With A Strawberry On Top

Hello there! Tonight I met my good friend for a drink in town, after work. Tomorrow night after work Bob and I are going to Friendly's for dinner. We hardly ever eat out (other than getting slices of pizza or Panera), so it'll be nice to go. Bob is going with his family to West Virginia this weekend. That's where his mother is from, and all (7!) of her sibling still live there, within half an hour of each other. Bob goes every year with his family, for a couple of days. I haven't yet gone with them. I can't take the time off of work, usually. They are leaving Saturday morning, and getting back Monday afternoon.
I'm sooo glad tomorrow is Friday! It was so nice to have a short week.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Hell Bunny dress. I loveee it paired with my strawberry Luxulite brooch! This was my first Hell Bunny dress, my mom gave it to me for this past Christmas. (I picked it out.) I wasn't sure which size to order. This dress (like a lot of my dresses) is big in the waist, but just fits my chest. Thank God for belts for hiding the fact that a lot of my dresses are big in the waist! It's just so much more flattering to highlight the smallest part of you.
The shoes I'm wearing are from shoebakery.com. I ordered another pair of flats from them, over a month ago. I hope they ship soon! They take awhile to ship, and their website says that as well. Every pair is hand made. It's hard to wait for them to come; they are just sooo adorable!

Lead East

Hello there! Bob & I had a great time at Lead East yesterday! The only real annoying thing was how crowded it was, and that often made it difficult to walk around. We saw sooo many gorgeous classic cars! My favourite was a pink and white '55 Ford Victoria. One of my favourite aspects of classis cars is that many of them are also brightly coloured inside! If I were able to, I would definitely buy one. Maybe one day when I'm older, I can afford to!  Being into classic cars is definitely in my blood; my dad has always been into them, and always owned them. There's videos of when my sister and I were little, playing in the trunk of one of my dad's Cadillacs.
We also had some drinks at the bar, and heard a lot of amazing bands/singers! The last band we saw perform was the Whiptones. They sang acapella, in the doowop style. I looked them up online when we got home, and it seems they just graduated high school in June! I wish there were more 1950's events in our area.
There weren't many ladies dressed in 1950's style clothing, which surprised me! I didn't see any woman wearing Pin Up Girl Clothing. A few people complimented me on my outfit. One woman told me I looked so cute, she wanted to squeeze me into a smoothie!

My favourite car there!

One Of The Best Prints: Harlequin

Hello there! Happy weekend! Today I'm going to clean the apartment and do laundry, and then get ready to got Lead East with Bob. It's finally here & I'm so excited! I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun. And the weather is just perfect today! I'm wearing one of my favourite outfits there. (Not the one in the pictures below.) I will show pictures from the event soon! I think they have clothing and housewares vendors there. I really hope so, because around here there aren't many places to buy retro-style clothing and housewares!
I had had my alarm sent for 7:00 a.m. this morning to check Luxulite's new listings. (Luxulite is an Etsy shop, where I get my brooches from & some of my necklaces.) I would never normally wake up at 7:00 a.m. on a weekend day ha. So, I ended up waking up at 5:10 a.m., and instead of going back to sleep right away, I figured I'd check to see if the listings were up yet, and they were already up, and a bunch of items had already sold! But, I snagged an amazing, colourful fruit necklace. It's so "me." I missed out on a Halloween brooch, but she's listing more soon, so hopefully I'll be able to get one then! I'm just the *teeniest* bit obsessed with Katy & her amazing creations, ha! It's worth it to get up early on a weekend, and try & snag some beautiful, colourful items. The reason the listings are up so early is actually because she lives in England, and it's about six hours later over there.

Finally: A Yellow Dress

Hello there! We are so close to Friday now, and a glorious three day weekend, and that makes me oh, so very happy! Tonight Bob made one of my most favourite dishes, pasta with Alfredo sauce and tomatoes and broccoli! We're going to go to Kohl's soon, we have a coupon, plus I still have money left on a gift card I got from my bridal shower. Lately I haven't seen much I like at Kohl's, but we'll see. We are looking in the kitchen/housewares area.
I don't really have plans yet for tomorrow night. Saturday Bob and I are going to Lead East, a huge 1950's festival-type thing. They have a car show and vendors and live music. We've never gone before, and I'm very excited for it! I knew right away what I would wear, ha. I've never really met girls my age who live in this area, who are into "my type" of fashion, so maybe I will meet some on Saturday! And if not meet any, just get to see their outfits.
Sunday we are going to a BBQ at Bob's cousin's house, although it's supposed to storm on Sunday, so I don't know if they will still be having it. And Monday we aren't going to do much. It'll be so nice to have a very relaxing day with my husband!
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress my mom made me a couple of weeks ago. I had been wanting a yellow dress for so long, and couldn't find one I loved, so now I finally have one! Even though it has plenty of other colours on it too, ha. But, that's just me; a rainbow lady.
I got another pair of the fruit flats I'm wearing in these pictures, and they just arrived. They are a size bigger than I am, and they're used, but it's so hard to find these flats, that I'll take what I can get! The reason I got another pair, is that these shoes are sooo cheap and flimsy, and I know my first pair won't last too much longer.

Something Different: Pastels

Hello there! Today I'm not doing much, a typical Sunday. I like my relaxing Sundays! I'm getting towards the end of a book, and I can't wait to see how it ends. It's called "Gemini". I'll probably finish it today. I'm also going to work out, and look for fabric online for my mom to make me another dress. I seriously need to learn how to sew soon! I could've learned so long ago, when I lived at home, and I should have! It's so much cheaper to make dresses, and also I have more options for clothing than just shopping, because I can find such cute, colourful material.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress I got from Modcloth a year and a half ago. It was my second dress purchase from them. The material is very light and silky feeling. I think the print is so cute. This has to be the most pastel-y item of clothing I own. I don't gravitate towards pastels at all, as I obviously love/am obsessed with bright, vibrant colours. The brooch I'm wearing with it pairs quite nicely, since it is also pretty pastel, and it doesn't match with much else that I have.

A Different Kind Of Outfit

Hello there! Last night I went over my friend's apartment. She lives just two minutes from me. She has a daughter who's almost two, and she also has a kitten. They are both really cute! I got home around midnight, and then I had a couple drinks with Bob, and went to bed. Today I'm cleaning the apartment, doing laundry, working out, and running a couple of errands. I'm not sure yet what we'll be doing tonight. I'm so excited for the three day weekend next weekend!!
Next Saturday Bob and I are going to Lead East, a 1950's festival type thing. It's called "The World's Biggest 50's Party". I've never been to something like that before. I'm sure it'll be fun! Next Sunday Bob and I are going to his cousin's house for a Labor Day BBQ.
In the pictures below I'm wearing (for the first time) a dress, and a skirt over it. I got the idea awhile back from seeing other bloggers/girls on Instagram do it, but I didn't try it until I took these pictures. I like it! It definitely gives me more options in my wardrobe. I just love my junk food dress so much, I'm glad that I can now wear it a new way, as a top!
