Hello there! Yesterday it ended up snowing for a few hours, which was unexpected, as the forecast didn't say that. So, my plans got changed. I was supposed to go over a friend's place in the early afternoon, and then go to her with Panera to meet my other friend there. Those plans got scratched, and I just ended up goin to my friend's place later on at night, when it had stopped snowing. The roads were fine on my trip there and back, and I stayed out later than normal; I got home at 12:20!
My friend has an adorable Maine Coon kitten, so I got to hang out with him, too. He's five months old, and is so sweet and soft. Maine Coons are my very favorite cat breed! My parents have one Coon, but she may be mixed with something else. She's really small; and Coons are huge, the biggest cat breed. She's also extremly skittish, and wouldn't let humans touch her, but she loves other animals! If someone has an adorable cat or dog, and I'm over their house, I will be hanging out with the cat or dog A LOT, ha.
So, we booked our Vegas trip yesterday! I'm so excited, and relieved to have it booked, so I don't have to worry anymore about missing good flight times. It was cheaper to stay an extra night, so we are staying another night more than we originally had wanted. But, I'm okay with that! The last day of Viva is on a Sunday, and we are leaving early Tuesday afternoon. So, Monday will be completly Viva free. I want to check out some antiquing in Vegas; we've never done that before. So, I'm thinking Monday we'll do that, among other things. I also
always check out the seasonal displays in the Bellagio; they are such gorgeous works of art!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my robin print Retrospec'd Connie dress. I have three Connies. They are really comfortable, and great for all sorts of places. I wear them to work
a lot.

Courtney Dress
Hello there! Today I'll be doing cleaning, laundry, working out, and taking down the tree, and then in the afternoon I'll be seeing a couple of friends, going to a friend's apartment, and then having an early dinner at Panera, which I haven't been to in quite awhile.
I'm really hoping to book our Vegas trip this weekend. I'm ready to just do it, but Bob likes to wait until it gets closer, to see if the prices drop at all. But, I don't like to wait too long, because usually the decent flight times disappear by then. I'll definitely feel better once it's booked. It's just under three months away now. We're going to stay at the Flamingo, which is a haul from the Orleans, where Viva is held, but we'll just use Uber to get there and back.
We like the Flamingo best of all the hotels we've stayed at in Vegas.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Trashy Diva Courtney dress/coat that I snagged for a GREAT price on eBay. It origially retailed for over $200, and I got it for under $100. It's in good condition, and the material is so heavy, and of great quality. I will not be wearing it as a coat, only as a dress. When I first saw it on eBay, that's what my plan was, for a couple of reasons: it's not thick enough to really be a coat, plus I wouldn't be able to fit a dress under it, because it's so tight on my bust. Also, I just love how it looks as a dress! I think the two large buttons are so cute, and that the shoes I'm wearing with the buttons on them go great with the dress. My Trashy Diva red dresses are my closet staples. You can't go wrong with a flattering, classic red dress, and no one makes flattering dresses like TD!
The bracelet I'm wearing is vintage celluloid from the 1930's or 40's. I got it from Etsy, and the condition is wonderful. It feels so neat to wear vintage jewelry. I don't yet own a vintage dress, but I'm sure I will at some point in the future! I almost bought a vintage polka dot shirt dress this week, but decided not to, mostly because it was pricey, and I didn't want to spend the money.

Rainbow Brite
Hello there! We had a two hour delay at work today (I work in a school) due to freezing rain, which was quite nice. It's the second one that's happened since I started there. I've yet to had a snow day though. Maybe that'll happen in February, since that's when we get the most snow usually.
I don't have too much going on this week, except I'm meeting a friend on Saturday at Panera, and another friend may be coming, too.
I received the rainbow skirt I'm wearing in the below pictures in the mail yesterday, from Modcloth. I wore it to work today. I LOVE it! It's my second rainbow stripe Modcloth skirt; they released this skirt in a pastel rainbow striped version last year. They're both quite comfy; they have a bit of elastic in the back of the waistband. This bright rainbow version runs a little bigger in the waist than my pastel one.
Modcloth hasn't been coming out with much I like at all in the past year or so. But, this time last year they did release a couple of items I loved, like the pastel rainbow skirt, and a rainbow dress. I occassionally buy BAIT Footwear shoes from them, too.
In the pictures I'm wearing Bakelite bangles I bought from the Etsy shop Brighter Bakelite. They're my favorite shop for Bakelite. They release new items in the shop every Monday & Thursday, so I always check them out on those days, and I just found out today that they're vending at Viva!! I can't wait to check out their booth.
I got a lot of comments from staff where I work today, about how brightly I was dressed.
I guess some of them don't notice I dress quite bright every day! I wish they'd all just get used to already. It's really hard being as shy as I am, and dressing the way I do, since it attracts so many looks and attention; things I don't want.

