Little Pink Houses For You And Me

Hello there! Well, this weekend has been another gorgeous one, weather-wise. We have been sooo lucky this summer so far, to have such beautiful weekends! I don't think it's rained once on a summer weekend. Also, we haven't had much humidity at all in weeks, which is very unusual for August in New Jersey!
Last night was fun at my parent's house. We were there to celebrate my grandmother's birthday. My sister is also home for the weekend, so she was there. And my dad's cousin and his wife came over, too. We don't see them that much.
My mom finished another dress for me, and I got it from her last night. I love it! And it fits better than the last one she made me. She's taking that one in for me soon. I will post pictures of the new one she made me soon.
Today Bob and I are going to my grandparent's house for dinner, My parents, sister, and other grandmother will also be there. And tomorrow I'm meeting my good friend at Panera after work.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my favourite house print dress. (I have four!) This one is my favourite, because of the colours in it! So much pink, orange, & yellow, and those are my three fav colours, and I just love how they look together. The necklace I'm wearing just goes perfectly with this outfit.

A Very Sweet Outfit

Hello there! Ah, I'm so very glad it's the weekend again! Today I'm doing the tasks I normally do on Saturdays: laundry, cleaning, and working out. Bob and I are leaving around 5:15 to pick up my grandmother and head up to my parent's house for a birthday celebration for her. My sister is home this weekend, and I haven't seen her since the wedding, just about two months ago! She's busy, and she also has to travel for work fairly often, and she lives over two hours from us, so she doesn't come home that much. Bob and I are going to visit her the second weekend in October. The last time I went out to visit her was I believe in March, when I went for the day with my parents.
Tomorrow we're going to my other grandparent's for dinner. So, it's a very family-filled weekend!
I'm quite excited for two weekends from now, a: it's a three day weekend! and b: Bob and I are going to Lead East. We've never been before, but my parents told us about it. It's in Parsipanny, New Jersey, and it's a 1950's festival type thing. I was looking on the website, and it looks really neat. I will of course being wearing a Pin Up Girl Clothing outfit! I can't wait to see all the gorgeous old cars.

Folkloric Dress

Hello there! So glad that the work week is more than halfway done with! Tonight I'm going to work out, and also will be talking to one of my friends on the phone. Last night my parents and I went over my grandmother's house for her birthday. She turned 87 yesterday. She looks great for her age, I hope I have some of her genes! We are also celebrating her birthday this Saturday, when my sister can join in. She's not home that much.
In the pictures below I'm wearing the only item of clothing I have that has brown in it! I'm definitely not a fan of brown, but since the pattern on the dress is so darn colourful and cute, I can deal with it, ha. I got the dress from Modcloth a year ago. The material is decently thick, and the brand is Folter. The sandals I'm wearing are Salt Water Sandals brand, and they are the most comfortable sandals ever! I have them in three colours. I got these ones from Zappos, and my other pairs from Modcloth.

