Haunted Housewife

Hello there! Happy weekend! Last night Bob and I went over my parent's house. It was nice to see them, but also so nice to see the dog and cats! One of the cats is named Lucy, and she's nine years old I believe. So, I lived there for years while she was there. I miss her when I'm not visiting. She's a Maine Coon, which is my very favourite cat breed. She's so fluffy, soft, beautiful, and very smart. (They are the smartest breed.) The other cat is a Maine Coon too, but is small, and doen't look as much like a Coon as Lucy does. She also is afraid of people; she won't ever let you touch her.
I can't wait to have pets, but we won't be having any until we have a house. We are allowed to have cats and dogs in our apartment complex, but, we don't want to spend the money now on them, and also it's not an ideal place for a dog. Unfortunatly, Bob is allergic to cats!
Today I'm cleaning, doing laundry, working out, making cookies, running a couple of errands, and I may meeting my good friend for a drink tonight.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Deadly Dames Haunted Housewife dress from Pin Up Girl Clothing. It was one of my first purchases from PUG, over a year ago. I love the 50's style of it. I really like the cut at the bust and the collar and sleeves. I wish I could find more dresses in this style. PUG has a black one, but of course I can't wear that, ha.

Red Varga

Hello there! We are halfway to spring! It's progress, at least...and it's been noticeably staying light out later, which is also great. Friday night Bob and I are going to my parent's house to visit them and the animals (two cats and one Sheltie). I don't really have plans otherwise for this weekend, but I may get together with my good friend Saturday night.
In the pictures below I'm wearing one of my Trashy Diva Varga dresses. I also have this dress in a light yellow shade. I bought them both while in New Orleans on my honeymoon this past summer. I love the shape of these dresses. And I can make them work appropriate by wearing my bandeau and cropped cardigan/shrug. As I've mentioned before, red dresses are my staple. I don't own any solid black dresses, because as you can probably tell, they just aren't "me"! I've also been told red is my best colour, and I love wearing it!

So Many Popsicles

Hello there! Last night Bob and I went out to eat at an Irish pub at a casino. It was quite good. We've eaten there a few times now. Then we had some drinks at bars in the casino, and gambled a little bit. Bob was having quite good luck. I only tried two slot machines, lost $3.75, and then stopped ha. I really hate losing money, so I always stop after losing just a little bit. Bob was up $95 at one point, but ended up leaving with $72. He's a lot more of a risktaker than I am.
Today I'm not doing too much. I'm working out, reading, watching "Downton Abbey", and I may be going to my parent's for a couple hours, but I'm still deciding that. Tonight Bob's going to have to get ready to plow/salt, and is going to salt at least one of the businesses he takes care of. I feel bad for him, I know how much he hates doing it on the weekends.
Two months from today is our Vegas vacation! We are slowly but surely making progress.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my other Emily & Fin dress. In the blog post I posted yesterday I wearing my rainbow stripe Emily & Fin dress. They're both from Modcloth. Both of the prints are so lovely, and perfect for my aesthetic/style! This print is obviously quite summery ha. I didn't actually wear it outside of the apartment the day I took pictures. It's also quite thin material, so it's not very good for winter.

Rainbow Brite

Hello there! I'm so glad it's the weekend again, and that it is the last day of January! I just hate January and February because of the winter, I just always want them to fly by.  Tonight Bob and I are going out to dinner at an Irish Pub at a casino about an hour away. We're going to have a couple drinks after dinner at the casino, too. I was going to go up to my parent's house tomorrow afternoon, but it depends on the weather. We're supposed to get snow, again. I won't be watching the Super Bowl; I have zero interest in football.
In the pictures below I am wearing quite a rainbow outfit, which makes me happy, because being colourful just brings me joy. This dress is obviously better suited for spring/summer/fall, and I didn't actually wear this outside of the apartment the day I took these pictures. It's a very thin dress, and it has been absolutely freezing out. I have this dress in a popsicle print as well. I really like the shape of the dress, and think it's quite flattering. The brand is Emily & Fin. They have some really cute prints. Modcloth has a decent selection of the brand.

Cherry Jubilee

Hello there! Well, once again the weather forecasters were SO far off for us! We were supposed to be 12-16 inches of snow, possibly more. We got about six inches total. I have to go into work around noon today. Luckily, the roads look okay.
This Saturday night Bob and I are going to The Sands for dinner and drinks. It's a casino about an hour from us, in Pennsylvania. We have stayed there over night a couple of times. It's a decent casino, but of course nothing like going to Vegas! The restaurant we are eating at is quite good though; it's an Irish pub.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Bernie Dexter dress I scored on eBay a couple of months ago, for about half the price of a regular Bernie dress. It's a size bigger than I normally wear in Bernie dresses, but you can't tell with the belt on. It matches so well with my cherry necklace, cherry pie earings, and strawberry brooch!

Scotties & Lobsters

Hello there! Today I'm just staying in. I'm going to work out, read, and watch a movie.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Hell Bunny skirt. This is the first item they showed online for their spring 2015 line. They showed a few other items too, but this was my favourite. I can't wait to see their full spring line. I think the Scottie dog print is adorable. It's my first dog print item in my wardrobe, actually my first animal print period. I'm surprised I don't have any cat prints yet either. Cats are my favourite animal. I do also really love dogs, too.
All of these brands showing their upcoming spring lines is making me very excited to see what comes out, and also very excited for springtime! It's sad it's only been just over a month of winter. Winter always seems to be neverending here.

Another Oranges Dress!

Hello there! Well, last night/this morning we got our first significant snowfall of the season. I knew it'd happen eventually, and I'm glad it took this long to do it. It seems as thought it's stopped though. Bob is out plowing. Poor thing, we both hate when he has to do it on the weekends. Tonight I'm meeting my friend in town for a drink. Other than that, I'm staying home and cleaning, doing laundry, working out, and just relaxing.
I'm so excited about my newest Bernie Dexter dress! Bernie had posted it on her Instagram account a few weeks ago, and said it was a "sneak peek". I couldn't wait until it became available! A couple weeks ago she put it on her website, and said it was pre-order, and that it'd ship in a week or two. I found a coupon online and then instantly bought it (with some of my Christmas money!), and was hoping it'd ship soon. Well, it shipped early this week. I was nervous about how the bust would fit, since I've never bought a Bernie dress in this style before. It's the Paris style. I bought a size larger than normal, after emailing Bernie to ask her opinion on if I should. (I have a large bust.)It's big in the waist, as I expected. But, a belt hides that. It does easily zip all the way to the top, but the line in the material that's supposed to sit under the bust, does not sit under my bust. It sits on my bust. But, you can't tell when I'm wearing a cropped cardigan. And even without the cardigan, I don't think it looks bad like that.
Anyway, I just loveeee this oranges print! I already have a Pin Up Girl Clothing oranges dress, but that one has a white background, and only has oranges on the skirt part. So, they do look quite different. I just can't get enough of fruit jewelry/clothing/shoes! (I'm sure that blatantly obvious by now, ha!)
A lot of shops/brands have been showing previews online of their new upcoming spring lines. I've seen some really cute things from Hell Bunny, Heart of Haute, etc. I hate waiting for the new items to become available, ha! I'm impatient.
