Darlin' Darlene

Hello there! Happy Saturday! I don't have much going on this weekend, but Bob and I are going out to eat for an early dinner tonight, at Friendly's. We haven't been to Friendly's in a quite awhile, probably close to a year. There's one right around the corner from us.
We're going tonight for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We don't like going out to eat when it's crazy busy, so the last few years we haven't gotten out to eat on an actual Valentine's Day weekend.
Neither of us are watching the Super Bowl tomorrow; we have no interest. Bob does like watching some football, but he can't stand the Patriots, and I can't stand football, period. So, I'm very glad he didn't ask me to go to a Super Bowl party this year.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Bernie Dexter dress. This one is a brand new style she released, and it's called the Darlene. It's very similar to the Kelly dress, which is my favorite style of hers. I also really love this Darlene. I think the best parts of the dress are the Peter Pan collar and the waist area. I even think this one is more flattering on me than my Kellys. The dress originally came with a black tie around the neck, but I used a seam ripper immediately to take it off, as I wasn't crazy about it. I also like to wear it with the zipper not all the way up. I got the same size in this one as most of my Kellys are, and it does fit a little bit smaller, but that's good for me, because the waist on my Kellys are loose on me, and this one is a better fit, although I do still have some room in the waist on this. The bust is also tighter in this one, but not uncomfortably so. So, if you're in between sizes, I'd go with your larger size in this one, especially if you have a large bust.
Believe it or not, I have almost no dresses with a pink background on them! Pink is one of my favorite colors, so I had to snap this one up. Also, I can't resist a good kitty print, and I have this same print but with a red background in a Kelly dress.

Cherry Blossoms

Hello there! It's gorgeous out! This long weekend is supposed to be hot and sunny. Yesterday was hot and humid, and it was supposed to rain, but we ended up not really getting any.
Bob and I were excited to find out "Shameless" is now on Netflix! It's one of our favorite shows, but we don't have Showtime, so we always had to wait until seasons came out on DVD, and were at the library, in order to watch it. Now we're catching up on it on Netflix. Such a great, funny, and entertaining show. William H. Macy has been one of my favorite actors for a long time, and he's so funny in that show.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter Chelsea cherry blossoms dress. Cherry blossom trees are so gorgeous, and so is this print. Bernie seriously picks the most beautiful flower fabrics for her dresses. She hasn't been coming out with many new prints in this Chelsea style, but I hope she does soon. There is a new lipstick print Chelsea I've been eyeing though, which I'm pretty sure I'll be snatching up (it's available for "pre-order" now).

Blue & Purple

Hello there! I don't have too much going on this week. Tonight Bob and I went to my uncle's house, and my parents were there, too. I'm almost done re-reading "Brain On Fire", by Susannah Cahalan. I first read it about a year ago. I highly recommend it. It's a true story. It's a youg woman's  (who is a journalist at the New York Post) account of a mysterious disease that she contracted. It was almost impossible for doctors to diagnose, and caused such insanity to wreak havoc on her mind and body. She had bizarre effects, and almost ended up in an insane asylum, because doctors originally thought it was a type of psychosis. A brilliant doctor got put on her case, and he ended up correctly diagnosing her, and then getting her the right treatments. I won't say more, but you should read it! It's scary, because this could happen to anyone. But, she put such a spotlight on it, that the disease is much more recognizable and correctly diagnosed now.
This Saturday I'll be meeting my friend for lunch & then going to Bob's parent's house for dinner. We haven't had dinner at his parent's in a very long time. I did see his parents for a little while last Sunday, when we went over there for Bob to work on my car.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva turquiose plaid Annette dress. I have four TD Annette dresses, and they are my favorite TD style. Purple & blue isn't my normal colour combination that I gravitate towards, but I really like this outfit.

Happy 2016!

Hello there! Ahh, I'm so very glad to be out of work until Monday. I know the long weekend will fly by though, as it always does. I plan on doing a whole lot of relaxing! I met my friend for a drink last night, and tonight I'm going with Bob to a New Year's Eve party at his friend's house about forty minutes away. Unfortunately, none of my friends will be there. I don't really want to go, but my husband doesn't get to see his friends often, so I want him to be able to go and have drinks (I'm driving).
Two dresses I ordered with some of my Christmas money arrived yesterday! I'm wearing one in the pictures below. I adore this Bernie dress! I've had the skirt for a year, but am now selling it on eBay. I much prefer the dress. It took me awhile to finally order the dress, and I'm really happy with my decision. I find it more flattering on me, and I love the fuller skirt.

I also received a Voo Doo Vixen apple, strawberry & floral print shirt dress. I like that print a lot too, but prefer this shape to that one. I'll be keeping it too, though. I also ordered the Bernie New Year's print dress yesterday from Pin Up Girl Clothing (got the last one!), with a coupon, but of course it won't be here in time to wear tonight. Oh well, I figured I can wear it for my birthday, weddings, etc., so I won't just be wearing it on New Year's Eve's.
Happy New Year to all! Hope 2016 is a great one for us all!

Trip To Bethlehem

Hello there! Bob and I had a good time yesterday in Bethlehem. I got what I always order at Brew Works, Bavarian pretzels and beer cheese soup dip. It's one of my favourite meals ever. I've only ordered it at one other German restaurant, and it wasn't nearly as good there. After we had dinner and a couple of drinks there, we went to the Moravian Book Store. We looked around, but didn't buy anything. Then we headed over to the nearby casino. I didn't gamble at all, just had a couple of drinks. Bob gambled a bit at a slot machine. He's more into gambling than I am, that's for sure, ha. Bethlehem is a really nice, old German town with mom and pop little shops and restaurants, as well as the casino. It's an hour away from us, so it's a great place to take a day trip to on the weekends. Brew Works is my favourite restaurant in our area. We don't go out to eat much at all, so I really enjoy it when we do.
In my last post, I posted about my Moais in Space skirt, and I paired it with my lime green peasant top. This is another skirt that pairs perfectly with that top. I got this skirt for a steal a few months ago. It was $25 including shipping from Australia! It's big on me, but not so huge it falls off. It was more than worth the price. The print is just so cute and perfect for me.
