going antiquing in Adamstown, PA with my mom in three weeks, and I'll probably find a good amount of items there that I want, so I didn't want to buy much yesterday. Adamstown is THE place to go for antiquing. I last went six months ago with my mom, and am excited to go back. They have tons of antique malls there, and we usually go to about five of them. My parents sometimes go out and spend all weekend there.
Bob and I went out for a couple of drinks last night, to a bar about 10 minutes from us, that we hadn't been to in a few months. Other than that and antiquing, I just did a lot of reading and Netflix watching yesterday. I'm not doing much today either, a typical Sunday for me.
Tuesday Bob and I are going to a family picnic at my parent's house, and Friday we'll be going back to their house for my mom's birthday.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my trusty Hell Bunny flamingo print dress. I got it from Unique Vintage over three years ago, and I still love the shape of the dress, and the print! It's very comfy, too. I added a hook & eyelet in the back, above the zipper, to keep the zipper up. The zipper had been slipping down a bit, because of my chest.
My new mint bangle I got in Nashville, along with my new pink bangle that Bob gave me for our anniversary, both match so well with the dress. I love this combo of blue, mint, & pink, and I also love that my Luxulite lobster necklace matches this dress so well. I don't have a lot of dresses with that shade of dark red/burgundy that would match the lobsters in the necklace.

Candy Shop
Hello there! One week from today Bob and I will be heading to Nashville! I'm sooo excited.
I love exploring cities I've never been to before. My sister lives there, but she'll be in Europe with her fiance while we are in Nashville. She just got engaged last Friday! We'll be staying at their apartment for two nights while we are in Nashville, which'll be nice, since we'll save some money that way. She's also letting us use her car, so we'll also save money that way, although obviously when we go to bars we'll use an Uber.
I'll be seeing my friend Sara (of the blog http://www.inanutshellblog.com/) and her boyfriend while we're there, so that just adds to my excitement! They are also coming there for the Boogie. I haven't seen her in a year, since Viva Las Vegas last year. I met her IRL about a year and a half ago, at the New England Shake Up (it's held in Massachusetts).
We had been online friends, thanks to our blogs and Instagram.
I have more plans than normal the next few days. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for a drink after work, Friday Bob and I are going to a friend's house, Sunday we'll be seeing my grandmother, and if my parents get home early enough (they've been on vacation), I'll be seeing them too, Monday Bob and I are meeting with an architect (about building a house), and Tuesday night I'm going to a board meeting at work. I'll be busier than I'd like to be, that's for sure.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Unique Vintage candy shop skirt. I scored it during a sale they had, where certain skirts were $40, and then I used a $5 coupon, so I got the skirt for $35! I had adored this print since it came out a few months ago. It came out at the same time that the gumball skirt did, which I just got for $25 at Viva. There's so many colors in this skirt, so it's super easy to pair shirts, shoes, and jewelry with it. I think next time I'll wear my mint Sabrina top with the skirt, instead of the white one I'm wearing here. I also couldn't resist pairing the skirt with my Modcloth cupcake sandals! These sandals are too cute. They're really comfortable, too.

Watermelon Skirt
Hello there! Well, it's still very gloomy around here; it hasn't been sunny this week at all.
I can't wait to see & feel the sun again. But, I am endlessly glad and thankful that winter is OVER, and that trees and flowers are blooming everywhere!
I'm not doing much tonight or tomorrow night, but Friday night I'm meeting my friend for a drink, and Saturday I'll be going to Bob's parents' house for the bbq him & his brother are having for their birthdays.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Unique Vintage watermelon skirt that I got a year ago, and have posted about before. I haven't worn in quite awhile, and I can't wait to break it out now that it's springtime! I also just happily discovered that my long sleeve pink cardigan matches this skirt quite well. I'm not a big fan of UV; I've had issues before with a pre-order item & their customer service, and also their shipping takes FOREVER. So, I rarely buy from them now. But, I did just order their candy shop print skirt, because it was on sale, plus I had a coupon, ha (paid under $40!). It's the same style of skirt as this one, but with the most adorable, bright candy shop print! I've admired it on others for awhile, but didn't want to pay full price for it, so I'm glad it finally went on sale (the sale was temporary, just over last weekend).

