Under The Sea

Hello there! My family bbq ended up being moved to today, because of the rain yesterday. So, my mom had my grandparents and Bob and me over for lunch yesterday. My sister and her boyfriend were there too, they came up Friday, and stayed over night. She had us over yesterday, beause my sister and her boyfriend can't go to the bbq today, they'll be at his parent's. I'm also going to Bob's parent's today, and not to my family's bbq. My sister will be moving in a month with her boyfriend, to Nashville.
It's officially a week until vacation! Wow, it feels great to say that. This week will be super busy and chaotic at work, but hopefully that'll make the days fly by, because I just can not wait to be relaxing on the beach with my love and drinking delicious orange crushes. It doesn't really get better than that.
I love this seahorse Hell Bunny dress so much. I'm normally not too into wearing pastel clothing, but I don't mind it with this adorable dress. Of course I always have to pair it with this seahorse necklace.

Happy 4th!

Hello there! Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I really hope it doesn't rain today! It's supposed to be cloudy with a chance of rain all day. I'll be weatring my Bernie Dexter bbq dress today. Bob's parent's BBQ got moved to tomorrow, because of the possible rain, but so far my family has kept theirs for today. Yesterday it was so nice to be off, and I got a lot done, and also got to relax a bit.
Today I'm just going to relax, work out, and then get ready to over to my aunt & uncle's at 1. Bob helped me make macaroni salad for it yesterday, we just have to mix in the wet ingredients this morning. Believe it or not, I had never cooked before, ha! I have baked plenty, but Bob loves to cook so much and wants to do always do it, that I never had to do it.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress I get a lot of use out of it. I wear it to work often, and it's nice because I don't need to wear a cropped cardigan with it, since there's enough sleeve coverage. I also don't need to wear a bandeau since the neckline is high. I don't have too many sleeveless dresses that I don't need a bandeau and/or cropped cardigan to wear to work with! It's such a cheerful, bright print. I would like to find more pennant prints, but unfortnately there doesn't see to be too many colourful ones around. Even though I wear this dress often, I love coming up with new combos of jewelry and shoes for things it, and other items I wear a lot. I had never worn it with these new yellow heels before, or the gumball machine brooch. Accessories and shoes can really freshen up an outfit.

Poppies In July

Hello there! It's July already, and I couldn't be happier about it. Our vacation month! We leave in a week and a half. After counting down for months, it's finally very close! One of the very best things about vacation (to me) is overpacking my favourite clothing, and then changing at least once a day to showcase all my best outfits! Since we are driving this trip, I can overpack as much as I want. I'm also very excited that I just have to get through tomorrow, and then my three day weekend starts. I'm really looking forward to relaxing on Friday and also getting some things done. I'm going to bake chocolate oatmeal cookies to take to the BBQs with me on Saturday. They are one of my all time favourite cookies.
We had bad storms in the area last night. There was even a tornado not too far from us. I was woken up by super loud thunder, at 4 a.m. this morning. I love summer so much, but the only thing I don't love about it, is getting woken up by thunderstorms when I have work the next day! At least our power didn't go out at all.

Hello there! Bob and I had a great time at Brew Work's yesterday. It was raining all day and night, so we ate and had drinks inside. It wasn't too crowded either, which is nice. When we got home we just relaxed and watched a couple of documentaries. Today is dreary out as well, so no pool or beach time this weekend. I will just be reading, working out, relaxing on the couch, and maybe doing a Target run. Bring on the four day work week! 
Next Saturday my family is having a BBQ, and so is Bob's. They both start at the same time too, ha. I will probably go to mine first, and leave early to go to Bob's. I have family from Alaska who will be at this BBQ. I haven't seen them in probably about four years. Also, my sister will be home. I haven't seen her in two months. She's moving to Nashville in the beginning of August, with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend actually is there looking at apartments this weekend, and signed the lease on one yesterday!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new orange Le Bomb Shop top. I have this top in four other colours. I got two from Le Bomb Shop and two from a booth at Viva Las Vegas (Oblong Box Shop). They are priced well, this one was $24 and free shipping. I love this shade of orange. It can be pretty difficult to find cute orange clothing. I don't have too many skirts yet that match this top, but at least my bird skirt matches. I bought this skirt from Modcloth, and it's Retrolicious brand. Retrolicious has so many colourful, fun prints. I also look forward to seeing their new releases. They also always have great Christmas-y prints, too! I've been pairing these yellow B.A.I.T. Idas with sooo many outfits since I received them. They add such a fun pop of colour. I very impatiently waited for them for months to come out!
Also, my new Luxulite toucan brooch is perfect to wear with this outfit. I also have a dress with a bird print, so I will of course be pairing the brooch with that as well.

