Hello there! Last night Bob & I stayed in, watched TV, and had some drinks. I also sewed(!) a bit, and he baked corn bread and fortune cookies. Bob has been helping me start sewing; I started Thursday night. I'm quite an unpatient person, but he is the opposite, so it's nice to have him calm me down. He's also very good with working with his hands and reading instruction, while I am not good with either! I just wait to see the finished product, and get to wear my popsicle skirt! The print is so bright and perfect for me. It may be a little "out of season" now, but I don't mind.
Bob's family is coming over tonight, which is why Bob was making fortune cookies last night. (He's making a chinese food meal, if you couldn't guess, ha.) I'm not that into Asian food, but he's making a dish with beef and broccoli, and that is one Asian dish that I do like. I'm also meeting my friend tonight for a drink.
The lighting was quite atrocious in the pictures below. But, I wanted to show my new B.A.I.T. Footwear red Robbie heels! They are a bright shade of red that I didn't have in a pair of shoes before. They match this strawberry skirt perfectly, as well as a lot of other skirts and dresses I have. I had been wearing a dark pair of red B.A.I.T. Ida heels with this skirt (and my other skirts and dresses), but I was hoping I'd find a better shade of red to match, and I'm glad I finally did. I already had these shoes in black patent, and knew they were comfy and adorable. I hope they make them in more colours I like/want soon. I really need a pair of kelly green heels!

Antique Capital of the U.S.
Hello there! Bob and I had a good time in Adamstown, PA this past Sunday (the "antique capital of the U.S."). There are about ten antique malls there, plus scattered antique stores. We went to four antique malls. I wore the ice cream Bernie Dexter dress pictured below. SO many people complimented me on various parts of my outfit. Most of the compliments were on my dress and purse I had with me, my gumball machine purse. A lot of people thought my dress was actual vintage. Everytime I told people what brand my dress, shoes, or jewelry were, they had never heard of the companies. I wasn't surprised about that; no one I've met in the area knows about the clothing/shoes/accessories I wear. I hadn't heard of the brands I wear until I started reading blogs and going on Instagram a couple of years ago.
I wasn't surprised at all the comments/stares I got, because the people who go to these antique malls obviously love "vintage-y"/antique looking things, so my "look" would be appealing to a lot of those people. It's still hard for me to be out in public and being stared at. I usually purposely won't look at the people that I can feel are staring. If they decide to say something, that's fine, and I'll respond. You think I'd be used to it by now, after all these years. (I've never really dressed "normally".)
I saw some pretty cute housewares that I'd like to have. But, we don't have the room in our apartment, and I didn't want to spend more money. Once we buy a house, I want to go to Adamstown, and pick out some items for it. I'd love to have a 1950's style kitchen table and chairs, that's for sure. My parents have one. I did see one cute set there I liked a lot. All in all we had a good time, I enjoyed it more than Bob did though, ha. But, hopefully he'll go back with me in a few months.
I bought a necklace, and two bracelets, all from one vendor, who was working a booth at one of the antique malls we went to. The items I bought are new, not antiques. The woman who runs the booth was really nice. All of her items are from France or Australia. I am OBSESSED with the necklace!! It is absolutely perfect for me. I had to put it on right away after we got in the car after going to that antique mall. One of the bracelets I got is picured below, too. My mom is actually going to give it to me for Christmas.

Unicorns & Rainbows
Hello there! Today I'm meeting my friend for lunch at Panera, and tomorrow I'm going to Adamstown with Bob, which I'm very excited about! I know we won't have enough time there to see all the antique places, or even most, but it'll still be good to get to go to some.
I got to see my parents Thursday night when we went to visit my great uncle. Last night Bob and I attempted to watch the first episode of "Wentworth", an Australian prison drama. I unfortunately fell asleep for most of it, ha. Not because it was boring though! He saw the whole thing, and liked it. He had heard from some cousins that they liked it better than "Orange is the New Black", which is hard to believe! But, I definitely want to watch that episode in full.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my adorable unicorns and rainbows dress I got at Wicked in New Orleans. It's Retrolicious brand. Retrolicious chooses the best fabrics to make dresses out of! I have a quite a few of their dresses and skirts now. I wish they'd come out with more longer length dresses. They don't make many that are longer than this, but I do have one that is.
Dress: Wicked New Orleans (Retrolicious)
Cropped cardigan: eBay (Old Navy)
Necklace: Etsy (Luxulite)
Brooch: DNJ Retro (Erstwilder)