Little Beach Getaway

Hello there! We got back around 2:00 p.m. from Atlantic City. We did hit some traffic on the way back, but luckily only in a couple of spots. We also hit traffic on the way down. We knew we probably would both ways; there's just so many people that go to the shore on the weekends in the summer. We had a great time! The weather was just fabulous both days. Today was a little hotter, but we left around 11:00 a.m. Today we just strolled down the boardwalk and I got a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich for brunch, and then we were on our way. Bob didn't want to stay later; he was tired, and thought we'd hit more traffic if we stayed any later. There's hardly any Earl of Sandwiches in the tri-state area, but I got to go to the one in Newark Airport in June, too! I love their tuna melt so much. Last night for dinner I tried their turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce sandwich. It was really good, too.
Yesterday we went to the beach for a couple of hours. I was in the water most of the time. It was cool at first, but just a few mins later it felt fine. There were no decent waves yesterday. The beach was pretty crowded, too. We also hung out at the beach bar for hours, which is my fav thing to do in AC. The tempature felt just right while we were at the beach bar, and it was really sunny all day. I only got a tiny bit burned, and I did use sunblock, like I always do.
You can see in the pictures below, that I took pics standing on a life-size Monopoly game that was on the boardwalk. That was neat. Also, there were two huge, amazing sand sculptures that are pictured below. There were signs that said the World Championship of Sand Scuplting was held in AC in June & July. I wonder how long those sculptures will stay standing! I would have loved to check out all the other sculptures that were there. They are so neat!
The trip went so fast, but it was so nice to get away for a little bit! And I'm very glad I got to go in the ocean this summer. And our hotel was sooo close to the beach and boardwalk; that made us very happy!
I cleaned the apartment after I got home, and have been doing laundry. Other than that, we are taking it easy tonight. Next weekend we are celebrating my one grandmother's birthday on Saturday night, and on Sunday we are going to my other grandparent's house for dinner. Also, my sister will be home next weekend!

New Book Dress!

Hello there! I had quite a stressful day today, I even got a stess headache from it that lasted for hours. I took Advil when I got home, and luckily it's gone now. I hardly ever get headaches. What really made my day was that after work I went and picked up the dress my mom made me, as well as the wedding pictures I ordered! Also, my latest Luxulite brooch arrived today! So, my spirits are lifted a bit. The dress she made me is soooo beautiful! It's my favourite colours; it's mostly pink, orange, and yellow. And the print is of books! Books are one of my favourite things in the world. (I have an English degree!) The dress is big all over on me, but luckily when it's belted you can't tell too much.
I adore my new Luxulite brooch! It's a strawberry. I especially love my fruit brooches from Luxulite. I can't get enough of them!
Tonight Bob is doing some beer-making related stuff at his parent's house. I'm just going to relax and watch TV here at the apartment.
I just can't wait to go away this weekend, and forget about stresses! We are waking up around 7 a.m. tomorrow, which is fine with me. My husband however, is not a morning person! I definitely am. It's very hard for him to wake up on the weekends, and he doesn't use an alarm on the weekends. (I always do.) So, hopefully he doesn't give me too much trouble trying to get him up tomorrow!

Paris Jenny

Hello there! Tonight I met my good friend for a much needed drink. The amazing weather has continued here, and this weekend is supposed to be gorgeous too, which is great since Bob and I will be at the beach! We are staying overnight in Atlantic City Saturday night. I'm so excited to go in the ocean. I just hope the water doesn't feel too cold!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my first Pin Up Girl Clothing purchase. I bought the Paris print Jenny skirt back in December. I love the colours and the gorgeous print! I have three Jenny skirts and three Jenny dresses so far. I actually prefer how the Jenny dresses look on me, I think they are more flattering.

Summer Staple: Flamingo Dress

Hello there! Today we're taking it pretty easy. I'm going to work out, read, order wedding pics, and just lay on the couch, watch TV, & relax. Bob is making tacos for dinner, and I can't wait! I loveee tacos and quesdillas. They contain two of my very fav foods: tomatos & cheddar cheese.
As for the upcoming week, I'm meeting up with my good friend on Wednesday night for a drink. And Saturday is when Bob and I are going to the beach. We are still deciding between staying in AC for the night, or going to Seaside for the day. Either way, I can't wait to go in the ocean! It'll be the first time this year I've gone in the ocean, other than when I just put my feet in it in the beginning of June.
I adore wearing this Hell Bunny flamingo dress! It was a hard dress to track down, and I'm so glad I did! I got it back in April or May, and I have worn it a lot since then. It's adorable and flattering, which are two of the most important attributes in a dress! My new pink B.A.I.T. wedges pair perfectly with the dress, as well. I already had these wedges in a bright, sunshine-y yellow colour. They are so comfortable. And I think the pineapple brooch goes so well with the dress, because of the "tropical" look of both.