Coral Harley

Hello there! Today I'm going to clean, do laundry, and work out. In the early evening Bob and I are going to Brew Works for dinner and drinks. Tomorrow I don't really have any plans. It's supposed to rain this weekend and be cooler out, so we won't be able to eat outside tonight, unfortunatly. I'm very excited for a four day work week next week! (We have off Friday for 4th of July.) Bob has to work Friday though.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my coral Harley Pin Up Girl Clothing dress. It is the perfect shade of coral, and I just love the neckline of the dress! I have it in bright blue, too. It's my favourite PUG style dress. I have the Harleys in a size smaller than I normally wear in PUG, and they are definitely tighter fitting on both my chest & waist, but not uncomfortably tight.

For The Love Of Orange/s

Hello there! I'm so glad the humidity went away. Yesterday was OUTRAGEOUS!! Even early in the morning when I was leaving for work, it was uncomfortably humid out. The worst part about it is when I'm on my lunch break. I sit in my car in a parking lot on my break, and the parking lot I go to is near by my job, so my air conditioning is hardly working by the time I get to the parking lot. So, I definietely sweat a lot! Tonight I met up with my good friend for soup at Panera. We are going to the beach in August, and I'm  excited about that! She is a huge beach lover, and so am I. We may stay overnight in Atlantic City, if it's not too expensive for a hotel, which it very well good be at that time of year. In two and a half weeks Bob and I are going on a beach vacation. But, I'm glad I'll also being going to the Jersey shore at least once this summer. I didn't go at all last summer.
Saturday Bob is working, and then we are headed to Brew Works for dinner & drinks. I'm looking forward to it. I never get tired of that place. I'm so glad I'm getting to do so much fun stuff this summer. I just love taking advantage of the warm weather, to go on day trips/overnight trips.

Our First Wedding Anniversary

Hello there! Today is my our first wedding anniversary! We got back from NYC around 1:30 today, and we got there around 10:30 a.m. yesterday morning. I had a good time, but unfortunately my husband didn't feel well for the majority of the time. His allergies were bothering him a lot (we think because were on the subway much more than we usually use it in the city, and the dampness from being underground was probably what was bothering his allergies), and then for a time his stomach was bothering him, too. He still doesn't feel 100% now. 
But, I got to go to the two stores I really wanted to go to, Enz's & Slapback. I didn't get anything at Slapback, and didn't even see anything to try on. But, I did well at Enz's! I got two dresses and a wristlet/purse. I had been thinking of ordering a dress in the Trashy Diva Green Kimono print since it came out, and just never took the plunge. Once I tried it on at Enz's in the Lena style, I loved it on! The material is so light and comfortable. It also isn't supertight in the chest, so I like that there's breathing room in it! I also got a red and white gingham Bernie Dexter dress. Here I go again, getting another red dress, ha! It was supposed to be sunny out yesterday, and cloudy and rainy today, but it ended up being the reverse! Today is hot, humid, and very sunny. Yesterday there was no sun, and it kept drizzling. So, my hair was a wreck! I had straightened it in the morning, thinking it would be good since it wasn't supposed to rain.
We went to tiki bars. We had never bee to tiki bars before, until we were in Vegas in April for Viva. We went to one tiki bar there, Frankie's Tiki Room, and loved it! So, we really wanted to check them out in NYC. I really enjoyed both of them, but prefered Otto's Shrunken Head, which is in Manhatten. (We spent most of our time in Brooklyn, and that's where out hotel was, as well. Otto's was quirky and fun. We bought two tiki cups to take home. They were only $5 each! My parrot one is pictured below.