Junk Food Skirt
Hello there! Tonight I'm not doing too much, just going to work out and relax. I'm very excited for this weekend, when Bob and I are going to Adamstown, PA for the day. We aren't decided on the day, but it'll probably be Sunday. Whatever day we don't go, I'm meeting my friend for lunch, I think we're going to Panera. I haven't been there in a little while, so I'm looking forward to that.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my junk food skirt I purchased on Etsy about a year ago. I also have this print in a short dress. I prefer wearing this longer, full circle skirt. But, I love the print so much that I don't want to part with the dress! I'm also wearing my Mode Merr shirt I picked up at New England Shake Up last month. I think the keyhole design with the tie top part is really cute. I loveeee my new Rough Seas Design wristlet/purse, pictured below. I now own four of the wristlet/purses (they have a detachable wristlet strap and detachable purse stap) and one of the purses. I just received a bright pink wristlet/purse today, with an ice cream cone print on the front of it.
Top: Mode Merr
Skirt, Earrings: Etsy

Trip To Bethlehem
Hello there! Bob and I had a good time yesterday in Bethlehem. I got what I always order at Brew Works, Bavarian pretzels and beer cheese soup dip. It's one of my favourite meals ever. I've only ordered it at one other German restaurant, and it wasn't nearly as good there. After we had dinner and a couple of drinks there, we went to the Moravian Book Store. We looked around, but didn't buy anything. Then we headed over to the nearby casino. I didn't gamble at all, just had a couple of drinks. Bob gambled a bit at a slot machine. He's more into gambling than I am, that's for sure, ha. Bethlehem is a really nice, old German town with mom and pop little shops and restaurants, as well as the casino. It's an hour away from us, so it's a great place to take a day trip to on the weekends. Brew Works is my favourite restaurant in our area. We don't go out to eat much at all, so I really enjoy it when we do.
In my last post, I posted about my Moais in Space skirt, and I paired it with my lime green peasant top. This is another skirt that pairs perfectly with that top. I got this skirt for a steal a few months ago. It was $25 including shipping from Australia! It's big on me, but not so huge it falls off. It was more than worth the price. The print is just so cute and perfect for me.

Moais in Space & Lime
Hello there! Bob and I are going to Brew Works this afternoon/evening for an early dinner & drinks. We'll also be going to the Moravian Book Store while we are in town. It's the oldest book store in the U.S.! They also have a lot of Christmas decorations there. We haven't been out to Bethlehem in about three or four months. When I was younger I used to have no interest in going to Pennsylvania. But, now the two towns we like to day trip to are in PA. There's also two other towns that my mom and I go to in PA a couple times a year, which I also really enjoy.
Next weekened Bob and I are going to a different town in PA, that we haven't been to together before, and he's never been there, period. I used to go with my parents when I was a lot younger. I probably haven't been in fifteen years. It's actually the "antiques capital of the U.S.", Adamstown, PA. I'm very excited to go! When my parents took me and my sister when we were younger, we hated it, it was so boring to us. But, now that I have a real appreciation for antiques (specifically 1950's), I think it'll be a great time for us. It's under two hours away too, which isn't bad. My parents go there at least a couple of times a year. There's just SO much shopping there that they stay overnight there often. There's also three breweries/brew pubs there, which Bob is interested to try.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Oblong Box Shop Moais in Space skirt and lime green Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant top. I just love the colour lime green so much, and don't have enough of it in my wardrobe. Originally when I saw this top hit the PUG site, I didn't order it because the colour looked duller on screen. But, once I saw some bloggers posting pictures of themselves wearing it, it looked a lot brighter on them, so I made the plunge. I'm so glad I did, because it is the perfect shade of bright lime. I don't have too many skirts yet that match it, but I do have a few, including this one.

Have I Mentioned How Much I Love My Tomato Dress?
Hello there! Well, we are over the hump over the work week, so that's something. Friday night I'm going with Bob to a couple of stores about twenty minutes away or so. We're going to JoAnn Fabrics and Barnes & Noble. Saturday night we are going out to dinner at Brew Works. We had been planning on doing that last Saturday, but ended up changing our minds. I always love going to Brew Works, it's one of my favourite resturants.
Have I mentioned how much I love my tomtato dress?? I think I may have a time or two, ha...I got it last November during Bernie's black Friday sale. I had never really considered getting this dress before then, but all of a sudden a light bulb went off, and I realized I had to have, and couldn't believe I hadn't paid attention to it before! It's now one of my favourite dresses and favourite Bernies! Originally Bob was going to give it to me for Christmas, butttt, I loved it so much when it arrived that I couldn't wait for Christmas, and he ended up giving me a Bernie skirt for Christmas instead, ha.