Flamingos & Lobsters
Hello there! I haven't been up to much this week, as of yet. I ran a litle errand after work each night this week, but that's been it. On Saturday Bob and I are going to Bethlehem to go out to eat, and go to a store. We are also going to check out an antique store on our way back home (well, it's a bit out of the way), that we've never been to before. It's also Bob's dads' birthday this weekend, and so we'll be going to his parents' for cake either Saturday night or Sunday afternoon; not sure which yet.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Hell Bunny flamingo dress that I got from Unique Vintage about three years ago. It's an oldie, but a goody. I think it's a flattering style, and I loveee the print. Can't go wrong with a good flamingo print! I also have this Hell Bunny style in a seahorse print. I used to have a lot of Hell Bunny, but I'm not very into the brand anymore. The quality isn't the best (material is thin), and also I haven't really been into their prints in awhile. They are pretty cheap in price, which is great. I have one other flamingo pritn dress (Banned Apparel brand), but I like this Hell Bunny one the best. I always pair it with this flaming brooch, because how could I not?? I also thought my new Splendette bangles pair quite nicely with the outfit.

Cupcake Skirt
Hello there! I didn't do much this weekend so far, and am just staying home today, which is fine by me, since we were just away on vacation.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Unique Vintage cupcake skirt. It's the same skirt style as my Unique Vintage watermelon skirt. I ordered this skirt two months ago, during the Memorial Day sale, when it was only $56. It originally said that it'd ship by June 15. Well, June 15 came & went, so I did an online chat with their customer service, and they said it was supposed to come very soon. I did another chat a couple weeks later, and the same thing happened. You think they'd just sent a general email to anyone who ordeed the skirt to update them on estimated date changes for shipping. Well, finally, in the beginning the skirts came in. I got a call though, saying that since I hadn't been charged originally for the skirt, they needed me to pay for it now. So, they sent me a Paypal request for payment, I paid immediately. I was told my skirt would ship that night. I went on vacation, and while I'm on vacation (a week after I was told the skirt had shipped), I get another voicemail, saying I need to pay for the skirt. What the hell?!?! I was so mad! I checked my bank account, and the funds had been taken out when I paid for it the week before. I ended up emailing them, explaining, and they still didn't get it. After more back and forth, they finally understood what happened, and shipped it, and it arrived yesterday. It was so frustrating! It makes me not want to ever order from them again, especially not pre-orders.
Anyway, I do LOVE the skirt! It's soooo cute, and my shoes are perfect with it! The skirt is decently thick, too.

500th Post!
Hello there! Wow, this is my 500th blog post! Kind of hard to believe it, but I hit 500 after blogging for a little over three years! When I first started blogging, I had no idea how long I'd be doing it for. I'm glad I've kept it up (I've never taken a break from it); I still enjoy doing it, and that's what matters. My style has changed somewhat since then; I still wear tons of bright colors, but back then I was still wearing some Express brand clothing, mixed in with Modcloth (I had just discovered Modcloth!), and had yet to discover Pin Up Girl Clothing, Bernie Dexter, or Trashy Diva!
I found out about my now favorite brands from seeing girls on Instagram wearing them, and wearing those brands on their blogs. I'm so grateful for these mediums, because I don't know how else I would've discovered my now favorite brands that I now can't imagine not wearing! I feel so wonderful wearing the clothing in my wardrobe, and I love creating outfits with my shoes, purses, and accessories. It's expression of who I am on the inside, basically a 1950's Rainbow Brite! I'm an optimistic, happy person by nature (I come by it naturally, as my mom is, too), and maybe that's part of why I've always been so drawn to bright colors and prints.
I want to take a momeny to thank the people who read my blog! I'm glad I've found a community of lovely, stylish ladies through blogging and Instagram, who inspire me, and make me feel not alone when it comes to my fashion interests!
Okay, on to the outfit pictures below. I'm wearing my new Retrospec'd Connie dress in Gay Parisi, which I got from Unique Vintage during their 20% off Memorial Day sale. Who doesn't love a sale?! The color scheme is amazing in this dress! I thought my lavendar BAITs would match perfectly, and they do! The dress is big on the waist in me, but fits well in the bust, and there isn't any gaping with the buttons, which is great. Retrospec'd is being carried in a lot more U.S. stores recently, which makes me happy! They are an Australian brand, and I bought my first dress of theirs at Viva Las Vegas this year. They choose wonderful vintage inspired prints.

