Record Dress

Hello there! I'm so glad it's the weekend, even though it's very dreary and rainy out today. We have barely gotten rain since spring, it's almost like I forgot what it's like to have a day like this! I don't have plans really for the weekend; it's going to be a relaxing one. Next Saturday Bob and I are going to visit my sister in Connecticut, for the day.
On a side note, does anyone ever watch the QVC channel on TV? I don't watch it because I like the items & am interested in buying anything...I watch it because it's hilarious & ridiculous! (And they are not trying to be hilarious...but, they are.) The hosts are so silly and dramatic about what they are pitching. And then, when fashion designer Issac Mizrahi comes on (he is on for certain segments, when they are spotlighting his brand), it gets even sillier! You have to watch, I can't do it justice. He is quite wacky and eccentric. But, what makes it even better, is he acts astonished at all the items in his collection...but, he designed them!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new Modcloth record print dress. I got this dress with some of my birthday money. The dress was half off, plus I had a 20% off coupon, so it was a really great deal! Modcloth used to have a button down shirt in this same print, and I had thought about ordering it, but didn't want to spend the money at the time, & then it went out of stock & never came back.
I'm so glad I decided to finally get the dress! It doesn't have the best reviews, so that made me hesitant. I sized up in the dress, as a lot of reviews said it ran small in the chest. Luckily it fits my chest. I love the full skirt on it. I didn't realize from the pictures how full the skirt would be, and I was pleasantly surprised!

A New Yellow Dress!

Hello there! Tonight Bob and I went to meet my dad & grandmother at Panera. My grandmother is going to California on Saturday; she lives out there half the year, and half the year lives five minutes from me. It's always sad to see her go, and I know she misses us a lot when she is out there.
My new Hell Bunny dress arrived today. I love it! I had been looking at it online for months, and finally made the plunge when the Viva La Dulce Marina website had a $3 shipping special. I sized up in this dress, to make sure the chest would fit. The chest is pretty tight even so, but luckily not too tight. As a result, the waist is a little big. But, I'll just wear a belt with it to disguise that! I adore the colour yellow, but it's not so easy to find yellow dresses. I don't like wearing mustard yellow, either. Luckily, this dress is a great shade of yellow! It's like a mid yellow shade, but not mustard-y. I really love the brand of Hell Bunny. It's definitely one of my favourite brands.
Another bonus with this dress is I bought it with some of the money I got for my birthday! I have two more dresses on the way that I also bought with birthday money. I'm thinking about also ordering this dress is pink & white. It's only $45 on the Hey Viv website.
I'm also wearing my new cake earrings in these pictures! I loveee them, they are so colourful & perfectly me. I got them where I get most of my food jewelry from, from the Etsy shop: Scrumptiousdoodle. The girl who makes the jewelry is so darn talented!

Indian Summer

Hello there! I've had a great weekend. Friday night Bob & I went to my parent's for my birthday party. All my grandparents, and my one aunt & uncle were also there. Satuday I went to New York City for the day with Bob. The weather was just absolutely perfect! It was so sunny & warm, but not humid. This weeked has felt so much like summer! We went to a few stores, and had dinner and drinks at Sugar Factory. The only thing I bought was a Cat Studio New York dish towel. I'm not actually going to use it as a dish towel; Cat Studio dish towels are too nice and cute to do that! I have a few of them, and I drape them over tables and chests.
And then last night we went to a bar with my friend and one of Bob's friends. We stayed out late, got home a little after 2:00.
Today I cleaned the apartment, did laundry, talked on the phone to my sister, and ran to Target. Bob made my favourite meal for dinner for me tonight; tomato tart. Bob's family is stopping over tonight, too.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my pie dress from Modcloth. I love shirt dresses, I wish I had more!

