Virginia Beach, Part II

Hello there! I'm so glad the weekend is here once again. I don't have much going on this weekend, but that's fine with me, after being on vacation part of the last two weekends (and all of last week). I've been cleaning, doing laundry, and am going to work out. Other than that, it'll be a quiet day/night; just going to relax/read/watch TV/Netflix. My sister and her boyfriend left for California today (for a week). My good friend is in Myrtle Beach now for a week, too.
Next Saturday my husband and I are probably either going to NYC for the day, or to the shore for the day. I'm excited for either one! I do really want to go back to Enz's soon, the shop in Brookyln we went to in June. They carry Bernie Dexter and Trashy Diva (among other great reproduction brands)! I don't of any shops nearer to me that do. I obviously like shopping online, and luckily don't have to make many returns, but it is really nice to be able to try clothing on first.
The below pictures are the rest of the pictures from my Virginia Beach trip with my husband. The bracelet picture is showing a bracelet I bought while on the trip. I really love the paring of bright turquiose & coral in it. It matches both my PUG Harley dresses so well. I didn't buy any other jewelry or any shoes or clothing! I didn't see any shops selling the type of clothing/shoes I am into.
Our trip just flew by, as they always do. I already can't wait to go on our next one, ha! We don't have anything booked yet, unfortunately. But, we may go away for just 4 days in early September. It's not set in stone yet, but hopefully will be soon! If we don't do that, we probably won't be going away again until March-ish, which is a long time to wait. We just love to travel so much. I'm so glad my husband feels the same way I do, ha, or that would've been a big problem! My parents travel a lot, so that's where I got it from. My dad's been to 49 states! He does travel for work a bit though ha, so that's a big part of why he's been to so many. I think I've been to about 32 states so far, and three countries.

Part 1 Of Our VA Beach Vacation

Hello there! Bob and I got back from our Virginia Beach vacation yesterday, around 6:30 p.m. We had a really great time on our trip. It wasn't as jam packed with things to do as some of our other trips have been, but we were both happy with that. We still did a lot; we just weren't running around like crazy. We went to the beach almost every day. We skipped one day, because we had gotten pretty burnt the day before, especially all over the backs of our legs. (We had both fallen asleep on our towels for awhile, laying on our stomachs.) The last day we went in, on Friday, it was the best day temperature wise for us to be in the water. The other days we were cold at times, being in the water, but Friday it was warmer out, and the sun was out the whole time we were there. It was also less windy than it had previously been. The waves were rougher, too. So that was fun!
The beaches are nicely kept there, and free to go on, which is great. They aren't free here in New Jersey. Our hotel was right across the street from the beach, which was wonderful. We've stayed there three times now.
I didn't buy any clothing or shoes this trip! There were no stores selling clothing I like, which didn't surprise me, since it's usually almost impossible for me to find clothing in stores. (I buy almost all of it online.) I did find one bracelet I liked, and bought it in a gift store. It has coral & bright blue in it. On our last full day there, we went to a couple of shops that were off the main strip. Bob wanted to go in this one kitchen store, so I went in, not expecting to find anything. But, I found a lot! They had super cute aprons, pot holders, over mitts, spatulas, and dish towels there. I bought a cupcake print apron, oven mitt, dish towel, and spatula, a donut print pot holder, a spoon rest, and an ice cream print dish towel. I also bought a lot of Christmas ornaments at a great Christmas shop across the street from our hotel. They had one tree inside with all sweets ornaments, which was obviously right up my alley. That's how I decorate for Christmas, with as many sweets decorations as possible! That's also how I decorate the whole year, ha.
I'm going to post some pictures of the beginning of the trip in this post.

The drink on the left is the famous Orange Crush. Such a refreshing drink, and one of my favorite drinks ever!

Orange Crush

Hello there!
The pictures below were taken at our hotel, next to the pool. I thought the setting of the huge chess game was neat. I don't even know how to play chess, ha. As you can tell, it was quite bright out again, so I am squinting the pics.
We went to a restaurant/bar called Waterman's almost every day of the trip. We had been there a lot the last time we went to VA Beach, and I loved it there, so I knew I wanted to go there again!
They have my favourite cocktail! It's called an Orange Crush. It's amazing...I can't describe it well enough to give it justice, ha. It's sweet tasting, of course. I love sweet drinks/food. It's fresh squeezed orange juice, sprite, orange vodka, and I think one other ingredient. It goes down so smooth....there's no sting of alcohol at all. It's so popular that almost every guy I saw there, every time I was there, was drinking it! Usually when I'm out at other places, guys are mostly drinking beer or hard liquor.
It's shown in the pictures below- in the first pic, it's the drink on the right.

Home Sweet Home (I Got Engaged!)

Hello there! We had a great trip! We got back from our vacation last night around 10:30. It took us a lot longer to get home than it should have, because in the first half or so of the trip we hit a lot of traffic. We had left Virginia Beach around 11:30 am, so it was a very long car ride! I felt bad for Bob though, since he had to do all the driving. (I don't know how to drive stick.)
This trip was the best trip I've ever been on, because we GOT ENGAGED!!! He proposed right after midnight on Thursday night/Friday morning. He wanted to do it at that time, because it was exactly 4 years, and 9 months of dating. (Novemeber 2 is our dating anniversary.) He did it when we were walking along the beach, on our way back to our hotel. It definetly took me by surprise! I was expecting he would propose sometime soon. But, I really didn't know when. I'm VERY happy!
It stills seem surreal though. It sounds so grown up- to say: "I'm engaged! I have a fiance." Ha. It'll take some getting used to. But, I love telling people about it! Since it happened so late at night, I didn't want to call and wake up my parents, sister, or friends. I was itching to call them though, ha.
I called my mom first on Friday morning. (My parents were on vacation in Boston at the time.) My dad wasn't close by her though, so then I had to call up my dad. Then I waited until when I thought my sister and best friend would be on their lunch breaks at work, which I guessed right, and reached them both on their breaks. My sister was the one who was most excited! She was screaming and crying. It was cute, ha.
I wanted to wait until I told the most important people to me about it, and also until Bob reached his family and told them, until I posted it on Facebook. So, by yesterday evening I had reached almost all the people I wanted to tell via phone. I have another friend I will call soon and tell, but she doesn't use Facebook ha, so there's no threat of her finding out online before I call.
The ring is so unique looking. I've never seen a ring like this before! I love it, and think it's beautiful. A lot of people have been saying how unique it is. He said that's why he picked it out for me, since he knows I love unique items! :)
So, that's why my first outfit blog post since vacation is going to show pictures of the ring!
I'm wearing a maxi dress in the pictures below. I've never bought one before, or ever even tried one on! I always thought that they wouldn't right on me, because of my body type. But, I thought this one looked decent! And I had to snap it up, because of the rainbow colours! I couldn't resist, ha.
Sometimes I find such great items at Marshall's. It's Calvin Klein brand, and usually that brand fits me well, and is flattering on me. I wore it both with the thick black belt, and also without. I like it both ways.
The rainbow shown below, we saw on our last night of the trip. (Friday night.) It was so beautiful! I almost never see rainbows. But, then on our drive up yesterday, while we were in Delaware, I spotted another rainbow!!! I couldn't believe it- two rainbow sightings within 24 hours. I took it as a sign.  :)