Unique Watermelon
Hello there! Well, MDW has officially begun, and I am VERY happy about that! It's been so long since there's been a three day weekend; it's been almost five months (New Year's Day was the last one for me)!
Today's not starting off the best; I'm taking my car to inspection. But, tonight we are going to my parent's house for a bbq, and my grandparents will be over, too. After that, Bob and I are going to an outdoor bar we haven't been to before. Tomorrow we are going to Bob's parent's for a bbq, too. Monday we'll just be staying home, which will be really nice.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Unique Vintage watermelon skirt. I had seen it on a lot of ladies online, and loved how it looked. When I ordered it it was on pre-order, as the previous runs had sold out, so I had to wait about three weeks to finally get it. I was very impressed with the quality of it! It's thick, and very flattering. I got it for 20% off, making it only $57.60, so it's a good deal. They have a pre-order right now for two new prints, a cupcake print and a lemon print. I ordered the cupcpake one (let's be hoenst, how could I not?!), and received 20% off again (MDW sale! The code is MEM20). I'll post a picture of the cupcake skirt below, too.
The white Sabrina top from Pin Up Girl Clothing that's I'm wearing below is the perfect basic. It's thick enough to not show a bra, which is very important to me, and it goes with everything!

Serenity Bridge Dress
Hello there! Argh, it was so bitterly cold day!! Wind chill was below zero. I actually cracked, and wore pants! I hadn't worn pants since April. I really didn't like it either, but I also couldn't bear to be so freezing again. A few people made comments about me wearing pants, ha. I feel so bad for my husband, since he works outdoors. He gets to be in heated machines at least part of the time though.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Bernie Dexter dress. I bought it with some of the money I got for Christmas. I had wanted the dress since I first saw it about a month or so ago. But, didn't want to pay full price for it, even if it was bought with Christmas money. Luckily, Unique Vintage was having a 25% off full price items sale, so I snagged it! I have this style of Bernie dress in two other dresses. It's my fav Bernie style. I think the print on it is just so gorgeous. She picks the prettiest nature prints!

Never Enough Flamingos!
Hello there! Today I'm going to be cleaning the apartment, doing laundry, working out, seeing the movie "Wild" with Bob, and then going over my friend's apartment. I have the book "Wild", and really loved it. I'm pretty excited to see the movie! I also went to the movies Monday with my sister, but in general I don't go to the movies much at all. I also really want to see "The Imitation Game", but it's not playing at our local theater right now.
Yesterday was a really nice day, I got to relax and also got some things done. I worked out, wrote thank you notes, went to the bank and library, watched a documentary (which was really good and sad, called "Blackfish"), read, and then at night went out to a bar with Bob, his brother, and three friends. I don't want to be too busy over my break, but I also don't want to not do much at all. So far it's been a nice balance.
Tomorrow Bob and I are heading to Bethlehem to go out to eat & have drinks, and go to a store there. I'm excited for that. He's treating me to lunch as part of my Christmas present, too. It's been very sunny the last three days, so that's been wonderful. Hope it is tomorrow, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Erstwilder flamingo necklace and brooch! Of course it's a perfect pairing with my Hell Bunny flamingo dress. I recently got this pink sparkle Lux De Ville purse on eBay. It's my first Lux De Ville purse; I love the look of them. I also got a red sparkle one for Christmas in a slightly different style.
Dress: Unique Vintage (Hell Bunny)
Cropped Cardigan: Poshmark (Old Navy)
Necklace, Brooch: Gifts (Erstwilder)
Heels: B.A.I.T Footwear
Purse: eBay (Lux De Ville)
~Bye bye for now!