My Second Bernie Dress

Hello there! I don't have much new to report in my life, but I'm so excited about my new Bernie Dexter dress that I received yesterday that I just had to post tonight! I also received two next Luxulite brooches in the mail; what a great way to kick off the week leading up to my bday. I loveee my new strawberry brooch paired with my new dress. And any outfit that matches with a pair of my B.A.I.T. Idas is even more of a bonus!
This is my second Bernie Dexter dress, and I adore both of mine. I want more! They are pricey though. I managed to get this one for cheaper than the normal price, so that was great. I bought it from her Etsy shop. I was nervous about what size to order, because I know some of the Bernie dresses run quite small in the bust. This one just fits my chest, and I'm so glad it does. There's some room in the waist, but the belt disguises that. This dress is just so darn cute that I may even need to wear it on my birthday! Still deciding about that, ha. This dress is so flattering for my body type, and that makes me very happy! I always love when I find brands that make me look the best I possibly can.

Darker Harlequin

Hello there! It's gorgeous out again today. We've had a lovely sunny, warm weekend; it's going to be 79 degrees today. Next weekend is supposed to be about the same, hopefully that forecast doesn't change to rain, since Bob & I will be walking around NYC next Saturday! Today is going to be a nice, relaxing day for Bob & I. I'm going to work out & do laundry, but other than that I think I'm just going to read & watch TV & maybe a movie. We've been married three months today!
In the pictures below I'm wearing my darker harlequin dress. I like my other one with the white background better, since it's brighter! No surprise there ha. My blue Ione B.A.I.T. heels match perfectly with this dress, which is a bonus, because not manyof my outfits match perfectly with these heels.
I adore the fit & look of the Pin Up Girl Clothing Jenny dresses so darn much! I hope they come out with more colours/patterns sometime soon, because none of the ones currently available are ones that I am crazy about. (Other than the three that I own.)

Rainbow Pennants

Hello there! Last night I went to Panera with my grandmother for dinner. Then I just came home & relaxed at the apartment with Bob. This morning we are going to the bank to sign papers for me to open new checking & saving accounts, and his name will be on them. After that's done, I will have taken care of a lot of the steps to changing my last name.
As a side note, I don't like many TV shows at all right now. (Except for HBO & Showtime shows, but we don't get thoe channels.) But, I am obsessed with "Impractical Jokers"!! I only started watching it about a month ago or so. It is hilarious! I can't wait until the new season comes out September 25th. I wish they showed the reruns more on TV.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a dress that I wear all the time. I adore it! It's from Modcloth's Bea & Dot line. I wish they'd come out with more brightly coloured dresses & skirts again soon. Lately, Modcloth has been coming out with mostly dark coloured clothing items (probably because it's almost fall). I love the thicker material, and that there's a lining underneath. But, of course my favourite part is the colours! The dress sold out really quickly, so I'm so glad I snatched it up immediately.

Haunted Housewife Dress

Hello there! Once again, the work week is more than half way over with. Love that feeling, although of course I love the Friday morning feeling even more. Tonight I'm not doing too much; doing laundry, reading a book ("Orphan Train"), relaxing on the couch with Bob. I'm about halfway through "Orphan Train". I had never heard of it until my mom lent it to me last week. It's really sad, and what makes it worse is even though this is ficiton, my mom said that there really were "orphan trains" in the early 1900's. An "orphan train" is basically where orphans are taken by train to towns in the U.S. for adults to pick out an orphan to take home to do labor for them. They weren't adopted, they were used for work, and often treated horribly.
Last Saturday night I was at a casino with Bob and some co-workerks. I won the second most money I've ever won at a casino! I won $135 playing roulette. Well, I put down $50 of that, but the $50 wasn't mine to start with. My bosses had given it to me to gamble with. So, I really did walk away with $135! It was awesome. When it's my own money, I stop gambling after I lose about $5, $10. And I would never put down a bet of $25. (This roulette table had a minimum bet of $25.)
Friday night I'm going to Panera with my grandmother for dinner. I don't have much planned for the weekend yet. It's next weekend that's going to be a lot of fun! Bob & I are going to NYC next Saturday for the day, for my birthday. I've been going to NYC every year for my birthday for about six years now.
In the pictures below I'm wearing a Pin Up Girl Clothing dress that I hadn't worn all summer because of the 3/4 sleeve length, and thicker material. I love the style & shape of it. The style is called "Haunted Housewife", and it's a very 50's look. For most women, black dresses are their "staple." I don't own a solid black dress. For me, red dresses are my "staples."
