"If You're Going To San Francisco"

Hello there! Last night Bob and I went over his parents' house for dinner and cake for his mother's birthday. We ran some errands after that, and then went home. We watched part of "It's A Wonderful Life", but I got too tired, and couldn't finish it. I'll probably finish it today. We also watched "White Christmas" this weekend. "White Christmas" is my favorite holiday movie. If you haven't seen it, you must! Same goes for "It's A Wonderful Life".
I had a very successful anitquing today yesterday. Bob and I went to a Christmas antique show abotu twenty minutes away. We had never been to this show before, but my mom recommended it. We got there half an hour after it opened, and it was very crowded inside. So, that was annoying, but other than that, I was happy to see how much good stuff they had. I didn't see any blow molds though, but they had lots of bottle brush trees! I picked up three of them, and had my eye on others, too.
I try to do a full walk through at antique shows before buying anything, in case I find something I love more than what I first saw, or I find the same thing cheaper at the show. I do make exceptions, like if it's something I already know is a great deal, and may sell by the time I get back to the booth. My first purchase I did buy immediately, before walking around, and that was a $20 bottle brush tree. I knew it was a good price, plus the tree was different than most I've seen; it was silver with ball ornaments strung throughout the center of the tree. Later, I saw the same tree at another booth for $50! I ended up also getting one ceramic tree (only $20!), and a basket made of Christmas cards. I posted pictures below of my finds.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Lindy Bop dress. It has a San Fransisco border print on it. I went to SF when I was fourteen, but I'd love to go back sometime soon.
The colors in this print are so gorgeous; reminds me of sherbert. This is the best fitting LB dress I've ever tried on. Usually the waists are huge on me in LB dresses, but luckily this one is only a little big, and while it's tight on my chest, the buttons don't gape.

High Street

Hello there! I've been having a pretty low key Sunday in, with Bob. I'm reading a book I got for Christmas, and it's really interesting. It's called "Into Thin Air", about a journalist's Mt. Everest climb in 1996 (true story). I don't know how people make the attempts at climbing Everst, they are MUCH braver than I 'll ever be, ha. Tomorrow's back to work for Bob and I, ugh. But, can't wait to get through the 3.5 day work week, and have another 3.5 day long weekend! One good thing is, the phones should be pretty quiet at work this week, as a lot of people have off this week.
In the pictures below I'm wearing the outfit I wore to go to Bethlehem with Bob yesterday. I got the cropped tie sweater and earrings from my mom for Christmas. I really love the earrings; my favorite colors! I had them custom made on Etsy, and then sent my mom the link, ha. I also love the sweater. I can definitely never have enough cropped sweaters, to wear with my dresses and skirts. This is my first time trying a Heart of Haute cropped sweater. I just ordered it in red from Retroglam.com. I already had a white cropped cardigan, but I wear it all the time, and it's not very good quality. It's the same thing with my current red cropped cardis. The blog post title is from the print of the dress I'm wearing, the dress print is called High Street.

Paint Palettes Dress

Hello there! This weekend's going to be more eventful than usual. It's Bob's mom's birthday, my holiday work party, and Bob and I are planning on going to Bethlehem, PA to go their Christmas Market. Next week is my dad's birthday, and the following week is my great uncle's. So, December is even more busy for us, because of all the birthdays!
As soon as I saw this Bernie Dexter paint dress arrive on her website, I knew I had to have it! It instantly caught my eye because of how adorable and colourful it is! But, I didn't want to pay full price for it. So, I impatiently waited to see if it'd show up elsewhere, with a coupon code. When I posted a picture of it on Instagram, luckily someone commented and told me it'd be on their new website soon for a big discount! I was so excited to hear that, and bought it as soon as I went on the site. I ended up ordering another Bernie from their site the next day, too, for the same discounted price. After that, it took about two weeks to receive the dresses, as they hadn't received them themselves yet. They arrived Monday, and I couldn't wait to get home from work to try them on! I sized up from my usual Bernie size in this dress, as well as the other one I received. I knew the other one I received I would need to size up in for my bust, as I have other prints int he same style. (The Paris style.) As for this paint print dress, I sized up because of the buttons in front. I didn't want to risk gaping, or not being able to button them at all because of my chest. Well, unfortunately, this dress is very large in the waist. It does fit in the bust though, without gaping, which is good. I'll probably have my mom take it in for me at the waist. Even with a belt, I don't think this it defines my waist enough. I did switch this belt for a thicker one after taking pictures, and I thought it looked better. The Paris dress I received isn't nearly as big in the waist as this one is. I really have a love for shirt dresses, and I'm so glad I now have another! I think I'll be wearing this dress a lot. I can never have enough Bernie Dexter dresses! She's one of my very favourite designers. I have more Bernie dresses now than any other brand.

Red Peasant

Hello there! Today I'm going to be cleaning, doing laundry, working out, reading, etc... and then at night Bob and I are meeting  up with a friend. Last night we just had a quiet night in, watched TV, and ran a couple of errands.
Viva Las Vegas is five months from today, but who's counting, ha? We haven't booked our trip yet, and Bob hasn't even given me a 100% answer yet, but I just know he'll end up saying yes, ha. He knows how badly I want to go back. He likes Vegas a lot too, and we've been there together five times now. This time we'll spend more time at Viva Las Vegas than we did last time. I also really want to go back because some girls I have met will be attending! I'd like to meet more people too, but it's hard because I'm shy. Last year most of the people I talked to were ones who said something to me first. I asked for pictures with a couple of ladies I recognized from Instagram, but I was nervous to do it. I hope this year I'll feel a little more comfortable.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new red Pin Up Girl Clothing peasant top, and my Heart of Haute nesting dolls skirt. I'm so glad this top finally restocked! I really wish they'd come out with more bright colours soon. I have it in lime green and white, as well. It's my favourite style of shirt, it's flattering and comfortable, and I can add a bandeau under it to wear to work. This one matches well with a lot of my skirts. I've been wearing my new fruit necklace as much as possible!

Nesting Dolls Tatyana Dress

Hello there! Today Bob and I are just going to relax at home; I'm going to work out, read, and watch TV. Oh yea, I'm also going to begin packing, since we're going away this week to New Orleans! I kind of can't believe it's so soon, but that may be because we booked it only a month ahead of time, so I didn't have too much time to countdown to it! Tomorrow night we are going to my grandmother's, and meeting my dad there.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Tatyana nesting dolls dress! I received it yesterday; I had ordered it from eBay. This is my first Tatyana brand item that I've bought. I had been eyeing this dress for about five months, and finally decided to take the plunge. I really like the shape of the dress; it's similar to Pin Up Girl Clothing Jenny dresses, except there's no boning in the top part. I love how full the skirt is. The material isn't as thick as Jenny dresses, but I still like the material. The print is vibrant and adorable! Part of the reason I debated ordering it for so long, is because in some pictures I saw of it, the print looked too dark for me, but in others it didn't. I was happy to find that the print is bright. I could've worn a size down in the waist, and probably could've squeezed my chest into a size smaller, too. I didn't want to have to return it though, and it's nice to have some extra room all over, plus with the belt, no one can tell it's big. This is another great novelty print to have in my wardrobe!
