Hello there! Yesterday Bob and I went to his great aunt's funeral service and then we went to a nearby restaurant afterwards with Bob's extended family. Today I had a doctor's appointment, and there was bad traffic in two places on my way there, so I ended up getting there ten minutes late, and I hate being late, ha. Luckily they still called me in right away.
One week from today we leave for Nashville! It's finally right around the corner, and can't come soon enough. Great music, great eating, and great shopping! What more do we need?
I just hope it's not insanely humid, but...I'm sure it will be. It was pretty bad last May. I've
almost finalized what outfits I'm bringing, but I need to really finalize it.
In the pictures below I'm wearing my Trashy Diva Preservation Hall Trixie dress that I just received. The print isn't availabler on the website yet, but I ordered this dress by calling the Trashy Diva store. I adore Trixie dresses; they're so comfortable and easy to wear. They have stretchy side panels, which I love, and a big reason why the dress is so comfortable. They also have adjustable straps, which is another bonus, as dress straps are often long on me.
I adore New Orleans prints, and I now have three different ones, including this print. This is a vintage reproduction print, and the color palette is definitely darker than what I normally gravitate towards, but I still love it, and the accessories brighten it up a bit. I posted a picture of a close up of the print: it features a steamboat, musicians, stage performers, waiters, stage coaches, etc.
The brooch I'm wearing with the dress is made by Katy aka Luxulite, but I actually found it in a local antique mall! I was shocked to find her stuff locally. I guess that means there are others in my area who discovered Luxulite?! The shop had two of her brooches, but I already had one very similar to the one for sale, so I just snagged this beautiful starburst one.