Get Your Ticket
Hello there! I'm glad I had no plans to go anywhere this weekend, as it's very cold here. I can't wait until later in the week when it'll reach 50 degrees! It'll feel like summer, ha.
Last night Bob and I booked our flights to Nashville and back, and also booked two more nights, but at a different hotel. We had originally booked Friday and Saturday at the Opryland Hotel, which is where the Nashville Boogie is being held, but we were unable to book other nights there, because they were booked. Bob called the Opryland Hotel again yesterday, and the only Wednesday and Thursday availability they had would be in a different room, and one that only had a sofa bed in it!
So, we scratched that, and booked a room for Wednesday and Thursday at their sister hotel across the street. We did it right away, because the woman at the Opryland Hotel that Bob spoke to said their sister hotel was almost booked already for those days. I feel much better now that we booked it, got the airfare, and we also bought our tickets to the Boogie itself.
We will most likely be staying at my sister's apartment in Nashville on that Sunday and Monday, and are flying back on Tuesday evening.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my newest Bernie Dexter dress, which arrived yesterday. This tickets print first appeared on Bernie's website a couple of weeks or so ago in the Chelsea style, which has spaghetti straps. I ordered it right away, but once I saw this print on the site soon after in this Kelly style, I knew I had to have it instead. As I've said before, including in my blog post yesterday, shirt dresses are just so much easier for me to wear. I can wear them anywhere. So, as soon as I received my Chelsea dress in the mail, I shipped it back to Bernie's shop, to get an exchange for the Kelly.
I'm so glad I was able to exchange it for the Kelly. I love this print! The color palette is a bit different for me. There's dark blue and gray in the print, as well as the bright citrus colors. I played up the citrus colors palette with my Brighter Bakelite bangles. I meant to also pair my lime green Luxulite hoop earrings with this outfit, but forgot.
I had a Retrolicious rainbow tickets print dress that I got from Modcloth years ago, but I ended up selling it earlier this year, because it was quite short on me. I still loved the print though, so I'm really glad I now have a longer verison in my wardrobe.

Buzz, buzz!
Hello there! The weekend is upon us, yay! It was only a four day work week this week, but I was still eager for the weekend to start, ha. It's just hard to transition back to work after the holidays. This coming work week is a five day one, but then I'll have a three day weekend for MLK Jr. Day.
Bob and I aren't up to much this weekend. It'll mostly be spent at home. I'm hoping to book the Vegas trip, and airfare for Nashville. We have the Opryland hotel booked for the Nashville Boogie for that Friday & Saturday, but at the time it was booked for Thursday & Sunday. We're going to call and see if there are any openings for Wednesday & Thursday now.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Bernie Dexter Jodi dress in the bumblee bee print.
I have four Jodis. They are low cut, so I have to wear a bandeau under them to work.
If this dress had come in one of her shirt dress styles, I would've gotten that instead, as shirt dresses are good (they're higher cut) for all places; work, family functions, etc. I have so many shirt dresses for multiple reasons, one of them being the reason I just mentioned; how easy they are to wear anywhere, and also I just find them quite flattering on me, plus I just love how they look.
This dress and brooch have me thinking spring! It's only been winter for 2.5 weeks, but, I'm over it! Big time over it. I have a lot to look forward to in spring too; I'm going to Vegas in April, & Nashville in May.
Oh, and as a side note: I got my first bangle stand this week! I ordered it from Etsy, and posted a picture below. I don't know why I waited so long to try one! I love seeing (almost) all of my fakelite together (I had a few that didn't fit on here). My real Bakelite it stored elsewhere.

Geisha Fans
Hello there! Well, I'm back in the swing of things, after a nice, long, relaxing break from work. It's always a little rough to come back to work after a vacation; like a jolt to the system, ha. I don't have much going on this week or weekend as of yet, which is fine by me.
I did a lot of cleaning things out/getting rids of things/organizing at our apartment over break, and I'm probably going to do just a tad more this weekend. After that, I'll be set. I love purging things; it makes me feel good. It also helps a lot since we're in an apartment and not an area with more space. Bob's going to start going through his stuff this week too; he wants to get rids of some things and take some things to his parents' house to keep there until we get our own house, which will hopfully be soon.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Geisha Fans Honey dress that I got from their website two years ago. It's still my most beloved "fancy" dress. I don't wear it to work. Since I bought it, I've brought it with me on I think all of my vacations I've gone on. I love wearing it in Vegas, and will be bringing it again in April. The Honey is one of my very favorite TD styles; it just works so well on my body. I have three Honeys right now, and this is my favorite of the bunch. The background shade of blue is divine, and the print is beyond gorgeous! TD uses a lot, and has always used a lot of Asian inspired prints in their designs, and I have loved most of their recent ones. This is definitely my very favorite of all of their Asian inspired prints.

In The Kitchen
Hello there! Well, I knew it would happen quickly, and it did; my Christmas break is winding down; I go back to work on Tuesday. All good things must come to an end, I suppose. At least I'll have off again in a couple of weeks for MLK Day. It just stinks though, that after Christmas and New Year's, there's nothing really to look forward to until spring. Well, at least for me there's not, because I hate winter.
Yesterday I did some cleaning, laundry, worked out, and went to Bethlehem for an early dinner with Bob. I also finished watching "The OA". It's a Netflix series, and there's only one season available right now. It's a decent show; it's about the supernatural, specifically near death experiences. I liked "Stranger Things" better though, and can't wait for it to come back!
I'm not doing much at all today, just staying home and doing alot of relaxing. I'm also going to do doing some organizing, and going through some things in the apartment to get rid of stuff. Oh, and Bob's going to cut my hair today, and I'm looking forward to that. He cut it about
3 months ago, but it grows so fast!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my favorite Bernie Dexter Kelly dress, and it was also my first Kelly dress. I've had it for a year now, and I get alot of wear out of it. I especially love wearing it when I go antiquing, and you can probably guess why! I do love a good theme, ha. This Kelly is super tight on my bust, and after I ordered my first three Kellys I started ordering up one size to have extra room in the bust.
