Happy New Year!

Hello there! Happy New Year! Last night Bob and I had a couple drinks at Applebee's, and then went to a friend's apartment for a party. It was a lot of fun. This new year will be a great one, since we'll be married in less than six months! And we've already been engaged for five months, I can't believe it!
Today two of our friends are coming over for dinner. (They're a couple.) It's going to be so good! We're going to have a turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, peas, and cranberry sauce. One of my very favourite meals. I'm so lucky to have a man who loves to cook! And that's he such a great cook.
In the pictures below I'm wearing an Ann Taylor dress. I also have it in red, but with 3/4 sleeves. They are really great dresses for work and special occasions. I wore the red one on Christmas Eve. I think they're quite flattering, and that's reflected in the name of the dresses. They're called "Miracle Dresses." I love this shade of pink as well. It's a nice, bright, vivid shade. I wear these black heels a lot. They're comfortable, and a good height. (About three inches.) I have the same heels in a dark red and bright pink also.
All this time off from work has been great! But, I just can't believe how fast it's been going. That's always the way, isn't it? At least I just have to go back for two days, and then I'll have two more days off! Bob and I may be going to Cheesecake Factory on Saturday. I'm making up my mind if I want to do that, or if I want him to make a tomato tart. He said it's up to me. So, either way it's going to be yummy!
Friday night my mom and I are picking up my wedding dress! I hope it fits well. It's a size up from the sample I tried on in the store.

New Heels & Bracelet!

Hello there! I met two of my friends at a Starbucks today. It was really nice to catch up with them; I hadn't seen them in about a month and a half. I usually see them once a month, and we usually meet at Panera one night during the week, after I get out of work. We just talked for about three hours. One reason it's so nice hanging out with them is that they don't get on my nerves; they're genuinely nice, sweet women who know how to have good conversation. There's just too many people who don't know how to have a decent conversation because they talk over you, talk about things you have no interest in, or for various other reasons.
I also worked out today, did laundry, and did some reading. Bob's waiting to hear from some of his friends, to see if we have any plans tonight. He always does things last minute.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new B.A.I.T. Footwear yellow and white heels! I am now officially addicted to this brand! I only wish I had found out about it a lot sooner. I desperately want the tangerine and white pair. They have them in the sale section of the website, but unfortunately the biggest size available is 1 1/2 sizes smaller than my size 9 feet! Ugh.
I'm also wearing my new rainbow bracelet. I love it! I had been looking all over for a long time for a bracelet like this. I wanted a bracelet with a lot of colours in it. Surprisingly they are hard to find. I scored this one on Etsy, and it came from China. I get impatient when waiting for items to come from overseas, but this was worth the wait! It'll obviously match with a lot of my clothes, and I know I'll be wearing it a lot. I just love Etsy! There's so many amazing items on there, that you wouldn't find in stores. And it's especially great to buy handmade items. I get compliments all the time on things I've bought from Etsy.

Hell Bunny Dress!

Hello there! It's sunny outside, and not that cold. I'll take it! Any bit of reprieve from the constant cloudiness, darkness, and bitter cold temperatures! I wasn't even cold when we took these pictures. I cleaned the apartment earlier and have been doing a few loads of laundry. Bob and I went out and had pizza for lunch. I also wrote a lot of thank you notes (for Christmas presents) and wedding invitation envelopes last night and today.
I'm wearing a very sunny, cheery outfit today. I'm wearing my new Hell Bunny polka dot dress that I got for Christmas from my parents. It's definitely bright red, which is of course great for me, since I can't get enough of bright colours. It's my first Hell Bunny item as well.
I wouldn't normally pair something red with something yellow, but I thought with my flats and jewelry that it pulled those two colours together. The ice cream brooch and cupcake earrings were also gifts from my parents. I really adore both items!
Tomorrow Bob and I are seeing "American Hustle" at the movies. I'm excited! We haven't been to the movies in a long time, and we both have gift cards for the movies. So, I'll get to see it for free, which is great.

The Tree Is Up!

Hello there! Yesterday was great! My dad wasn't able to come though, because he hurt his back. I'll see him tonight though, when Bob and I go over my parents for dinner. I got to talk to my aunt from and cousin from Texas a lot. My cousin Frannie just turned 12, and is already 5'6" and wears size 8 1/2 shoes!! (She's an inch shorter than me and my sister.) I can't believe how different she looks now! I last saw her in the summer, but she seems even more adult-like now! And it's not just the height, it's her face too, that's changed. She's my flower girl, but it's funny because two of my bridesmaids are 5'0" and 5'2"! And who knows, by June she could be even taller.
It was really cute, at one point yesterday one of my grandmother's Maine Coon cats jumped into my lap. I didn't want to get up! I wish my cats would do that. (One of my cats is my grandmother's cat's sister.)
Today I'm going to work out, clean the apartment, and bake Christmas cookies. Bob and I are leaving here around 5:30 to head to my parent's house. My family from Texas is coming, my grandparents, and maybe another aunt and uncle.
Last night we put up our tree, and decorated it! The theme is of course sweets! Those are my favourite decorations ever. I'm always looking for them.
I really love the outfit I put together yesterday. I love how the red belt and cropped yellow cardigan look with the dress, as well as the pairing of the fruit flats with the pie dress! I got a lot of compliments.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello there! Happy Thanksgiving! I'm going to my grandparent's house around 2 today. Bob's going to his aunt and uncle's around the same time. My sister will be there, (she lives in Connecticut) as well as my aunt, uncle, and cousin who live in Texas. My Texas cousin, Frannie is going to be my flower girl!
Tomorrow Bob has to work. I hate how he doen't get off all the holidays that I do. (He works for his dad, who is self-employed.) Tomorrow I'm going to just be hanging out at the apartment until we go over my parents for dinner. I'm going to make cookie dough for Christmas cookies. I'm going to freeze some, and bake some of it. I'm going to finish decorating for Christmas, too. Our tree is in Bob's parent's attic right now. He forgot to bring it over here earlier this week. We were planning on decorating it tonight, so hopefully he'll stop at his parents tonight and get it.
My new green cropped cardigan matches perfectly with this house print dress. I don't have much green in my wardrobe. I've been wearing my new cropped cardigans a lot. They match with so many of my dresses.

Fruit & Pies!

Hello there! Tonight I went to Panera with some friends that I worked with at my previous job. It was nice to see them. There's one woman in particular who I'm the closest with of the group, and it was really nice to get to talk to her in person. I see her once a month or month and a half usually; she's pretty busy. She has such great energy, and is really funny and outgoing, she puts me in a good mood just being around her. It's just easier being friends with women older than me (in general.) For the most part they are more mature and responsible than women my own age, and know how to be a better friend. Of course this isn't true of all older women!
In the pictures below I'm again wearing my new fruit flats! I never want to take them off, they're just so darn perfect. If they matched with more of my outfits, I'd wear them even more! And I never get tired of wearing this pie print dress, it's also perfection.
