Hello there! Today it's finally rainng; we've been without rain for a good while here, and it's been very hot for awhile, as well. Last night my parents came over for dinner. Bob cooked pasta, and made bread, and tomato soup. Of course my parents and I loved everything; as he's such a good cook. I also cleaned and did laundry yesterday, and watched some Netflix. Bob and I finished "The Sinner" last night; that was a pretty good show. I had never heard of it before. We also started "Glow" last night, and just watched the first episode. I'm definitely interested in seeing more of it. It's a nice break from the type of shows I usually watch; I watch a lot of crime/mystery/thriller shows (true crime and non true), which "The Sinner" fits into the mystery/thriller genre.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my new to me vintage dress that I picked up in New Hope last weekend. Our day didn't start out so good, as we got into a minor car accident on the way to New Hope, when a car stopped short in front of us, and Bob rearended them. Luckily, no one was hurt, and the damage to the car we hit was very minimal, and both cars were driveable. Bob's car was much more damaged, unfortunately, so he was not happy. But, we proceeded to New Hope, as planned.
I got the vintage dress from a really neat shop there called Love Saves the Day. They have a good amount of vintage clothing there, plus some random housewares and knickknacks, new and old. I spotted this dress on the rack, and loved the colors. I pulled it off the rack, praying to the vintage gods that it would fit me, and it fit perfectly! The dress is all I purchased in New Hope, and Bob got a vintage shirt that I really like, at a different vintage clothing shop there.
In the pictures below is my vintage Enid Collins bag. I only have one so far, but I think a lot of her purses were really neat. I love the beautiful flower pattern and the colors in this one!

Turquoise Birds
Hello there! Yesterday I had a fun day; I went to yard sales and an antique shop with my mom in the morning, and then in the afternoon went to New Hope with Bob. I didn't find anything at the yard sales, but I did a piece of Pyrex for $6 at the antique shop! It's a yellow medium sized fridgie. I actually already had one in the same size and color, but I can use both for display, or I can actually use one in the kitchen, and display one. It's in good condition too, but came without the lid. If I want to, I can always buy a lid for cheap on Etsy or eBay. The weather started out crappy; dreary, drizzling, and cool out. But, it quickly warmed up, and turned into a really sunny and beautiful day.
Bob and I have been trying to go to New Hope since April, but every time we were going to go, it would rain. We were talking about going next Saturday, but when I saw how nice it was supposed to be yesterday, I told him I didn't want to risk not going yesterday, and then having it end up raining next Saturday. We had at late lunch when we got there, and sat outside on a restaurant patio to eat. My favorite part about New Hope is having a meal & drinks outside. The drive there is also so pretty, we drive through a lot of small towns, with mountains, farms, and rivers on the way. After we ate, we walked around, and went in a shop that sells vintage clothes, among other things. I didn't find anything there, but it's a fun shop. We ended up at an outdoor bar where I had a drink (Bob wasn't feeling that great yesterday), and after that I got ice cream, and then we headed out.
I wore my new to me Trashy Diva turquoise birds Lupe dress yesterday. I just received it from a trade. I had never tried the Lupe style before, and was a bit apprehensive about it fitting me right and being flattering, but to my surprise, it's perfect! It fits me very well everywhere, and is flattering. I once had this print before in the Sweetie style, but it never fit my bust, so I didn't keep it. This print was my #1 TD unicorn, after I got the rockets and FQ print last year. I'm glad to finally have it! I'm going to wear the heck out of it this summer.
It's obviously best suited for summer, but I'll be extending that by wear it into early fall and also in late spring. I like the pretty detail at the neckline, too.

New Hope
Hello there! Well, in spite of how gloomy out it was yesterday, we decided to change it and go to New Hope. It ended up drizzling towards the end of our trip, but we only had to walk in it for a little bit. It was a little cool out too, but I resisted putting on my light jacket; didn't want to hide my fabulous outfit, ha! We had a good time, as we always do there. It's a really beautiful, artsy, funky, small business oriented town. The drive in is really scenic too, there are a few towns on the way over that are similar to New Hope (but don't have as much to do there). We go there about four times a year.
This time I actually bought clothing, which I've never done there before. There's a store called Thirteen Vintage on the main street. Last time I went in there, one of the shop owners recognized me from Instagram, and that was the first time that had ever happened to me in this area. The owners are super nice, and I got to talk to them for quite awhile about vintage repoduction. They give me a discount too, which is so sweet! I bought a L indy Bop dress and Sourpuss cropped cardi. It's so great to be able to try on these brands in person, instead of just ordering online. I'll get to do that again (at Enz's) in early June, when Bob and I go to NYC for the day. Enz's carries brands like Bernie Dexter, Trashy Diva and Retrospec'd, so I'm very excited to go again!
I wore my new to me Trashy Diva red waterlilies day dress, that I posted a blog about on Friday. I tried to style my hair "40's", since the dress is definitely 40's inspired. My hair didn't turn out exactly right, but that's okay.
Dresses: Trashy Diva & Thirteen Vintage (Lindy Bop)
Cardi: Thirteen Vintage (Sourpuss)

New Hope
Hello there! Bob and I had a nice time in New Hope today. Even though it was 6o degrees, it was windy, so I kept my light jacket on the whole time. We had lunch and drinks at an outside bar/restaurant. They had outdoor heaters too, and one was blowing on our backs, so that helped with the windchill. When we first sat down the bar wasn't crowded, but in a little while it got very crowded. I'm sure it was because it was such a gorgeous day out, and New Hope is a town for walking around in, so people are going to want to take advantage of such a great day to walk around. We went in a few stores, but didn't buy anything. They have a lot of small shops, non-chain stores, like clothing shops, antique shops, a bookstore, etc. I'm a bookworm, but I very rarely buy books. I almost always take them out of the library, or borrow them from someone, or just re-read my own books.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my only Lindy Bop dress. I love the print on it, and even though it has a black background, which I obviously normally don't gravitate towards, there's plenty of colors in the drinks. I love my new Erstwilder cupcake brooch! It's definitetly one of my favorite Erstwilder brooches. I was so happy they finally made a new cupcake brooch.
I had seen the one with the leopard print they came out with awhile ago, but didn't like that one.
The last two pictures were taken today in New Hope. I had curled my hair this morning, but it didn't stay in too well.

Call Me Rainbow Brite
Hello there! It's been such a gorgeous weekend weather wise. It's sunny out again today. Yesterday started out overcast, but much improved. We went to New Hope yesterday. We had lunch and drinks at an outside bar. Then we went and looked at the river, and then walked around a bit and went in a couple of stores. I'm trying to go on as many weekend day trips as possible this spring/summer. Two weekends from now we are going to NYC on Saturday, and staying over night. We have never done that before. We'll be celebrating our first wedding anniversary. I'm very excited for that.
Today I'm not doing that much. I'm going to work out, read, watch TV/relax, and maybe run to Target. I'm hanging out with my good friend this Thursday to celebrate her 30th birthday. Her actual birthday is next Saturday, but she is going to a wedding that day.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my rainbow stripe Emily & Fin dress from Modcloth. I got it a year and a half ago. I love it so much. It's flattering, and of course I love the print. I love pairing it with my new bright yellow B.A.I.T. Footwear Iones. They just arrived yesterday. I had waited so long for them to become available! They first showed them as "coming soon" back in I believe January, on their Instagram. About a month later I saw them on their webiste, and ordered them immediately. Well, turns out they shipped me a different shade of yellow Iones. So, I contacted them right away. They said they had made a mistake in showing the bright yellow ones as available on their site, and that they weren't actually available yet. Finally they are mine! They are just the perfect shade of sunny yellow, exactly what I wanted. I have so much to pair them with! I had recently gotten a pair of the same shade of yellow heels from B.A.I.T. Footwear, but they are open toed, and I wouldn't be able to wear them year round. These ones I can!

New Hope Trip
Hello there! Yesterday Bob and spent the day in New Hope. It was perfect weather for it! It was warm, but not hot or humid. When we first got there we stopped in a couple of shops, and then went to a pub for drinks & lunch. We sat outside at the bar. I just had some pizza, and Bob got a cheesesteak. We've eaten at this place a few other times. It's right on the main street, so we had a nice view from where we sat of shops and people walking by. When it's nice out I loveee to sit outside and eat and/or drink. I try to take advantage of opportunities to do that as much as possible, before the weather cools down.
After we left the pub we went to more shops. We also walked across the bridge to Lambertville, New Jersey. We had walked over there one other time, when there was a festival going on. This time there wasn't any festival, we just went in a couple shops. But, I didn't see really any place else I wanted to go there, so we walked back to New Hope. We got ice crem, went in a few more shops, and went home. All I bought was one Christmas cupcake ornament.
I wore my Pin Up Girl Clothing Jenny Oranges dress to New Hope. I keep wanting to wear it! It is my favourite Pin Up Girl Clothing item that I own. And I adore how my Luxulite necklace & brooch pair with it. I got a few compliments on my dress yesterday, including from a woman wh was driving and slowed down to yell it out the window, ha!
Today I'm going to clean the apartment, do laundry, work out, read, and watch "The Sopranos" with Bob. We only have two more episodes left to watch in the whole series! Once we're done with this series, I'm not sure what other TV series on DVD will be at the library that we'll want to take out. We've watched a bunch of TV series on DVD from the library already, ha.
